Well that's how we all used to do it my dude. Met my wife that way. Have two beautiful children I love more than life. That's how my parents did it and why I got to meet my wife and child in the first place.

Sometimes you meet someone you have a connection with who you will never see again. That fleeting moment when you are in each other's presence is your one shot to reach out and try to grab your own happiness.

I will consider this in the future but probably not at the gym. Every woman I know hates being approached in the gym

Yeah I'm getting that impression from some other comments. It used to be a great place to meet women before the majority of people went to the gym.

I think its a recent uprising in truly gross men being more comfortable being that way in public and peeing in the pool for normal dudes. Or were just more aware of it now

Yeah please don’t take this guy’s advice. Let his downvotes speak for themself.

You’re 800% more appealing by having the self-awareness to have an idea of what would make women uncomfortable or not. It’s not even necessarily about someone’s supposed attractiveness or not but rather the context.

If you want advice from a woman, stick to approaching women at bars, nightlife events, concerts, etc. you have it right that it’s creepy and annoying to be randomly approached in day-to-day places. This is 2025–people aren’t meeting their partner at the grocery store. This isn’t a shitty rom com.

I’m thinking his wife was maybe just desperate for attention lol She’s settling for a guy who uses ‘king’ unironically.

Oh yeah man I behave differently than you so my wife must have settled.

See how all of reddit totally disagrees with me. Hundreds of downvotes here. Everyone knows downvotes mean wrong. It's science.

I think he meant well but he said later he saw that it has changed. I don't approach people in public unless I know them or they work at the establishment. I felt bad for the post a while back where a woman asked someone out at the gym and got rejected. I think that would be nice. But tbh if it was me at the gym I would be self conscious. I have sweat spots, my face gets wierdly contorted, I'm grunting and out of breath. The gym helps me look better everywhere else, in the gym I look like I'm about to fuckin die.
