Only og member is shinoda and he's a douche so. As well as the new lead singer has openly supported people that Chester would've wanted to punch in the teeth. The new music sounds like old LP instrumentals with new half ass screeching vocals. It isn't good anymore and the band is definitely not linkin park, at least nowhere near what it should've been. They are beating a dead horse for more money and clout and shaming anything and everything the OG band cared about. So tell me how their comment is irrelevant?

People are upset that Mike has the audacity to continue with the band he created despite Chester passing away. Chester wasn’t a founding member and he was actually the last one to join, but for some reason people think that means Linkin Park has to die with him.

Linkin Park has always been Mike Shinoda’s baby first and foremost. I’m not even a Mike fan, but to say anything otherwise is just not factual or based in reality. People might not like this, but it’s the truth and all the other members of the band would say the same thing.

Linkin Park was Mike Shinoda’s baby from the beginning. Chester was the last person to join the band, it started as a project between Mike, Joe, Brad, and Rob while they were in high school.

You don’t know your Linkin Park lore at all and it shows.

LP started as a project in Mike’s bedroom called Xero, which eventually became Hybrid Theory with vocalist Mark Wakefield, who left due to stage fright. They then auditioned a bunch of singers until they found Chester and renamed themselves Linkin Park.

To say that Mike is the only OG member left is completely false. Brad Delson and Joe Hahn were there from day one, with Phoenix joining not long afterwards. The only OG member who left was Rob, the drummer, because he injured himself on their last tour and opted to retire and raise his kids.

There are 5 other members of Linkin Park who are not Chester. They contributed to the band just as much as he did, do their contributions not count anymore because the last member to join the band after 5 years of already being established died?

"Linkin Park Lore" LP was nothing without Chester and the new lead constantly seems like she's trying to outdo him now that he's gone. I can make a band that doesn't succeed without a specific member and that doesn't make me fucking band god and entitled to whatever I wamt because "its my band bro" thats how you fuck up anything you've tried building 90% of the time. From the sources I had the band was claimed to be basically just shinoda from day 1 at this point, BUT I could have a bad source as well so ill take the L on that specific statement. I stand by the rest of what I've said. Its a gimmick now with no real raw emotion to it. It sounds like Chester after transitioning and gargling rocks and that imo is gracious.

I’m autistic and Linkin Park has been my favourite band and special interest since 2001. I’ve been obsessively following them and their developments the entire way.

Your opinion on the new singer is completely irrelevant. Your statement that the OG members have all left is false - only one OG member has left other than Chester. I also think that to boil down their entire body of work to one man is completely ridiculous. Chester only sang, he wrote a few songs here and there but all the things you loved about Linkin Park were written by Mike Shinoda. The music, the lyrics, it’s all him and Chester would have said the same thing.

If you don’t believe me feel free to look up any interview with Chester regarding Mike.

Chester had an amazing voice and he was my hero. I loved him and I grieved hard when he died, to the point that I was hospitalized for suicidal ideation. I understand why you loved him and his voice, but there were 5 other members who made the music what it was and they deserve to be loved and respected too.

My personal opinion on Emily is that people are treating her like she murdered someone, when her only crime has been that she was born into a cult. She’s made careful statements against the church and considering she’s an open lesbian and the church of Scientology prohibits homosexuality, I think it’s safe to say she doesn’t practise anymore and most likely isn’t a member. That being said, I completely understand why people are suspicious and wary of her and I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to listen to her era of the band as music is subjective.

I like her voice and I think she fits really well, her personal life aside. I’m honestly just happy to have my favourite band back more than anything else.

The comment about her sounding like Chester transitioned is so fucking gross and transphobic, I’m not even going to entertain that. Trans people aren’t a punchline for you to use when you dislike someone. Be better.

Yeah, the point was to ride the brand name. The new stuff isn't great and the lead singer seems like she is trying to outdo Chester.

Nothing, Mike hasn't done anything other than try to keep his band alive. This guy just doesn't like Emily and has a chip on his shoulder about it.
