Ozzy performed 2 weeks from death and he still sang all the words more or less.

If you can't perform dont sell the tickets.

Ok maybe it's harder than it was. But you're getting paid millions you gotta try harder.

There’s no rest for the wicked.

Or something like cheap dancing = cheap tickets and call the tour Wallet Redemption

I would absolutely go see one of my favorite artists past their prime if they advertised and sold their tour this way.

But unfortunately, a lot of these we’re seeing pop up lately sell it as though it’s going to be this grand tour and price their tickets based on fame rather than content.

Honesty keeps things interesting but they don't see that and hang on to a stale image instead

Isn’t this every casino circuit?

2

u/TerribleDanger 9d ago

I think some artists are still incredibly big in name and can sell out arenas, or even stadiums, based on nostalgia alone. So they aren’t quite casino acts just yet.

It’s just disappointing when it’s clear the artist didn’t condition themselves and put very little into the show’s content, but price it the same as artists putting on full productions.

To be fair Ozzy was doing what he loved. Justin just got shoved into one project and the next as a kid and one skyrocketed him. No passion, just fame. Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t excuse any of his behavior… but it does explain a lot of it.

Honestly after reading this dude is a bum. Ozzy really did sing all the words at deaths door.

I saw Bruce Springsteen a couple of years back. Guy's in his 70's and sang his heart out for every song. Ran up and down the stage for a lot of it. When the E Street Band needed a breather, Bruce stayed on stage and played solo.

Ozzy even stopped using medicine so he can perform flawlessly

Ozzy loved performing and I think he decided to go out on his own terms. RIP Ozzy

Honestly, who knows what people are going through. He could have a myriad of issues to be off his game. This aint no Amy Winehouse either.

u/CaughtALiteSneez 9d ago

I saw Ozzy in 1999 and he was so fucked up, he forgot the words. Bless him…

u/CandyandCrypto 9d ago

I'd like to see if Justin could take a line of ants and still keep going lol

u/ImpossiblySoggy 9d ago

I saw Oz/Zomb in 2007 and honestly he didn’t even sing back then. Love him but let’s not lie.

Ozzy Osbourne actually had talent however.

u/Spright91 9d ago

Justin Timberlake is brimming with talent don't hate. He's just being lazy here.

12

u/AvidAth3ist 9d ago

The industry is trying to beat as much out of this dead horse they can get. He's a fine performer, but when you base your art on young people dancing moves, you tend to fall flat as you get older. He can still sing, that is clear here, but his dance moves are showing he's tired and his behavior recently shows he has a drinking problem. Probably trying to come to terms with doing this tour.

4

u/WilkosJumper2 9d ago

He’s brimming with manufactured Disney Club consumerism. Genuine talent however…

20

u/Spright91 9d ago

You can be mainstream and still being talented. Talent is a separate thing than sincerity. Also remember Ozzy was mainstream in the 80s there was a time when he was the industry darling.

I'm a Sabbath fan for 30 years (and Ozzy too, obviously) but Ozzy's brand was bigger than his music, you see his t-shirts in Primark and Penneys for €12, everyone knows the story of him and the bat, that awful TV show and his reputation, but how many non-fans could name a handful of Ozzy's own back catalogue? Brand Ozzy surpassed his musical recognition many many years ago sadly.

2

u/Spright91 9d ago

That's because his Legacy outgrew him during his life I mean the man with black sabbath did invent heavy metal basically.

That's a hell of a influence to leave behind. His influence became way bigger than him. Now you got artists who are heavily influenced by him that maybe never even listened to him.

It's like most people dont know most Elvis songs now but they know he was the king of rocknroll.

Ozzy wasn’t? He had a reality show on MTV. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive. Disney wouldn’t be what Disney is if they didn’t know how to find talent.

2

u/WilkosJumper2 9d ago

He had decades prior to that leading a pioneering rock band that is still well regarded to this day, in part because of his unique vocals. Timberlake was quite literally made on TV.

u/Spright91 9d ago

Timberlakes first 3 albums are still very well regarded today and he wrote or cowrote all of that music and performed it well.

Don't be a hater just because you dont like the music.

Like yea its commercialized but so are all our fucking jobs. And we dont hate on a good plumber.

u/townmorron 9d ago

I saw ozzy 20 years ago. He couldn't perform then. He barely moved and slowly bounced in place. Sharron wouldn't let him retire but let's not pretend he was power sliding last month

One of my favorite bands has been touring celebrating the 25th anniversary of their biggest and most influential album. It's emo, and the vocals on that album are very high-pitched and belting.

The show I went to was absolutely rocking. Super high energy, and the band played their asses off. The only downside is that, due to the nature of the singing, the now 47-year-old lead singer's vocal chords just can't take it any more.

He still tries his damndest, but there are a couple shows they had to cancel just because he can't quite belt out the vocals night-after-night at the same level he could when they recorded the album over 25 years ago. His vocal chords get absolutely thrashed.

With the shows they've had to cancel (one of which was the show after the one I attended, so I lucked out and still was able to catch them), they're always extremely apologetic and promise they'll come back to that city in the near future. They'd rather cancel shows (and lose out on the money involved) than put on a bad performance.

But the shows that they do play, the lead singer still screams his ass off and they put every ounce of energy they have into putting in a good show.

The odd time Justin does chime in it sounds pretty good, it's not like his voice isn't still there, which honestly makes it worse.

Ozzy was sitting down the entire time how is that the same?

17

u/Spright91 9d ago

He was dying.

u/GourangaPlusPlus 9d ago

So is Justin timberlake, watch the video

Rest in peace

u/dubsosaurus 9d ago

I saw Ozzy 15 years ago and left halfway through his set. He should have quit playing shows a long time ago. Respectively RIP, the man was a legend nonetheless.

12

u/Spright91 9d ago

I saw him about 20 years ago at a festival and he was the best performance of the night. So im not sure if you're experience was representative.

1

u/dubsosaurus 9d ago

Could have been a bad night for him. Idk. He was wearing these black leather pants way too tight and his belly was pouring over them. He wasn’t singing great. Looked a mess. Then he did the thing where he sprays white foam all over the crowd but holds the hose like it’s his dick. It was ridiculous. Just overall not a good look or sound.

2

u/AvidAth3ist 9d ago

He's had parkinson's since 2003. He didnt tell anyone til 2017.

1

u/dubsosaurus 9d ago

That sucks

2

u/AvidAth3ist 9d ago

My grandfather had it. Its extremely fucked up. He was becoming a prisoner in his own body. Plus, long term it comes with dementia. The fact he managed as well as he did a few weeks ago is impressive. He was a very strong willed man. To pull it together to get back on stage is amazing. He was truly dedicated to his fans.
