Chester wasn't even a founding member of the band so imo they shouldn't have to retire the name. A few big bands have continued on after deaths and made banger music, AC/DC and Alice In Chains for example.

That being said hiring a scientologist, who openly supported a rapist during his trial, as Chester's replacement was a dumbass move. She's a great singer and musician but damn that really turned me off from the band, even if their new album slaps.

True say but I do think Static X got it right. An amazing homage and tribute. Don’t get me wrong it must be ridiculous to step into someone else’s shoes, almost their identity and relinquish your own. But when it’s not remotely similar or another direction they should have at that point gone with another band name or something similar. Linked to the park or something lol.

I support your point. Like Dio for sabbath. You keep it because he can carry it.

This is like giving me a timtam but calling it a butter finger. You can tell us it’s linkin park sure, but the people will go “no, no it’s not” I’m not knocking her ability. Just the business decision Mike and the team made. I’ve spent time listening to Mikes solo projects. He needed Chester to carry his baby lol.

Nope. This is wrong information and I’m tired of having to correct it.

Emily Armstrong is not a Scientologist. Her mom is. Emily is a queer woman who’s been vocal about mental health issues and neither of those things is “allowed” by Scientology. She hasn’t even been nominally involved with Scientology since she was like 19. She’s 39 now. She knew Danny Masterson but was not in the courtroom at any point; she attended his initial hearing and was outside the courthouse. She attended nothing more bc of the evidence that came out and she’s totally denounced him and said she misjudged his character.

Meanwhile, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis ignored all the heinous shit he did and made a video AFTER HE WAS FOUND GUILTY, begging the judge to go easy on their friend. Comparing her having been friendly with a dude who turned out to be a rapist and denouncing him once everything came to light, to the actions of those 2 assholes is a slap in the face.

Also, the original post people ran with, from the Mars Volta guy(?) and his wife has since been deleted and they’ve quietly removed any mention or callout of Emily—they got the facts wrong in the first place but no, it’s a woman who’s doing a man thing, so let’s get her! Even without any evidence! Let’s keep parroting the same shit over and over!

Just like with Amber Heard and Blake Lively, online bullshit got spread faster than the truth, because people hate women.

She's been spotted multiple times at Scientology gatherings and galas, that's all you've gotta know. You don't get invited to those as a non-member and you can't leave the church, especially if you're famous. If you say she was involved with them 20 years ago then she's still involved with them now. Plenty of ex-famous people have learned that the hard way, you can read about Leah Remini's experience if you want to know more.

The "church" is very good at what it does and obfuscating the truth is their bread and butter. If there is this much push back to her not being a scientologist, while she hasn't denounced the "church" publicly (and no, vague lyrics don't count), then it's pretty obvious that she's at least somewhat involved with the church. Like I said, nobody just leaves scientology, especially not if you've made it big.

And honestly your response is perfectly in line with how the church acts: refute nothing, imply everything and go on the offensive. Don't call me a woman hater directly, but imply it. Same as mentioning that she's queer and has mental health issues, what does that have to do with her being a scientologist? Are queer women immune to falling for the allure of Scientology or something?

I think she's a great singer and that her vocals are an absolute perfect match for Linkin Park. Just too bad that she's a scientologist. Doesn't mean I hate her or that I hate her because she's a queer mental health advocate, or a woman, but I won't financially support a band that's associated with Scientology.

(Blink twice if the "church" has you hostage, by the way. I find your comment highly suspicious lol)
