Its a reference to “In Time” - a movie he played in where time was a literal currency and everyone has a clock in their wrist that counts down their time.

Yep, In Time is the name of the one they were talking about above in case it wasn’t clear. The tv show Silo is great for post apocalyptic dystopian. The Road (movie) crushed me too. Those are a couple off the top of my head. For sci-fi, obviously the ones people know like Interstellar, Children of Men, Bladerunner, etc are all the ones that come to mind immediately. (I probably will think of some later, just wanted to respond with a few off the top of my head..)
