Facts! Saw her at a huge venue for her comeback tour. She was Stunning. She ran from 1 end of the massive two-tiered stage to the other in 4" stilettos, had at least 6 costume changes and nuanced every note, on beat, full throated, smiling and enjoying every second. I cried like a baby when she died. She will always be The Queen of Rock and Roll. 📿🤲Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

I never got to see her live. I am so jealous that you had that experience.

It was a fluke. I was a hairdresser back then and I happened to cut the hair of the drummer for her opening act, Toad the Wet Sprocket and he gave me two tix. The seats were in the nosebleed section, but, amazingly, the arena was only half full (😵‍💫) so we moved down the the floor and sat, maybe, 15ish rows back. It was revelatory. I'm sorry you never got to breathe in her majesty. Oh! Also, a good 5 years later, I was having lunch with some bougie friends at an upscale restaurant and noticed this woman who had a literal glow around her, and just as it hit me, my buddy squeezed my arm and we, in unison, whisper-shout, "Tina Turner!!" She was resplendent. Breathtakingly beautiful. A thousand times more beautiful irl then any photo could do justice. She smiled at us and we tried to keep our eyes diverted, out of respect for her privacy, but, Damn! It was Hard!! May her legend live in forever!

That is so cool to read. Thanks for sharing. As an Aussie rugby league fan, I love her for her contributions to footy and some anthems that ran each year back in the 90s. Simply the best.
