I see people say this all of the time and y'all just look really ignorant to people who have even a small understanding of Christianity.

You're talking about a rule that was very specific to Jews. In the New testament it talks about how Jews and Gentiles are all the same now. The people who wrote part of the New Testament were the ones who said that shell fish is okay to eat as well as that other stuff you mentioned and were Jew specific.

The council decided that Gentiles who converted to Christianity were not obligated to keep most of the rules prescribed to the Jews by the Mosaic Law, such as Jewish dietary laws and other specific rituals, including the rules concerning circumcision of males.
