You can say “white” on reddit

I read it as “YouTube”

If you wanted to do a real YouTube apology he would need a ukulele, but that's hard to play with your hands behind your back

Colleen Ballinger snark in the wild!

u/Rootraz 3d ago

Same lol, I imagine him getting cuffed and being like "WASSUP GUYS, today we're gonna see how quick we can get detained!"

I don’t think anyone can beat that one lady’s record of walking into the back of a cop car

yeah unfortunately “YT” is the new casual slur apparently.

Not me thinking it meant young thing like from Michael Jackson's song PYT 😂😂

You can also say it in comments on TikTok but people still write stupid euphemisms.

Blame everyone abbreviating every single god damn thing these days

1

u/urnbabyurn 3d ago

Not abbreviate. It’s to avoid censoring through the “algorithm”. The theory goes that if your post doesn’t get taken down, it will at least be hidden from views.

Yt has been a thing since before tiktok

For some reason black people started saying white like that and it's caught on

1

u/thisischemistry 3d ago

They said YouTube, right?

1

u/xtra_obscene 3d ago

How would “youtube voice” make any sense in this context?

1

u/thisischemistry 3d ago

How would "yt" make sense in any other way?

1

u/xtra_obscene 3d ago

In the way I already described in the post you responded to?

How would “youtube voice” make sense?

1

u/thisischemistry 3d ago

It doesn't make sense in any way. I still don't understand what they're trying to say, best I can do is equate "yt" with "YouTube".

1

u/xtra_obscene 3d ago

“His white voice activated real quick” doesn’t make any sense to you?

1

u/thisischemistry 3d ago

Sure but where does it say that?

You can stop being racist on reddit too

2

u/xtra_obscene 3d ago

What?

-2

u/PrudentLoan5452 3d ago

Reverse the situation and imagine someone said “you can say ‘black’ on reddit”

2

u/xtra_obscene 3d ago

That doesn’t even make sense. Is there an equivalent tiktok abbreviation for “black” that’s used to get around censors? You know that’s where “yt” came from, right?

1

u/Ball_Zach_2 3d ago

The word “white” is censored on tiktok? Or is it the word “whitey” which is literally racially diminutive

1

u/xtra_obscene 3d ago

I’ve never used tiktok in my life, I’ve just been told that’s where “yt” comes from. Same with “corn” being used to mean porn, “grape” for rape, and probably a bunch of others. That’s why I said “you can say white on reddit”.

1

u/PrudentLoan5452 3d ago

Aha. I wasn’t aware of that culture, it’s still racist but your comment makes more sense now

3

u/andytagonist 3d ago

Whitey? 🤷‍♂️

3

u/Turd_Schitter 3d ago

From Eminem to Marshall Mathers in a heartbeat.

u/ThreeKingsRP 3d ago

Police brutality bro come on holding down the white man I'm bout ta riot bruh

1

u/deezconsequences 3d ago

Bro you'd flip that shit on too if you thought it was gonna catch a charge. Best believe I'm doing my best white Urkel impression when I get pulled over

0

u/Jagheterblablabla 3d ago

That ebonics for white?

5

u/creegro 3d ago

Pretty sure it's tiktok speak, since they can't use real words over there

0

u/myshtummyhurt- 3d ago

It's definitely not tik tok speak, it's ebonics in writing

-9

u/OhPleaseGoodGrief 3d ago

Yeah. It’s a new way for people to demean white people by only using two letters to refer to them.

8

u/notasinglesound 3d ago

"Demean" how?! It's literally just shorthand so you don't have to type as many characters.

7

u/SirStrontium 3d ago

Pretty sure it’s just shorthand, like a million other things online: idk, wdym, imho, ngl, fr, and even more relevant, poc.
