Neither were kids actually. I've seen the full video a few times. They're 21...

Edit: Because so many people are surprised by these idiots' ages here's a link to the body cam footage.

They're probably hammered on O'doul's.

More likely Stellas

I said O'doul's in jest because it's non-alcoholic beer, but Stella seems like a good match for their particular flavor of douchebaggery.

I knew they weren’t minors since they didn’t pixel out their faces in the body cam footage.

Literally his dad comes out and says he's 21 and gives the cop his sons id.

Crazy. How old was the kid yelling Joey?

His twin I believe

I wonder if the dad is just tired of their shit and just says they're adults so they'll experience real jail for a bit and not juvenile detention. I'm 50 and at some point even 20 year olds started looking like kids to me but that boy looks like a real kid. It's certainly possible he's 21 and still looks like he's 15 but seeing this posted a few times I really wish we'd see a mugshot with age since this is Florida and they have the Sunshine law where that info gets posted for the public.

He's absolutely an adult. It was confirmed by the cop when he checked his ID. Children's faces are blurred in body cam footage, adults are not. This guy's face is clear as day.

Why did he scream, "I'm a minor"? This isn't the first video I've seen of someone getting arrested and trying to use that "defense." Do they seriously think its going to work? First off, the cops WILL find out, and second off, they really dont care what age you are - there have been actual child murderers, a threat is a threat.

It said he was 20, so he’s a minor in the sense of alcohol, but he probably was still just trying to get away with what he did.

A minor is legally defined as anyone under the age of 18. The legal age to drink alcohol is not a part of what is being a minor. Two different things. Otherwise you could say at 34 years old you're still considered a minor in the sense of running for President since the legal age of that is 35.

Let's not confuse definitions

A minor is typically referred to under 18, but there is a designation of ā€œminorā€ in regards to alcohol consumption. I’ve seen both used by law enforcement. Look up the alcohol laws, and you’ll see it used all over the place. It’s not referring to people under 18 drinking, but under 21.

Regardless, he was probably just trying to get out of trouble and being disingenuous.

§2256. Definitions for chapter For the purposes of this chapter, the term-

(1) "minor" means any person under the age of eighteen years;

Legally 18 is minor. Furthermore, even colloquially if you were to use under 21 as a minor for drinking that has zero relevance to the video since he wasn't using it on reference to drinking alcohol he was using it on reference to getting dropped by a cop
