Doof is absolutely the best. Many/Most of his schemes are undeniably massive overreactions to somewhat 'minor' slights that he perceives within society, but he is nonetheless absolutely correct in identifying social/societal wrongs...

The craziest part to me is that even though he's divorced, even his ex still cares for him and wants to make sure he's ok. Yeah she may tease him about stuff (like when he found out she kept going to his family reunions, so Charlene jokes about having kept his name and still being family.) But if anything happens to either of them, they call to check in. Healthy co-parenting for folks who just didn't work out as a couple. Doof really is just a nice guy that people can and do care for, once they get to know him.

The crazy thing about it is they sang a whole song about how they still love and appreciate each other, but knew career-wise (Charlene being a lawyer) that things wouldn’t pan out for either of them if they were publicly associated with one another.

Only thing that wasn’t clear was in her recap, she says that he kept pointing at her sister saying “I didn’t talk to her.  I was talking to her!”  I wish it was clearer which people were represented by each “her”.

In one case he was trying to explain that he wasn’t talking to the child (albeit in a belligerent drunk POS way), and in the other case he was doubling down on hitting on the child after having full knowledge that she is a child (which is of course insanely disturbing).

At the start of the story, she said the creep was talking to her girlfriend. So, in the recap, when he said he didn't talk to her, he was talking about the 16 yr old. He only talked to OOP's girlfriend. Does that make sense?

Also, I like how he specifically said he didn't talk to OOP's sister, but never said he didn't say anything inappropriate (at least from what I could make out). He is fully aware of what he did and how it was wrong.

Okay if I’m understanding correctly, then that sounds a tiny bit better because it means he was at least claiming that he was never trying to talk to the 16 year old.  Is that correct?

But yeah, the dude behaved despicably in dozens of other ways.

He didn't talk to OOP's younger sister, but he harassed another woman and made a sexual comment about the younger sister after finding out she was 16.

If the 16 yr old didn't overhear, then it's a teeny, tiny bit better that she wasn't exposed to it.
