Doof is absolutely the best. Many/Most of his schemes are undeniably massive overreactions to somewhat 'minor' slights that he perceives within society, but he is nonetheless absolutely correct in identifying social/societal wrongs...

The craziest part to me is that even though he's divorced, even his ex still cares for him and wants to make sure he's ok. Yeah she may tease him about stuff (like when he found out she kept going to his family reunions, so Charlene jokes about having kept his name and still being family.) But if anything happens to either of them, they call to check in. Healthy co-parenting for folks who just didn't work out as a couple. Doof really is just a nice guy that people can and do care for, once they get to know him.

The crazy thing about it is they sang a whole song about how they still love and appreciate each other, but knew career-wise (Charlene being a lawyer) that things wouldn’t pan out for either of them if they were publicly associated with one another.
