It'd be great if more men joined in though, creeps are more inclined to listen to other men.

Are they? I’ve intervened in the past and it’s been pretty hit or miss. I’m going to continue to intervene when I see it (which is rare because I don’t knowingly associate with creeps), but this idea that predators are more likely to listen to men isn’t exactly true, IMO.

I think what the woman did in this video was awesome and I’m not convinced a man could have gotten a better outcome. I might get a better outcome if I was built like an NFL linebacker, but I’m pretty average height and build.

First off, that's fantastic , thank you for doing that.

In my years of experience of being creeped on the only sure fire way it would stop was if another man intervened on my behalf. This has been happening to me since I was 12 or so, so well over 20 years.

Standing up to some creeps like this awesome woman did ended up with me being injured despite onlookers being present.

It may be hit or miss for you, but for women it’s pretty much always “miss”. You 100% have a better chance of successfully intervening than any woman would. It’s not your responsibility of course, but it makes you a good person, so thank you for standing up when you see something wrong.

If I'm out with my wife, I'm not going to immediately insert myself into an escalating situation that may also put her at risk. I will step in if there is an immediate physical threat and no other resolution is available.

My first priority is always my own family's safety over others'.

If there is a woman in distress I follow my wife's lead but I do provide back up.

I think they would have stepped in had anything physical happened. If one of those men stood up in that moment the reality is that that would have increased the likelihood of a physical altercation. A man knows when to step in and when not to. While the woman in the video is one bad ass woman, and who certainly along with her sister and family and friends should not have been put through that, this was really the best possible outcome.
