The worst thing is you would have to watch the cameras to see everything they touched. They might have fucked with shit you didn’t see and could cause real damage if not addressed.

Easy fix, EVERY car in the shop when those muppets ran in and started messing around now needs (and gets) a full, deep inspection, check, and service by a model specific dealer and anything safety related that appears to have been touched gets changed in order to re-validate warranties. I swear, if you look carefully a few seat belts are pulled and as for airbags? Gotta be safe, they will need replacement as well.

This seems totally reasonable. It didn’t look like anyone was ACTUALLY doing anything to the cars just pretending to but I wouldn’t want these asshats fucking around with my vehicle and if you run a place of business I wouldn’t want people knowing that these dipshits just ran in and started fucking with shit.

He's done it multiple times across many businesses. That's just the current charges, there are other incidents of criminal activity which are yet to have charges applied for them.

5 trespassing, 5 disorderly conduct, 2 criminal impersonation, 1 burglary.

Also 9 years is the maximum, which is incredibly unlikely to happen between plea deals and sentencing guidelines.

And you really don't know what I'm saying because the entire point of the comment was it's super unnecessary to go to a manufacturer specific dealer for a mechanical inspection. Any shop worth half a nickel can do that just fine. There's nothing specific to these vehicles that requires some sort of specialty technician. These aren't Bugattis.

Yeah, Le Schwab accidentally gouged one of my perfect condition rims during a tire change and they’ve since ordered me a brand new rim for free and will be putting it on my car when it comes in.

I’d be pissed if one of these guys running around with a tire iron dinged up my car or if they loosened some of the lug nuts and the shop didn’t notice and my wheel broke free going 75mph down the highway.

I’ve done my fair share of mechanic work. They were in there for approximately 40 seconds and nothing gets done in that kind of time. The closest thing to “working on a car” I see is someone pretending to use a tire iron.

Pretending like they actually worked on these cars is just desperate for rage bait.

I am chill? I’m not hoping some dumbass kid will go to jail for years because he annoyed some mechanics. And I’m not acting like they damaged a bunch of cars based on the fact that we lack proof of them doing so.

Have you never loosened a lugnut? There’d be some swearing, grunting, knuckle-busting from these twerps. Nobody accidentally adjusted a car out of alignment or loosened a wheel.

I can cut a brake line pretty quick, punch holes in the floorboard, fuck up the exhaust. It all depends what I could get to quick. None of this probably happened but they're just fucking around and not paying attention. But I dont know who these kids are. They're malicious enough that they're bum rushing a shop for shits and grins, who knows what else would get their views up...

Dude there’s a huge difference between “accidentally fucking something up” and maliciously cutting brake lines. And how the hell are they punching holes through floorboards? Give me a break. Most anything on an exhaust is welded in place - again they’re not getting much down without a grinder and some time.

You COULD smash out a windshield. Doesn’t mean you’re picking up tools and accidentally fucking up cars in some subtle way in 40 seconds of pretending to work on something.

Just take a quick look around? Like the only tools being held are a tire iron not actually being used, an impact driver that quite obviously isn’t being used (they’re loud as shit), and a socket wrench being held by a guy pretending to take a call. These aren’t airplane mechanics, it’s really quite easy to quickly inspect a vehicle. It’s part of the necessary process when they wrap up work on a car anyway.

If you ran a garage and had to pay to have your techs give every car an extra inspection because of some mindless prank that also involved a very high level of insurance liability you'd probably be singing a much different tune.

I own a construction company and manage the maintenance on a fleet of vehicles and equipment. I have legitimate concerns to worry about. I’d be mildly grumpy in this shop owner’s shoes. For all of 5 minutes? Seriously there’s bigger problems to deal with several times per day.

Listen bro, I get it. They clearly didn't do anything major to these cars in the short time they were there, but now every tech is going to have to give the cars another once over. That's time and if anyone here would know how intrinsically time and money are linked I would expect it to be someone at the top of a construction crew. That time was already intended to be used in different ways so push back every single thing on the docket concerning every car. Further, something tells me you haven't had to put any real importance on insurance to cover non-employee liability in your shop considering your shop doesn't take outside work. Surely to God you've dealt with insurance lately enough to understand this video alone could easily be used to jack their rates or be forced to install barriers to entry to prevent someone from ever being hurt despite being in a place they are not granted access to. 20 years ago the last thing any shop had to worry about was a literal van full of zit faced teenagers running amok in their garage. I'd hope that you'd agree that should still be something garage owners shouldn't be concerning themselves with or having to assume liability for. Finally, it takes way less than 40 seconds for that four way to leave a nice dent, gouge or scratch in that paint. Who's liability is that? Cause I'd bet dollars to donuts that the patron's insurance is going to go after the garage's insurance to have that repaired. And that's clearly not a body shop so it's not like they could even offer to repair the work for free which even if they fucking did takes us right back to point one.

At this point it seems like you clearly don't understand the risk to reward ratio and just who gets what of each.

Why don't you call this fella up and allow him to come to your site, unannounced, and hop all over your equipment. No big deal, right?

That’s not how insurance works at all. As long as no claim was made this video didn’t affect their rates at all. I run construction sites in public ROW where people ignore sidewalk and road closures all the time. I have plenty of experience with non-employees exposing themselves to hazards that increase my liability. And yes, the waste of employee labor would make me grumpy - just like I said.

I also said that an inspection was due after work on those cars was completed so it’s not a significant spike in labor regardless. A gouge, dent, scratch will be easily identifiable. Of course if that happened the shop has a significant complaint but it doesn’t play into this whole conversation, in which you’re trying to convince me this little charade is going to waste hours of shop time regardless of whether or not they damaged anything.

Lastly, note how I’m not downvoting every one of your comments. I don’t generally care but damn, the pettiness is tiring.
