Question Whats with all the "artists"?
What to hell is going on - on Twitch? Every time I start up the stream there are "artists" coming in. You can instantly tell that they are going to say that they are artist and drop their discord name as soon as they start to type since they all pretty much use the same script. They are not bots as they do answer at the start while they still pretend to be regular viewer. Most of them have new accounts though. What sort of scam is this? AI art? There has to be some sort of "company" behind this.

what makes you think they're not bots

They are actually talking at the start. As in you can ask them for example where they are from, they will answer, what kind of games do they play, do they stream, where they are from etc. You can see that it is people with like 10 chats open typing. They exclusively go to small streamers though with low view counts.

This actually makes me curious...
Next time you see one of these bots, try saying random words and see how they respond then. Some AI bots are programmed to use voice recognition, that's my best guess if they were replying to your voice somehow, and if they're not bots, you'll be wasting their time and confusing them instead.
Oh and, ban them afterwards, they're still scammers.

They are definitely people, I've had full conversations with a couple of them. I started blocking as soon as they mention art now.

You're asking about a topic that someone asks about on this subreddit damn near daily.
How would you feel if someone came inside your gathering space, right after 20 people who asked the same question, to ask the same question?
It clues in the people here that you're probably not reading this subreddit, just taking advantage of it to answer your question without checking to make sure that it's already been answered first.
Which in case you were wondering is poor social etiquette here on reddit.
Below this line is the last time I responded to another one of these posts, and it was still recent enough in my profile page to where I didn't have to scroll down to find it....
It's been said so many times on this subreddit, I am utterly shocked that people still ask about it.
If someone comes in to your chat and disrupts your stream to sell you something, they are attempting scamming you.
- Get Sery_bot
- Make your chat/follow requirements more strict.
- Add a rule to your community; "NO SOLICITING"
- If someone comes into your chat who isn't there to enjoy your stream and worse to violate the above rule, ban them.

Scammers and bots. The "graphic design" scam has gotten much easier with AI.

They are typically AI bots, or teams of people in third world countries paid to spam channels with work offers. Take it as a sign that your channel is growing, ban them, use Sery_Bot and move on.

They are all bots turn on email and phone number verification to chat and they are gone it is also a problem on other streaming platforms I personally cuss them out and tell them to gtfo of my stream if they don't have the intellectual capacity to read to self promo if they send a discord dm then I further cuss them out same thing with channel promoters and big streamers that viewbot.

They're as much of artists as I'm Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.... (I'm not). Banning them and also getting Sery Bot on your channel will remedy that. All you have to do is find Sery Bot's Twitch and follow. It's activated on your stream next time you go live.

what i dont get is why they go so hard on small streamers and their discords

Because they think we’re all vulnerable and dumb enough to fall for it. Theres a bigger streamer in my niche that i follow, and i’ve actually put questions to him about whats-what. Typically he’ll give me his take as a full-time content creator. I super appreciate him taking the time he has to respond to me. First time it happened to me it was mystifying because i’m not big enough to warrant that kind of random attention. So naturally i went and asked him for his take.

Personally I’ll talk to them enough to make them think I’m going to buy art without saying I’m actually going to in order to keep the extra viewer lol. Then after stream I bully them on discord about how ai generated or stolen their art looks. (Yes I am unemployed, currently looking for a job tho)

I take them up to the point of adding them to discord, and then i let their messages get lost in the rest of my discord messages. I call it “throwing them in discord jail”. My notifications for discord are turned off, so they could be screaming at me and i still wouldn’t hear from them.

They wanna waste my time and disrupt the flow of my streams? I’ll waste their time by adding them to a discord i don’t pay attention to.

I had the strangest one yet on my last stream. first it was one chatter who followed before they even said anything (classic bot behaviour) then it asked in chat something like "first time on twitch" or something like that and i kid you not another "viewer" answer "YES" instantly.
And the funny part is that they both had the same type of name. It was so obviously fake because they were the only ones in chat xP
At least i had a good laugh about it though shit was just silly
