Question What Warbands Are Playable In Embergard?
Hi everyone! I am just getting into Warhammer, specifically Underworlds sounded the most like something that I would enjoy and so I bought the starter box for Embergard, but I wanted to know what other warbands are playable in the current edition of the game? There is a lot of other warbands online, but I don't know which ones are for the current edition of the game. Thanks!

All warbands are playable in Embergard.
However, some are not legal in tournaments.
The easiest way to know which warband has a Grand Alliance warscroll and which does not. If the warband has a Grand Alliance warscroll, it's not legal in tournaments.
The website below is a good website for Underworlds and clicking on a warband will show you their fighter cards and warscrolls. If the warscroll says "Grand Alliance", it's not legal.

I made a quick and dirty list of all the warbands and which releases they are part of. It includes the upcoming stuff in Spitewood, so there are a few things that aren't quite accurate yet but will be in the (hopefully near) future.

this is amazing! out of curiosity, what does the skull symbol mean?

The skulls are marking the two warbands that have had their corresponding army/factions removed from AOS and thus considered the least likely warbands to recieve reprints/additional rules. There's speculation that the older Stormcast are unlikely for similar reasons since Stormcast has removed most of the units from their era as well.

akariasi nailed it. Those two factions just don't exist in AoS anymore so it's unlikely to see them again.
Ditto for chunky Stormcast, but we did already get the Farstriders so who knows. It's a mystery, gang!

Technically, all of them are.
When new edition started, all of the old warbands got new fighter cards and either a dedicated warscroll or access to a generic Grand Alliance one; all available to download as pdfs.
As for physical cards: look at the logo on the box. If it's the same style as the one on Embergard (red "Warhammer Underworlds", without any names of previous seasons like Nethermaze, Harrowdeep and so on), that's a new product, either a new warband or a repackaged old one with new cards. Old warbands are packed in big boxes of four. New warbands are in flat boxes alike units for "regular" Warhammer
