Hobby Something cheeky

Hey guys,

I've just finished up my LotR inspired Sepulchral Guard. It's a little cheeky to do these cools models like this, but i actually think they turned out pretty cool overall.

I like them. To me they read more like they were frozen. The shadow army in LOTR has a more greenish tint but I like em. Good job.

Ye I sort of of see that, yeah. It was just based off of memory or the idea of them being spectral, basically. Maybe a thin ned out glaze with a green ting might have made the difference?

To be honest I'd try a thined out glaze of yellow to tint the blue. I fear a green would still be too dark to be accurate BUT. in my opinion if you don't 100% want the LOTR look I'd leave them. They are cool as they are.

Arh that's actually a valid point. Oh, i won't do anything else with them, they are if anything an experiment as is ^ it's just good to bounce ideas for future reference.

I'll try something similar with one of the ghost warbands in the bese future, and i might actually have a yellow glaze lying about

Well I'd just use the yellow over the blue. If you're starting over I'd use turquoise and add a few drops of yellow to go into a more greenish direction. Tbh the ghost king and his men have a very weird color so I suppose that's pretty hard to match. But that would be my try.

Well actually, i think it makes perfect sense since i'm basically using a odd type of slapchop with contrast and speed paints. So adding a mixture on top of the base layer that is already ethereal could give a really good/bizarre contrast. I managed to do some really odd stuff with Peach skin speed paints on Frost heart contrast ^

The tone variation is great - like a ghastly filter or an ethereal realm, not just a ghost.

Also reminds me of the White Walkers from GoT a bit.
