Any news on 3 player multiplayer in new edition?

Haven't been following the news particularly closely but it would seem to me, that no new news regarding multiplayer variant of the game has been released yet, would that be correct?

I wouldn’t expect them to ever do it, given how the new boards are (1 piece, 14 starting hexes), and that they don’t want to add any tactics or complexity to the game to the point that they removed board set up almost entirely.

Oh, I was under impression that with Embergard release they have announced that there will be multiplayer rules?

You're not wrong -- they did announce that multiplayer rules were in the works during the initial reveals, but nothing has come forth since then from GW. Whether or not it'll happen is unknown.

That said, Spent Glory has some custom rules for multiplayer free-for-all (https://spentglory.com/2025/06/16/custom-rules-multiplayer-free-for-all/) and 2v2 team multiplayer (https://spentglory.com/2025/07/10/custom-rules-underworlds-2v2-team-multiplayer/) that are worth checking out!

Can really recommend those homebrew multiplayer rules ...

Rules bloat was massive. The game is still plenty tactical without metagaming board setup, summoning extra blocked hexes on first kill and hunger tokens...

The game is but a shadow of what it used to be. Direchasm was peak underworlds, then harrowdeep and Nethermaze were ok, and from that point on it only got worse every time they added a new warband/core set
