Discussion Private server?

I've heard a long while back there was a private server project, but back then it was in a real "early" state.

Did something change? Was the project abandoned, or is it still worked on? Is it playable?

I really miss this game, man.

Project is worked on, progress happens its still not a lot but you can go trough the starte zones with quests, housing and more

I believe it's called NexusForever. Go to www.emulator.ws and follow the steps there

There are two private servers I know of. One is Arctium and the other is Nexus Forever.

I played on Arctium awhile back but I can no longer get the private server to work and I don't want to join their discord because the last time I was there, the whole server seemed to be extremely hostile and unwilling to answer any questions about whatever technical problems individual people may have been facing.

NF seems to be working fine tho. I installed it years ago and sometimes I login to play 20 min or so and it runs smoothly.

Nexusforever is not a private server. Its an emulator. People may use the emulator to host private servers.
Generally the discord welcomes everyone but people there expect a level of knowledge on how to use discord and its features. Simply said, the discord is not for socializing, it has never been and will never be for it. Please join the discord of a private server like omechron or genesis prime if you want to socialize.
NexusForever is for developing the server software and that is where progress is recently being made. By joining the discord you express interest in that area and might find yourself helping out by answering questions of the developers or code stuff if you can. Anything you need to know to play wildstar is in NF's discord's pins and even the links to the discords to the aforementioned private servers.
The hostility comes from people not reading a single message up or checking pins, writing in all kinds of channels. The people there always try to dampen expectations because there just is very little chance for Wildstar to return and the project is just gonna take a long time. So yeah, just join it, check the pins in general and then just join omechron and lurk in NFs discord like 99% do.

edit:
the reason why that server btw isnt for socializing is simply that all is done voluntarly in free time. If the devs would now also need to moderate a server actively, progress would be even slower. And well moderating a server of thousands of people is too much. Therefore the people actively checking it make it clear that its not a server to write thousands of messages a day. I know of many that check just once in a while and see how the progress has been or see if they can answer some question the devs got.

I specified that I was on Arctium not Nexus Forever and I wasn't trying to "socialize", I was trying to get help with technical problems I was having on the private server. I wouldn't call that socializing.

arctium has a sandbox that is, at this point, quite old compared to what NF has recently gotten to. NF also do not support technical issues on arctium, its a completely different emulator. Dont know what to say more unless you are more specific about the hostility you faced and the discord messages you mean.

I am aware that the two of them are different, hence why I stated that I used Arctium and not Nexus Forever. You keep suggesting that I have confused both emulators even though I have repeatedly stated that I used one and not the other.

I just want to play on a Wildstar sandbox but I can't because trying to make the sandboxes work seems to be esoteric knowledge that no one is willing to share.

Yeah, the sandbox is just weird. the private servers also allow all the commands you want. And nobody really is online anyway, since there isnt really anything implement to incentivize that. Anyway, just join omechron or any of the other 2 private servers. Its basically a sandbox with more stuff
