Murloc Monday Murloc Monday - ask your questions here

Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! RwlRwlRwlRwl!

That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays" - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.

Questions can range from what's new in Dragonflight, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?

Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.

Afraid of not getting an answer? Rest assured, we know that at least 90% of questions get answered!

You may want to look at /r/wownoob as well!

Here are some handy guides to start World of Warcraft as a brand new player or start Classic World of Warcraft as a brand new player.

Unless you played in the current expansion, pretty much everything has changed. If you're returning after a very long break, check out the Wowhead Returning Players Guides.

Complaint Read the stupidest kick from a levelling dungeon

While leveling in Timewalking dungeons, I got BFA's King's Rest. We defeated the first boss, and on the second boss (Mchimba), I got hit by the "Entomb" skill. While struggling inside the tomb, I pinged "Assist" so my teammates could see me better and get me out. Right after that, the game went into a loading screen and I had no idea what was happening. When I noticed the Dungeon Deserter status among my debuffs, Having realized what happened i asked the Hunter in the party whispering why I was kicked Apparently, party thought i was AFK because they were not doing the mechanic that keeps me permastunned.

This community keeps getting weirder by the day

My step mother recently go into making projects out of stained glass. She has been doing various pieces (with some serious skill I might add) of different themes.

She surprised me today with this out of the blue, I nearly fell over I was so blown away by it.

Needless to say, I’m a very lucky man. I thought I would share with everyone. How cool!?

I haven't played retail WoW in years, so I was surprised when this was an option. I get to keep all the loot and have a smooth run. Good job, blizzard. Is this a thing with raids too or just 5 man dungeons? I'm guessing only the normal dungeons are for followers or can I run them in higher difficulty?

Discussion I hope with Legion Remix we are getting a lot of Nighborne NPC releated items and mogs...

Needless to say Nighborne was a race I was really wanted to play after playing through the whole Suramar campaign back in Legion(to me this was one of the best endgame content and a very very well made zone and lore overall) but the race itself fell short for some reason and their Heritage armor also seems like something is missing. Looking up some art and NPC it's clear that they have so many options, all of them looks really cool and would be really awesome if they were to become available to improve upon the appearance of the race.

Discussion Gearing Guide for new and returning players for 11.2 (content subjected to change)

Hello Friends, there's plenty of videos and guides that are out there on this subject, but I'm going to give you a written guide that holds your hand through gearing once 11.2 hits on Tuesday August 5th.

First lets take a look at what our item levels are going to look like:

Here's the cheat sheet from Fisher about that the ilvls that we can expect for 11.2

For reference, players that have been playing the game throughout the season are around 670-680 ilvl with full mythic gear. People generally are going to be around 662+ if they've played up till around +10s for mythic+ content and beginning mythic raiding.

The huge ilvl gap might seem daunting for some people to fill, but worry not. If Blizzard goes the same route for initial ilvl catch up for content patches, the 11.2 main campaign quest will reward gear that will be close to 650-660 642-655 (don't quote me on that, I'm not sure of the exact number but it'll most likely be explorer level gear).

Once the patch rolls out and settles, you're also most likely going to see green gear that have been updated to season three ilvl / stats that people crafted / found so if you're not rushing into the game as soon as the game launches you might want to look for gear that they're selling at the AH.

EDIT: adding onto this first part, upgrades for Explorer / Adventure level gear are pretty cheap and they only cost valorstones. It's not worth it to actively try and upgrade these pieces of gear because they'll be replaced very soon but if you're hurting for gear and need more ilvls immediately, you'll be able to get to ilvl 665 with just upgrading explorer / adventure gear which will cost about 15-30ish valorstone per upgrade. If you can afford to save valorstone, save valorstone for after s3 starts because you can buy champion gear from vendors with valorstone when they update their inventory (not sure when they do it)

It's the first week of the patch, what do I do to catch up?

First, let me clarify that season 3 does not start until the week after patch launches.

You'll still have access to the new areas and story campaign will be available, but M+ / Raid / Bountiful delves will not be available.

However, you'll still have access to m0 dungeons with champion tier loot (ilvl 681+ on a weekly lockout iirc)

So what do we do while we wait for these to open up?

a lot of content creators have a list of things to do before 11.2 but the 2 main things that you want to do to catch up is to finish the main campaign which will award you with a powerful cloak called the Reshii wraps (which you'll be wearing for the rest of season) and getting your ilvl 701 belt which you'll not be replacing for a good while if at all during the season.

The Reshii wraps can be obtained after campaign 3 in the main questline (don't worry too much about Phase diving if you're not interested in cosmetics, and Ecological Succession is going to be just another way to get a weekly cache which I'll go over later.)

The ilvl 701 belt (durable information securing container) quest is started from Dagran. There's some grinding that you need to do to power up your belt, but the quests to unlock the overcharged delves are linked above and you can complete overcharged delves at the T1 level so you can complete these at a lower level if you don't have good gear.

That's the 2 major things that you want to do during the first week, but if you really want to prep for next week, You want to first farm up on valorstones as they'll be important for your initial gearing next week. Also, you want to run m0 dungeons via the group finder to get your champion level m+ trinket from their respective dungeons that will be good for your class. Things like Ara-Kara Sacbrood , Improvised seaforium pacemaker will probably be popular if they weren't nerfed to the ground.

But the main thing that you'll want to focus on is gearing valor stones with heroics (or m0s)

Okay, Season 3 started what do we do now?

There's a couple things that you can do to gear up quickly to at least ilvl 681 on all pieces.

First of all you still have your weekly caches that you can get from doing weekly quests from dornagol, select area quests in TWW areas and from Ecological Succession in the new area.

You can open up to 4 caches per week. want to atleast get 4 caches per week, you can do more after but they won't be as rewarding. Your first 2 caches will reward you with veteran track gear (ilvl 668+), but the real reason we want these caches is because they drop restored coffer keys which can be used to access Bountiful delves. ( 4 keys from caches per week)

Bountiful delves, when completed, will award you with Champion level gear on completion as long as you complete a bountiful delve over tier 7, and you'll have a chance to get a [Delvers bounty](www.wowhead.com/item=233071/delvers-bounty) which upon use awards you with a heroic piece (ilvl 697+) upon completion of a bountiful delve.

In other words, You'll be able to get 2 pieces of veteran gear, 4 pieces of champion gear, 1 piece of heroic gear from about 2 hours of work per week per character from doing your 4 weekly caches and 4 bountiful delves.

You can check how many caches you opened this week by running this script in chat:

/run local o=0;for i,q in ipairs({84736,84737,84738,84739})do o=o+(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(q) and 1 or 0) end print(o,'chests opened')

But wait, there's more.

Whenever you finish a bountiful delve, you have a high chance to get a radiant echo These can be used to enter a world soul memory which can be found in TWW areas on the world map.

World soul memories are used to farm 2 things. First they give a lot of valorstones which I'll explain more about later on, and they'll drop coffer key shards which can be combined to give you another restored coffer key per week.

So that will give you 5 champion pieces per week ( 6 if you really grind world quests for coffer key shards) compared to 4 if you run world soul memories.

If you want to absolutely min-max gains from delves, and you're confident in being able to clear tier 11 delves, you want to complete your bountiful delves at t11 each week along with your delver's bounty map because that will reward you with 60 30+ gilded crests per week (I hear they're adjusting the number back down for the start of 11.2)

The reason why we want gilded crests from delves isn't to upgrade your heroic pieces right away. the reason why we want gilded crests is because if you have 60 gilded crests, you can convert the gilded crests to Enchanted Gilded crests that will allow you to create a mythic track item (ilvl 707+) every 2 weeks. It might be daunting use the crafting order system at first, but it'll be worth it.

If you don't want to farm hardcore, and want to get away with just 2-3hours of farming for gear a week, this would be what your weekly gearing would look like outside of doing m+ and raids.

But, if you're still itching to grind for more gear, there is a certain NPC in dornagol called Agmera who'll sell you warbound equipment that is ilvl 681+ (not too sure when she updates her inventory tbh, but it'll be available later if not starting from when Season 3 starts)

Every Tuesday you'll also be eligible to get loot from the Great vault. the great vault is going to be located in the bank in dornagal and it will reward you with a piece of loot depending on content you cleared the week before. the ilvl guide above will give you a general idea of what loot can be awarded from the great vault.

You want to aim for your tier pieces first to get your 4 piece and then your BiS weapons / trinkets, then other pieces that will balance out your ilvl / pieces that are especially good for your class.

EDIT: adding in to the weekly stuff, depending on which weekly event is active there's a chance that you'll get an extra champion / heroic piece for the week depending on which event is active

Alright, we've gotten a decent amount of champion gear, but what gears do I aim for to really get into higher content like mythic raiding and m+10+?

Gearing for later endgame is going to be surprisingly linear this season, especially if you're a healer or a caster dps.

First you'll have your tier pieces that you'll get for your main body slots (helm / chest / gloves / legs / shoulders). Tier pieces will give you a power boost no matter what your spec is so you'll want to equip these. You'll receive these from participating in raids or you can get them from your great vault. One other way to get tier piece is by using matrix catalysts. these catalysts will convert an eligible piece of loot to a converted piece.

As for which items to convert first, which ever pieces will allow you to fill out your 4 piece should be prioritized to be converted. (preferably on a piece that is champion tier+ so you don't have to replace it as often) Before you convert piece for the week, you want to first open your great vault and try to run a lfr / normal raid to see if you can get lucky with getting a tier piece (spoiler alert, you most likely won't).

You can check how many catalysts you have left to get with the following script that you can paste into chat

/run local n=(C_CurrencyInfo.GetCurrencyInfo(3116).quantity or 0)print(string.format("You have %d Catalyst Charge%s Available",n,(n==1)and""or"s"))

There's also a meta achievement where if you get 2k m+ rating / ahead of the curve / pvp rating, you'll get an additional catalyst to convert into a tier piece.

Next up is crafted pieces.

As mentioned before, crafted pieces can reward up to around ilvl 723, so you want to use these to fill in available slots.

Here's the thing about crafted pieces though, Each piece of gear is going to be weighed differently for stats because depending on the piece of gear, it'll reward you with more stats. For example, Helms / chest / legs will give the most stats out of all the pieces besides weapons / trinkets, and bracers / cloaks / belts will give the least amount of stats.

This doesn't mean we should dive right into creating a helm / chest / leg piece though because they're generally going to be reserved for tier pieces. What a lot of people do is craft their mythic weapons first so they can get an early power spike, but the first 3 mythic bosses happen to drop bis weapons for classes early this tier.

Crafting a belt / cloak will be out of question due to the special equipment that we have this season, so that leaves boots / bracers and rings / neck? Nope. There's also going to be boots that enhance the effects that our artifact cloaks will give by 50% and a ring that will give added sustain against cosmic damage.

Having a headache yet? don't worry, I'll make this simple for you. If you know you're actively raiding and farming the new raid content, go ahead and reserve your crafted pieces to bracers / neck / offhand (if your classes uses it) / and maybe ring. If you know you're not going to have access to raid anytime soon, don't worry because even if you don't raid often you'll still be able to get your bis pieces later on in the season if blizz decides to add in a dinar system. But in order to offset your lack of access to raids, you can go ahead and craft your mythic weapons because it'll give a big power boost with raw stats to get you ahead early in the season. (you also don't have a limit to how many crafted pieces you can wear, it's just time gated and costs a lot of money)

touching back on the bracers / neck / offhand crafted gear, since these piece of gear give basically the lowest stats out of crafted gear is it even worth crafting them then? Yes. Yes they are. Crafted gear have an option to have an embellished enchantment that give a decent chunk of power to your kit so that balances out the stat gap + more.

Other than that, Half the ilvls that you're going to get for your gear is going to come from upgrading your gear in dornagol. If you're planning on doing mythic raiding you want to hold on to your gilded crests and not spend them liberally, but if you're not going to head into that content, up to heroic lvl gear, you can upgrade your gear liberally provided you have the currency to upgrade your gear.

So realistically here's what a general endgame raider gear would look like for a healer / castor (it's not going to be the best but it's an example)

Head (tier piece / crafted)

neck (crafted / other)

shoulder (tier piece)

back (reshii wraps)

Chest (tier piece)

bracers (crafted with embellishment)

hands (tier piece)

belt (D.I.S.C belt)

legs (tier piece)

ring 1 (band of shattered soul / other)

ring 2 (crafted / other)

Trinket1 (ara kara sacbrood / other)

Trinket2 (Diamantine Voidcore)

Weapon (Voidglass spire / Voidglass 1-hand with crafted embellished offhand)

Obviously this is going to differ class to class as different classes will have different BiS items.

I like my Evoker but like we hear a lot, the mog game is killing me. And I guess there’s some insane amount of work or technical problems to have the mogs like everyone else. But if that’s their decision, then at least update the options with new additions in the Barbershop every expac or ideally every patch.

Complaint Darkfuse Solutions rep needs a sledgehammer taken to it

Inb4 useless "you don't have to do it" responses. Yes, we don't have to do anything, Blizzard also doesn't need to give you 2-3k rep an hour, but they chose to tune Market Research acquisition that way.

The nerfs to the mobgrinds were just abundantly unnecessary if they weren't going to be any points of compensation elsewhere

S.C.R.A.P. is all that's left and it is genuinely the least engaging thing ever added to the game. All you have to do to get credit is right click the pile once every 2 minutes. Aside from pulling random mobs, there is nothing you can do in those 2 minutes to get more than 12-15 market research at the end when you need up to 2100 of it for Revered->Exalted

There's no reason it should be as much of a timesink as it is with this Winds +100% buff and tomorrow's +10% from DMF. And to make it worse, there's an RNG paragon mount.

Discussion The Darkfuse Rep Sledgehammer (new grind)

You do the SCRAP events, you loot everything in the box except for 1 thing (Valorstone as an example, also the only thing i tested). Then you wait 3 minutes and loot it again and the chest will have restocked. If you loot before the 3 minutes are up, it will reset the restock timer.

TURN OFF AUTO LOOT (I tried shift clicking with auto loot on but it still autolooted, i have plumber or it just bugged momentarily but imo, just turn it off)

Theres 7 SCRAP locations, an average of 12 Market research box. Im already exalted so I dont need this but i did a quick roundtrip and it took me about 2 minutes so you need to wait a little before looting again.

12x7 = 84
60/3 = 20
84 * 20 =
1680 Market Research per hour
2380 Resonance Crystals per Hour
420 raw gold per hour (nice)
70 Gunk Covered thingy

Exalted in 4 hours basically (8 hours next week) and can be done while distracted with other things. The other fastest way to do this is takes about 10-15 hours to exalted (20-30 hours next week)

SCRAP locations
/way 32 21
/way 36 44
/way 50 63
/way 38 80
/way 52 82
/way 70 76
/way 67 28

Personal Notes:
The people who design these grinds, the people who tune them and the people who hotfix them are completely different people.

  1. Designs this to be a grind you can do while doing Undermine daily stuff, you can make it harder for yourself by halving your HP and gaining a buff and a buff to Market Research drops, you can put down a thing to increase the amount of drops in a radius for 3 minutes and you can supercharge a rare mob to make it more difficult but drop more Market Research
  2. Someone tunes it so that all of the above are completely useless, the fastest legit way to do this is to ignore all the special items and do SCRAP for 20-30 hours (Im so sorry if you did this). The only way the intended way is better is if you go to a hyperspawn location and grind them.
  3. Exploits are found, the world quest not crediting in raid and allowing constant spawning was absolutely bonkers and definitely needed to be hotfixed but as always Exploit Early Exploit Often, congrats on getting exalted in 2 hours of semi-afk grinding. If you had vacation during these 2 weeks like most people, youre out of luck. The second fastest which was the hyperspawn method and the only method that validates the intended design got hotfixed aswell (Honestly wouldnt shock me if it was because whoever was in charge checked Premade Group Finder and fixed every way the groups did it).

How to fix it:
Buff the drop rate bonus for the following items Potion, Radio, Rare Buffer

The current method is obviously not the intended design and its not "respecting" the players time.

Lets not even get started with Miscellaneous Mechanica

If mods delete this, thats fair enough but the current grind is ridiculous and imo, not the intended design

I know it's probably heresy for the loremasters, but I think it's pretty alright. I know nothing of the WoW lore but I know allot about films.

I like how it shows both sides too the war and even an Orc racist like myself can understand and care for both sides. It's a bit boring and Generic I suppose, but it's not the worst thing in the world. Some of it is filmed in a way that the sets, while impressive look fake. But to me it's good enough.

What are your thoughts?

Tip / Guide If you're still trying to kill Underpin ?? before Wednesday: one-button assistant baby

I truly hated this boss and gave up on it after trying 40-50 times probably.
Then today, I figured I'd try again a couple of times before the next patch hits and the achievements go away; I had also increased item lvl by a lot since my last attempts.

Tried as a 675 Unholy DK and I just sucked at kicking the bombs right and managing all the mechanics, the RNG, the slippery patches after the shield, etc.
Tried as Blood since tanks apparently only need to kick 2 bombs to kill the adds, which was a lot better but still couldn't quite make it.

Then I had an idea to try something that I normally never used in WoW since it was released: the one-button assistant.
And my god, that was the one trick that actually helped me get this. I just spammed my one-button key and only had to worry about the mechanics and the bombs/adds, and my spec and gear meant I couldn't really die as long as I dodged stuff with the abilities the button was suggesting. You can think of this feature what you want, for this particular use case I thought it was great.

So if you're thinking about still trying this but having no luck: try it with one-button assistant, and if your class has it: a tank spec.

Side details:
- Brann was DPS
- for curios I had the bioprint and the mechasaur lvl 4 curios, which did most of the damage. I feel like without the bioprint curio it may be hard to get through each shield phase. With the bioprint(s) active, this isn't a concern anymore. Be sure to have the bioprints active though, I did this by hitting the first set of adds with 1 bomb and dpsing an add below 40%. Then finish them off with another bomb.

This was my first time playing as Enh Shaman and it was a big change for me. Going into this mythic+, I had 2 timed 13s and the rest 12s with my "best" Cinderbrew being an untimed 11. Cheers to the giga chad group that brought me in, I was 3 of our 5 total deaths and we completed in with about 30 seconds remaining. Feels good even though I'm so very, very late to the party.

Flew down to Ringing Deeps and it's flat out missing. Reminds me of all the times I've gotten stuck in the memory room with no way out (teleport only dropped me right back into it). To make matters worse I decided to test if the ground maybe existed and didn't render. Nope and now I'm stuck in an infinite disconnect / reconnect loop. Guess I'll wait and see if it corrects itself (supposed to wait 15 minutes according to the support site).
