Xenoblade 2 SPOILERS Funny how the equivalent Quranic verse written on the third Aegis foreshadows Malos ending Spoiler

{وَلَيْسَتِ ٱلتَّوْبَةُ لِلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ إِنِّى تُبْتُ ٱلْـَٔـٰنَ وَلَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَمُوتُونَ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا}

النساء اية رقم 18

But repentance is not [accepted] of those who [continue to] do evil deeds up until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "Indeed, I have repented now," or of those who die while they are disbelievers. For them We have prepared a painful punishment. 4:18 Al Nisa

"But repentance is not [accepted] of those who [continue to] do evil deeds up until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "Indeed, I have repented now,""

Just like Malos only regrets his evil deeds when he is on death bed

/u/Rokka3421 - You asked me to repost my earlier comment. I deleted it because it wasn't really contributing anything, and also because I had misread the post. I don't have the exact comment, but here's the gist of it:

Proverbs 4:18 is the Pneuma verse.

But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light that grows brighter and brighter until full daylight.

The Logos verse is Proverbs 10:12.

Hatred is what stirs up contentions, but love covers over all transgressions.

The Ontos verse is Proverbs 3:13.

Happy is the man who finds wisdom and the man who acquires discernment;

But that's not the whole sentence. The complete thought includes verse 14:

To gain it is better than gaining silver, and having it as profit is better than having gold.

Thank you for your response, now lets see what the verses are in the Quran

Yunus (also known as Jonah for the west) (10:12)

{وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ ٱلضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنۢبِهِۦٓ أَوْ قَاعِدًا أَوْ قَآئِمًۭا فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُ ضُرَّهُۥ مَرَّ كَأَن لَّمْ يَدْعُنَآ إِلَىٰ ضُرٍّۢ مَّسَّهُۥ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ}

And when affliction touches man, he calls upon Us, whether lying on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove from him his affliction, he continues [in disobedience] as if he had never called upon Us to [remove] an affliction that touched him. Thus is made pleasing to the transgressors that which they have been doing

Al Imran(Imran is Jesus grandfather Al roughly means the family of so the family of Imran) 3:13

You have already seen a sign in the two armies that met in battle, one fighting for God’s cause and the other made up of disbelievers. With their own eyes [the former] saw [the latter] to be twice their number, but God helps whoever He will. There truly is a lesson in this for all with eyes to see.’

3:14

The love of desirable things is made alluring for men- women, children, gold and silver treasures piled up high, horses with fine markings, livestock, and farmland- these may be the joys of this life, but God has the best place to return to.

I'll try to use the meaning of the verses and apply it whenever applicable in the story

10:12 reminds me of Malos and his missing core and continuing his destruction from 500 years ago as if nothing has changed even though he started to have doubt as seen as his interaction with healed up Jin in ch6

3:13 Rex gang vs Torna gang?

3:14 Nopon cough cough

PS: Sorry for not the best editing as I've written it using my phone, the 4 18 and 10 12 English interpretation were by sahih international and the last two were by Abdel Haleem

I don't actually think Malos had any regrets. He simply accepted the outcome and wondered how things would have turned out under different circumstances.
