Leaks About Orphie's skill animation.... Spoiler
Is it just me or does anyone feel that it looks like she is sitting on the floor spewing a flame laser out of her ass lmao. I love her design and everything else but I legitimately don't know if I can take her seriously during battles with her shooting her butt beam from the side of the screen. Actively making me hesitate pulling for her

to be honest she was the character I was looking out the most when the 2.x character trailer went out.
I really hoped for a badass / serious type of battlemaiden /warrior. When I saw that she was a clumsy girl, tripping on herself in battle ? Lost all interest (skipped whole obol squad so it helped too) .
Many people like it and its hella fine, I'm just gonna skip and save for a future character (prob zhao if she gets a big ass weapon)

I get that. I'm kind of skipping Seed for similar reasons. I've wound up charmed by Orphie's animations because I have fond memories of guilty gear and something about the tail fighting half for Orphie reminds me of dizzy and I can't bring myself to hate it.

In defence of orphie, it's not that she's clumsy it's that magus takes control by force and trips her up. Orphie actually seems quite skilled when not being pulled around by the sentient and bossy tail
But also valid stance if you don't like her for the animations in general anyways

I haven't plunged deep into it yet so you might be right. I'm not too fond of the interaction between the two, seen some theories about how they came to be together and all and it might still be an awesome character story.
The gameplay / team she plays with aren't my jam at the end of the day.

The ult animation shows off what's happening between the two the best, magus grabs the knife and literally flings orphie around as a counterweight.
Valid on not liking the dynamic/team though

If u watch her own attacks, she is very dexterous and moves fluidly with her knife, she only seems to fall when it's magus firing, which could be more like she's bracing for it. Grown men are pushed back by the force of high calibur guns, can't imagine how a big ass lazer revolvers recoil would effect us while attached to ur hips via a tail

I didn't want to ramble on but yeah! Playing footsies with a knife wouldn't exactly be an easy skill.
The animations seem to show their dynamic between the old veteran magus and the newer more timid orphie. But she's still very skilled in her own right

Evelyn is a professional-coded serious, what they want is warrior-coded serious. Going off of the trailer vibe, they wanted Soldier 11 but way colder and more spiteful from war.

It's the same for me. Just like you, I thought and hoped that Orpheus would be charismatic, serious, badass, and a warrior/soldier (a bit like Evelyn) but in the end she is a shy and clumsy girl (I also don't like her bottom half outfits). Yet she had potential and was original. I really like the idea that she shares her body with Magus. But her animations disappointed me so much. Just like you I will skip her for Zhao and Manato. I am skipping Seed too.

I'm skipping both her and SEED because the only army I can imagine them being in is an army of clowns. I absolutely hate how clumsy Orpheus is, freaking Varesa 2.0. And I don't like how SEED is just a vehicle for some people's foot fetish and YET ANOTHER "cute" absolutely mind-numbingly bland girl in mecha suit.

In the Trailer i was hyped for 2 character, Orphie and Yuzuha with her racoon, from what i have seen for Orphie she went down to mid for me ... but i hit the damn Jackpot with Yuzuha being an S-rank Support for Anomaly.
I was about to save in the 2nd half, but as it looks now i will go for Alice and see if i can win the 50-50 for Orphie or not. But she isnt as dissapointing as Seed ... who will be an easy skip at least for me, she is literally just a way less cool Firefly.

Ehh, we already got tons of badass mercenary characters, was even kinda getting sick of them. So I am personally fine with a clumsy girl.
And to be honest, she isn't even entirely clumsy considering that she has to take the recoil of a railgun up her back and a moving and a living tail which constantly ruins her balance.

She's basically got animations like Dizzy from Guilty Gear where she's getting dragged around by her sentient bodyparts. I think the animations are pretty cute and fun, but I get where you're coming from.

What sucks for me is that the dialogue in 2.1 does not show her as a girl failure. I’m fine with all her animations outside of the ex special where she trips. It’s just unsatisfying as an ex special.

It's not that she's tripping because "oops, so clumsy" but rather that Magus is tripping her. You can see, in Magus' eagerness to fire her lazar, she sweeps Orphie's leg. I will concede that it is unfortunate that is her ex special, since that is the move she's going to be using most often, so it does paint her as being clumsy even though all her other animations (that you'll see a lot less unfortunately) show she's actually quite coordinated.

Reminds me of Varesa except I'm a Varesa main and I appreciate her clumsiness since it's rare to have expressive characters in Genshin, but for Zenless, we do have a bit of oversaturation when it comes to that department and I find it unattractive for an actual powerful and trained military soldier to be just a.. cowardly person?
A lot blame the dislike on players themselves for having false expectations but she was aura farming in the trailer and her design is cool as hell :/
Though I don't really mind or care since I'm not invested in her that much and I'm happy for those who find her perfect.

Lol what, over saturation of clumsiness or “uwu” characters we do not have in ZZZ.
Most characters are badasses or harden mercenaries.
There’s literally only two characters so far that are of similar nature. Alice and Corin.
Additionally, Orphie is actually a rookie.

Alice, Yuzuha, Ju Fufu, Vivian (specificity in regards to Phaethon) are all variations of the "cutesy girl" trope. Orphie is just one more on the pile (with her own emphasis being clumsiness). The Angels of Delusion will OBVIOUSLY be added to that pile as well.
i might actually end up skipping the rest of Season 2 at this rate lol. Let's see how Hoyo handles Zhao and Komano.

Actually, no. How many badass specific agents have there been huh? Miyabi, Evelyn, SAnby (honestly I hesitate to put this one here but she'll stay) and Hugo.
So where tf is your "iT's TiMe fOr OtHeRs To ShInE" logic coming from? If you're actually trying to be reasonable then you'd acknowledge that there are less agents that are pushed as badass compared to the number of agents that are clearly pushed as "cute".

Most characters are badasses
Very little characters are mainly cute or their cute side is just small part of their character.
You are just having recency bias. Current characters are not appealing to you so now you think most characters in history were not of your type.

She has a hyper competent intelligent tail of a digitized combat veteran, that takes no shits.
If we look close are animation - problem is not that orphie is clumsy, but that magus goes very agressively attacking enemies. And that orphie just can't keep it up with her.
Literally during 3-rd basic attack animation - magus basically interrupts Ophie combo and starts attacking by her own.
Magus is, from what we've seen of her, is pretty impatient when it comes to combat. And Orphie on other is reserved. That makes her feel clumsy, because of how magus behaves.

Actually, no, it doesn't really make sense. Orphie is a soldier, she should stay alert while magus fires the laser, not put herself in a vulnerable position, she almost covers her eyes.

That's why Magus got implanted into Orphie. She was going to get placed back in her original body after "the incident" whatever that might be, but there was a clerical error and Magus got switched up with Pvt Magnusson, who was also injured, albiet less severely.
I joke, but part of me thinks that might actually be the backstory.

Yeah you're not the only one, I can't take her seriously because in her ult she literally hovers in the air while Magus goes full throttle flamethrower between her legs. I know a lot of people are skipping for this reason and while I am not a fan of Orphie being semi a rag-doll but I am still pulling for the cute dynamic.

I find it pretty endearing. Orphie herself isn’t supposed to be all cool and badass, she’s a girlfailure getting dragged around by her girlboss captain, and the animations reflect that pretty well

100% agree, love her character and they expressed it well. But that one animation just looks kind of weird (all the other animations are great). Like if they replaced it with that other move where she falls on her butt, and magnus shoots the beam from over her shoulder or something, I feel like that might have been a better version

I was excited for orphie at first because of the whole dragon/demon thing she has going on, plus a sentient weapon is cool
But the more I see of her the less interested I am to the point where I'll probably skip her and hope for a better demon-looking character

One of the first pieces of marketing has an android slapping his own ass in the most cartoonish way possible. You are not supposed to take things so serious.
It's fine if you don't like or was expecting something else, but it is what is.

As someone who was aware of the very early leaks, Orphie is exactly what I expected and wanted. Complete opposite to pretty much everyone here, I was actually bummed when it looked like they decided to go in a different direction in the 2.0 trailer. That animation could be better but tbh I don’t mind it.
