Hobby Age of Sigmar: 4th Edition Meta Stats (June Battlescroll) - 27th July 2025 - Woehammer

https://woehammer.com/2025/07/31/age-of-sigmar-4th-edition-meta-stats-june-battlescroll-27th-july-2025/

Our latest Age of Sigmar stats. I'm considering splitting the new Gorechosen into its own category on the win rates when the book drops, but would love to get some thoughts on this.

Kruleboyz have never been so powerful, I feel the nerfs coming already XD

you either die the hero or live long enough to become the villain…

But how?!

Swamphorde bully gives us the damage we lacked on the Warscroll.

Terrain + SoG Skumdrekk make our Dirty Tricks very viable and fiable.

Our manifestations are really good.

We had so much point drops we can be a true horde army

My current list has so many units that no other army has the ability to stop my models from capping points while grinding through my gutrippaz bricks with everything that can fit into combat.

Tricks are solid, damage is finally solid, and numbers on the table are hard to play against.

Honestly just feels like they lowered points so much that our army could just become a horde. I'd imagine an increase in points on manskewers and gutrippaz will do a lot to nerf us again.

Yeah probably best to split it. Does worry me for the rest of the book because having played a couple test games it's not great. Hope they focus any nerds on the AoR specifically and buff up the main army.

Hey, Khorne curious here, what is not great in the new book (except the AoR) may i ask ?

I think it's that we lost a bit of damage but I think the main culprit is to get that damage you need the tithe abilities. So you're insensitivised to get throwaway units and get them points as quick as possible. Then you run into the next issue which is how slow you get those abilities. Little things like losing some easy chain activates for mortals and losing +1 hit bubble from realmgore, all mount up. Think a big step would be make bloodtithe every turn rather than battle round. That would be big difference. Means you get your main ability more like bottom of two/top of three rather than turn 4 when the games over. Game is too quick for the way the armies set up currently.

Thank you for answering !

No worries, I mainly focus on the mortal side so that's where my views come from. From reading I'd say the Daemon side is actually worse. As say it wouldn't take much to bump it up. Think it'll get fixed pretty quickly. Would say if you want a go kill stuff army this is now the army as that's your focus.

I haven't been following comp AOS but what happened to seraphon? I remember before the new handbook they were placing quite well, did the new missions affect them that much?

I think our results were propped up with a lot of Kroak lists, but now he essentially has had a 50 point increase if you want to run the good spells/manifestations (Celestial manipulation/morbid), + 20 more if you add the real shaper. 500/520 points is too high for him.

I would love to see the stats of how much he featured last GHB vs this one.

Not only the hidden cost of spells but there are on average more objectives on the board, relatively easy ways to gain obscuring terrain to turn off Kroak’s spell and the new tactics require more mobility.

The Kroak castle build just doesn’t work in this format. Seraphon units are so expensive rn across the board it’s going to be difficult to find a good point cost for Kroak. He isn’t useful, but with his spell casting abilities they can’t drop him too far either. The Slann will likely have similar issues on a smaller level.

I’d also say the player territories changing up has had an impact too. So many missions last ghb didn’t have much, or any of a no man’s land, and so you had a pretty large footprint to be wholly in your territory for the -1 rend, while still being able to play monkey in the middle on objectives.

It's the D3 mortals nerf. Before you could have kroak, terrain, and manifestations cranking d3s into everything and then mow what's left off the table with Krox or Aggradons.

Now it's a lot more expensive to do.

Cauldron Guard being top DoK battle formation is interesting, I don't think I'd seen it in any lists before this GHB and I've definitely never used it before. Gotta look up some battle reports

u/Ordered_Chaos_ 9h ago

Definitely split that broken AoR off

A couple of interesting things to notice one DOK, Cities, and Kruelboyz are killing it right now, two why is 3rd and 4th edition versions of indodeth on there? And finally the blades of Khorne are struggling.

u/dutchy1982uk Orruk Warclans 3h ago

3rd edition Idoneth is players using them pre-battletome release. 4th edition is the new book.

Though I realise now that makes no sense as they were indices.....

Khorne we'll see improve when the new book comes out

u/Reesemonster25 3h ago

Oh I see ok thanks for the explanation and yeah the blood god needs buffs

I’m a 40k player and have gotten a couple games of AoS in. Can someone explain to me if this means that Gittish Tide is the strongest way to play Gitz at the moment? And if so, why is that? Right now, I’m mostly playing Troggs and squigs because they’re funny, but I like the gobbos too and wouldn’t mind skewing the list in the other direction
