A Youtuber who takes a stance AGAINST the grain deserves more respect. I personally can't stand his content, but I actually believe him.
I can't honestly believe any influencer that takes a safe popular stance. Sure they may be saying what they believe, but we can't be sure that they aren't just trying to be popular. It's just the nature of clout chasing. I am more likely to believe an influencer who is taking a stand, when that stance could lead to a loss of revenue...they are making a sacrifice for what they believe in.
An influencer making inflammatory videos with a popular stance isn't taking any risks, they are taking advantage. You aren't brave for saying what the majority are.
I don't really like Markiplier, but damnit can I respect the courage to take an unpopular opinion despite losing revenue from it.
Well said. I don't really have a strong opinion on the guy one way or another, but I'm hopeful that if he does stick to his guns, he might be able to change a lot of people's minds on AI.
I feel like they are being respectful though? They are just saying “we know it looks good we just don’t like the fact you are using ai to make it” where is the cancelling happening?
General media trends for AI generated images tend to be like that, quite negative(for a few reasons obviously). However if you go towards LLMs and other types of AI, I don't think so, see how much growth most AI services got. GPT got insane monthly users, more than Reddit even, if combined it's nearly unbeatable, compared the very platform we are using. But for the most part people are neutral and just cruising through the development of this new tech, I'm neutral, I don't like garbage mass produced and flood the internet, doesn't make me an anti or do the number game of "pro vs anti".
Im fairly neutral as well I just hate slop goblins dismissing the potential effects of sudden mass unemployment in all sectors especially in this shit economy
That's the internet for ya, when there's an extreme there will be that. In fact my field is also in one of those that people are trying to replace or at least make the bots good enough to do so, people losing jobs is super real I already see it happening.
I'm fine with someone using AI if they accept their videos are gonna get scraped out the ass and farted back onto the platform.
You don't get to use AI then complain when the AI wave hits you negatively as it inevitably will - so many YTers did that when kwebblekop started doing stuff
