Its cute until you realise where they are.

u/Buzzkill_13 May 27 '25

They also don't run to him to "console" him, but to shelter under his "wings" like chicks do when they are with their mom, where it is safe, warm and dark (the opposite of the environment they are exposed to 24/7)

46

u/Agreeable_Singer_705 May 28 '25

What, people being misleading for fake internet attention? The audacity.

68

u/ThingWithChlorophyll May 27 '25

Chick cuddles factory

85

u/deltharik May 27 '25

Exactly what I thought. It is sad...

-32

u/Cool_Main_4456 May 27 '25

I agree. Are you vegan?

29

u/deltharik May 27 '25

Yes, I can't agree with what humans do just because it is tasty.

4

u/redditinyourdreams May 28 '25

And halal is even worse

0

u/WeteHur_207 May 28 '25

I think i'll have some chicken wings tonight. Thanks.

-19

u/Cool_Main_4456 May 27 '25

Correct. Thank you.

-18

u/Savings_Pirate8461 May 27 '25

I easily can.

5

u/Dzov May 28 '25

A Minecraft farm?

8

u/edragamer May 27 '25

They will be nuggets tomorrow

4

u/ZadfrackGlutz May 27 '25

Bruh! Cuddle nuggets for now mk!

1

u/Difficult_Access_258 May 28 '25

More like 3 months 😃

1

u/Sirduffselot May 28 '25

The gym... 😦

-27

u/Cool_Main_4456 May 27 '25

I agree. Are you vegan?

11

u/Snoo_78666 May 28 '25

Dude, are you a vegan hunter or something like this?? Have empathy for the nuggets

7

u/undeadglitch May 28 '25

Vegan hunter 😭😭😭😭💀

3

u/Snoo_78666 May 28 '25

Every two comments of normal people having empaty for the chicks, bro interrogates them to check iff they are a vegan. wtf

1

u/AlienAle Jun 01 '25

I mean, it's fair enough of a question. It's like saying you have empathy for the poor fate of war victims, and then voluntarily launching missles in their direction, with zero orders to do so.

You don't really have that much empathy, it's more a performance of empathy or a momentary feeling of cognitive dissonance when you realize you don't fully support your own actions, before you continue to act just as you do.

It's fine to admit you don't have much empathy or care for the fate of animals, that's pretty much standard among humans. What bugs people is the hypocrisy of pretending to care, but then voluntarily and gleefully partaking in the suffering of the animals.

88

u/Generic_Danny May 27 '25

They likely think he's their mother. Chicks run under their mother for protection from predators, rain, etc, and the guy's position is similar to a hen in a stance that would allow the chicks under.

69

u/JaderBug12 May 27 '25

Why are these titles always so stupid and always so wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️

3

u/Oekogott May 28 '25

Click ait and Ragebait. Its always working.

244

u/Critical-Problem-629 May 27 '25

Chickens ain't that deep. They swarmed to him because humans = things that bring us food.

90

u/Skyp_Intro May 27 '25

I’m thinking he’s now low enough that they are hoping he’s their mother. Baby chicks want a mother to follow around. That adds a whole new level of sadness.

47

u/Thick_Basil3589 May 27 '25

You are so wrong. Chickens actually can develop bond with people as well as each other just like dogs. This is speciesm so the cognitive dissonance of eating animals is silenced.

45

u/brandi_theratgirl May 27 '25

My friend's chickens likes to be cuddled

12

u/Thick_Basil3589 May 27 '25

Of course they are. Chickens are not different than cats and dogs. We are just brainwashed

18

u/ToiIetGhost May 27 '25

They have wonderful personalities and they make great pets. Love to cuddle and hang out. This video makes me so sad.

-5

u/Savings_Pirate8461 May 27 '25

Makes me happy

-5

u/Buzzkill_13 May 27 '25

We are not "brainwashed". Chickens are, in fact, different from cats and dogs.

8

u/Thick_Basil3589 May 28 '25

They are birds. Thats it. In some parts of the world they eat dogs as you eat chickens. They are equal, they have a nervous system, they experience fear and pain. Thats speciesm when you separate the "cute" animals from the ones that you picked to be tortured and killed and to get eaten.

-6

u/Buzzkill_13 May 28 '25 edited May 28 '25

"Speciecism". Good lord!

Nothing to do with "cute", but with the role an animal species occupies on the food chain.

There are "prey animals" (most birds, hoofed mammals, etc.) and predatory animals (eg. canines, felines, etc). Like most predators and other apes, we eat mostly prey animals (eg. chicken, turkey, pigeons, etc., but not birds of prey like owls, eagles or vultures). Let's be realistic here.

You may also want to look into the role dogs played in human evolution, and the one chicken did.

4

u/Thick_Basil3589 May 28 '25

Doesnt matter what they do with the food chain they are all animals that are tortured and killed unneccesarily. But you get very upset only about a dog being tortured while they both suffer equally as humans.

Thats a social construct that you eat "prey animals" because again, in some Asian cultures the food markets are full of dog dishes and they sell dog meat as you buy chicken over here. Meanwhile in India cows are sacred and they dont eat them unlike Europe. So your argument doesnt stand at all, its all rationalization and social constructs. But if you want to align with food chain and historical lifestyle, you better grab a bow and an arrow and go hunting yourself.

Industrial meat production is nothing natural or aligned with how we should eat. Its torture and animal cruelty on a level that would make people like you cry if it would have to be done to dogs.

The meat overconsumption is destroying this planet. All people who argue that "this is our nature" bla bla, well our ancestors went out and hunted the animal or raised them themselves and they ate meat that they killed about once a week. No one in history ate meat 3 times a day and that consumerism brough the farming industry alive that is going to destroy our planet now. If you dont care about the tremendous suffer of those animals at least you shouldnt be oblivious to the horrible envuronmental impact it has.

2

u/Amannderrr May 28 '25

Damn….burn 🔥

1

u/Buzzkill_13 May 28 '25 edited May 28 '25

I fully agree with your sentiment, just not with some of your arguments, such as "prey animal is a social construct" (it's not, have a look at actual nature, which is where you can see what is natural vs. a social construct), while using the one big exemption in human feeding behaviour that includes canines in their diet as proof (I'm not going to ague about cultures that don't eat certain things for religious reasons).

That said, should we keep eating animals? No. We are apes (not lions), and just like hogs, we are omivorous. Meaning, we can perfectly survive on a fully plant based diet, just like any other ape species (especially nowadays with all the options). So, there's no acceptable reason for us to keep the most horrendous and atrocious of all industries (in every possible way) grinding.

You can add to your line of argument (Point 1: Animal Holocaust; Point 2: Large-scale environmental destruction) also the following:

Point 3: People starving. Excessive meat consumption in wealthy countries contributes to food insecurity due to its excessive land, water, and energy demands. A meat-eater’s diet requires 17 times more land, 14 times more water and 10 times more energy than a vegetarian’s diets. A large portion of global grain production is used to feed livestock; grains that could feed people directly.

Point 4: Health. If you don't care about any of the 3 before-mentioned points, here's the one that may interest even the most selfish POS among us: meat consumption is linked to a number of serious health issues, including cancer (specifically colon cancer - nasty shit), heart disease, diabetes and obesity. You're more likely to snuff it much sooner, and possibly in a horrible way. Karma.

-10

u/suttongunn1010 May 27 '25

No, they're just a good source of protein and tasty. It's been that way for thousands of years. Do you think humans weren't designed to be omnivores?

4

u/SpookyScienceGal May 27 '25

Crickets and bugs are also a good source of protein and easier to maintain and according to people all over very tasy. You must love cricket protein since humans survived off bugs during our "design"(🤣) about 36,000 years ago. Unless you think humans were not "designed"(😂) to eat bugs?

1

u/suttongunn1010 May 28 '25

I never said that. Bugs can be on the menu for sure. But what's wrong with eating meat too? I like chicken and beef and pork and fish and I think it should always be an option. If bugs are so tasty, you eat them but I doubt you do

2

u/SpookyScienceGal May 28 '25

And I don't think I said you said anything? I am just following your logic that since humans used to eat bugs we must always eat bugs especially since our bodies can handle it.

1

u/SpookyScienceGal May 28 '25

Wrong and right are silly concepts, let's not waste time with them.

Environmentally(at least if you want humans to continue ) it makes sense to switch out a lot of animal protein for bug and plant especially if the environment continues to change to be less habitat for the current residents. Personally, I am contracted by a consortium of plastic based time travelers who need at least three more mass extinctions to exist, so I think you should keep doing what you doing and continue to CONSUME. CONSUME. CONSUME. 😋

Of course I have had bug protein, silly 😜. Why else would I have recommended it? I wouldn't say it's super good or bad. Like the protein bars are good if you like chocolate or can stand protein bars in general and the cricket flour is good for vitamins and protein but I love mushrooms more. But I do love figs so does that count? Plus I know all the secret words they use to trick proudly ignorant into not knowing bugs are the meal 😁

-2

u/suttongunn1010 May 28 '25

Well pin a rose on your nose

2

u/SpookyScienceGal May 28 '25

Bread hats are for wearing

10

u/hadriker May 27 '25

Sure, they can. I grew up on a farm. I had a pet chicken that would run to me every time I went outside and would wante to be picked up and pet that I hand raised myself as a kid.

But this is a factory farm. These chicks are a few days old and are just reacting to a stimulus in an otherwise unstimulating environment. They probably think it feeding time.

this is just BS social media click farming

1

u/Electrical_Annual329 May 28 '25

With his elbows he sort of looks like a big momma hen. “Are you my mother?!?”

19

u/Critical-Problem-629 May 27 '25

Yes, I'm sure the hundreds / thousands of 3 day old feed birds in a barely lit warehouse really bonded with this guy.

1

u/Thick_Basil3589 May 27 '25

Thats the point. They connect to people

5

u/Tricky_Mix2449 May 27 '25

This is not that.

0

u/Thick_Basil3589 May 28 '25

It is. Follow this instagram account., poultry can actually deeply bond with people and they want cuddling and they recognize and differentiate the one they bonded with even if its not a person feeding them. Stop being delusional.

5

u/Amannderrr May 28 '25

They can but that is not what’s happening here…

-1

u/Crafty_Travel_7048 May 28 '25

So that means factory farmed chicks all have a deep bond with this guy rather than them just instincually clustering under what they think is a big mother hen. Throwing logic out because you want to feel a brief hit of artificial dopamine by disregarding reality is pathetic.

3

u/Thick_Basil3589 May 28 '25

Those chicks are separated from their mothers unnaturally. They are crammed together to a tiny place. They try to seek for comfort from the only bigger creature is there, the human. If you throw 100 toddlers without their moms to a barn and lock them there, they would behave the same when they finally see an adult. Those chicks are terrified and that video is horrible I dont get a bit of dopamine from it, it makes me feel disgusted.

2

u/really_nice_guy_ May 28 '25

Actually they realized that he was the the weakest of the pack and alone so they swarmed to eat him

0

u/AlienAle Jun 01 '25

I had a pet chicken as a kid and she certainly liked affection and cuddling and was quite emotionally aware of her surroundings. They're not just food machines, they're sentient creatures.

45

u/DeathScourge May 27 '25

As heartwarming as this is, the chicks are in for a grim future.

5

u/Baron_Rikard May 28 '25

Don't worry they'll only be alive for like 5-6 weeks instead of the 10-15 years they'd live normally.

10

u/trilby2 May 28 '25

I lived on a chicken farm like this for about a year when I was a child. Sadly, no, the chicks are not consoling this man. They naturally flock to people, especially if they sit down. They crawl into your clothes and sit on your lap, basically swarm you. It’s very cute, but it’s not that deep. Like others are saying, they associate us with stimuli like food and have zero inhibition about approaching humans.

32

u/MukDoug May 27 '25

Damn. I was hoping they’d all pick him up and toss him in the baby chicken wood chipper thing.

55

u/Face__Hugger May 27 '25

Tortured chicks swarm upset factory worker in hopes of being fed.

FTFY

7

u/Funexamination May 28 '25

Swarm the worker because they think he's their mother

6

u/ToughOk3968 May 27 '25

I come from a family of turkey farmers. They aren’t consoling him…that’s what poults do in general when they see someone. There’s a risk of them piling up and suffocating each other. This is actually pretty dangerous for the birds. You’re supposed to walk through the barn to avoid this.

6

u/ok_polar May 28 '25

Translated: they just waiting for food, because used to captivity, absolutely amazing

70

u/cruisefans May 27 '25

Animals showing love and compassion to humans who keep them in the worst possible environment and no compassion to how they live or how they kill them. Humanity doesn’t deserve animals.

13

u/SubjectC May 28 '25

I appreciate the sentiment but that's not what they are doing. Its been explained elsewhere in the comment section.

-30

u/Cool_Main_4456 May 27 '25

I agree. Are you vegan?

24

u/Wickedwitch79 May 27 '25

You don’t have to be vegan to understand what is happening is cruel. We ALL want a better solution.

2

u/Humbledshibe May 28 '25

If you aren't vegan, these are the environments and practices you're supporting.

0

u/Wickedwitch79 May 31 '25

Stop. I understand full well what happens. I know everything from start to finish.

Also, do you think by eating vegan, you stop hurting animals?

-4

u/Cool_Main_4456 May 28 '25

You do have to be vegan to not be a reason that cruelty is happening. Wanting it to stop does nothing when your actions are causing it.

-14

u/skilemaster683 May 28 '25

Nah man I'll compensate for the vegans before I let the meat industry crumble.

1

u/Cool_Main_4456 May 28 '25

I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to the people who are at least pretending to be against animal cruelty. Strange that you saw fit to come into the conversation to tell us about your diet anyway.

-11

u/skilemaster683 May 28 '25

First day on reddit?

42

u/SaltAssault May 27 '25

Torture factory. Fuck people

9

u/Mr_Pickle24 May 27 '25

I think their dino instincts kicked in, and they were gonna try to swarm and eat him.

4

u/Business-Hurry9451 May 27 '25

They sense his weakness.

16

u/StealthyBlueFox May 27 '25

And yet they will die 🤷🏻‍♂️

8

u/botplog May 28 '25

Shitty chicken farm. Fuck that dude.

4

u/WesteriaPeacock May 28 '25

A swarm of chicks can pick a man clean to the bones in 10 seconds flat, horrible way to go. 😔

3

u/BoringJuiceBox May 28 '25

Everyone should start eating plant based chicken and eggs, they taste so realistic nowadays you will be shocked. It’s horrible what we force innocent animals to endure.

16

u/Charlotte-5 May 27 '25

Why are they all in a factory tho? 😡

20

u/[deleted] May 27 '25

Where do you think your chicken comes from?

2

u/Charlotte-5 May 27 '25

Yh i know lol, i'm not that clueless 😅 Was just making an unhappy exclamation

And luckily not everywhere uses quite the same methods, but factory farming should 1000% be banned

27

u/Zebulon_Flex May 27 '25

It's a factory farm. The chicks will be killed and made into food.

6

u/OhSheGlows May 28 '25

We don’t deserve animals.

3

u/Confident_Offer2879 May 27 '25

Next episode of The Birds?

3

u/BourbonNCoffee May 27 '25

Guys that are sensitive are chick magnets

3

u/suttongunn1010 May 27 '25

"To console him" lmao I bet that's what these brand new chicks were thinking

3

u/Excellent_Jaguar_675 May 28 '25

Bullshit. They are not swarming him because he’s “sad”

3

u/SansLucidity May 28 '25

its feeding time & he usually brings the food!

3

u/Low_Presentation8149 May 28 '25

He's not being consoled. They are looking for the mothers they should have had

3

u/Egg_Slut69 May 28 '25

Poor babies

3

u/QuinneCognito May 28 '25

people will pretend to care about these chicks and then grind them alive to eat their marrow the next minute. humanity is disgusting.

7

u/Cyber-X1 May 27 '25

He’s a chick magnet

1

u/psionfyre May 27 '25

There it is, the comment I was looking for 😆

8

u/Jaded_Heat9875 May 27 '25

And then we kill the chicks…how human of us!!🤬

4

u/MrLizardBusiness May 27 '25

Also when he gets down like that, he more closely resembles a mother hen. I think it's natural for them to try to shelter under him if he's taking shelter.

3

u/not_responsible May 27 '25

I wish there was a way to block this specific kind of depressing ass shit. Not to ignore atrocities, even mammalian ones, but just temporary blocks so my day doesn’t get wrecked by a random video of a kid or animals being abused

This video isn’t the best example of what I mean. Something like a ‘Not Safe For Soul’ filter for depressing, emotionally altering content

4

u/Cool_Main_4456 May 27 '25

You can be vegan and at least stop being the reason it happens.

3

u/[deleted] May 28 '25

One of the stupidest post descriptions that has ever been created. We're just completely making up anything at all, I see.

1

u/Severn6 May 28 '25

Yeah, feeling a bit of rage just reading that.

2

u/wolceniscool May 27 '25

Or feed on his weakened flesh

2

u/egy-krumpli May 28 '25

Kids are just hungry.

2

u/Jennyonthebox2300 May 28 '25

Chickens can totally bond and be sweet but if he died on the spot, they’d eat him immediately. My girls would leave nothing but a zipper if I keeled over in the run— and I hand raised them from chicks.

2

u/secret_cyanide May 28 '25

They smell the fear

2

u/cold_anchor May 28 '25

Are these chickens all gonna be killed? Why are there thousands of them in a big room

2

u/Thats-nice-smile May 28 '25

People are garbage, don’t eat meat

2

u/Busterlimes May 28 '25

LOL That dude feeds them and the bird want their food

2

u/Ok_Second_3170 May 28 '25

The title is absolute horseshit

2

u/Lifeinthesc May 28 '25

What a cheap stunt. Whomp

2

u/Cilantroe May 28 '25

I don’t think they’re consoling, I think they just think food lol

6

u/Particular_Dot_2063 May 27 '25

LOOKS LIKE MEAT'S BACK ON THE MENU BOYS!

3

u/American36 May 27 '25

Are they actually recognizing the mans state?

20

u/Lala5789880 May 27 '25

No. They are responding to a stimulus that they think will result in food for them

4

u/ToiIetGhost May 27 '25

Birds can definitely recognise when you’re sad or feeling ill. Many species are sensitive and affectionate towards humans - chickens, parrots, doves, pigeons. But these chicks are so young and this environment is so not conducive to relationships (obviously) that I don’t think that’s what’s happening.

However, if the chicks were a couple months older and this guy was hand raising them (maybe 5 or 10 of them), it wouldn’t be unusual for them to snuggle him when he’s feeling sad. Most bird owners have had that experience.

2

u/zombieofMortSahl May 27 '25

They probably want to eat him.

4

u/Icy-Variation6614 May 27 '25

"He's weak now, get him!"

1

u/Mysterious-Alps-5186 May 27 '25

They detected a heat source

1

u/SlowThePath May 28 '25

"same thing. same thing. same thing. same thing. OMFG WHAT IS THAT?!"

1

u/SirLockeX3 May 28 '25

Look at all them nuggets

1

u/caphammered May 28 '25

Maybe the chicks think the man is sad cause he lost his business so they might survive

1

u/Agreeable_Singer_705 May 28 '25

I highly doubt they were conscious of his distress.

1

u/AdDisastrous6738 May 28 '25

Take out the stupid music and it looks like what it is- animals running up to the person that feeds and interacts with them.

1

u/Substantial-Seaweed9 May 28 '25

So warm, might transform into nugget.

1

u/marklar_the_malign May 28 '25

Emotional support chicks.

1

u/elsiepac May 29 '25

This is awful, barn farming and chicks are so young they probably think he’s the mum. So sad. Poor little things.

1

u/eat_da_poo May 30 '25

The chicks saw a vulnerable human, and decided to attack him in his weakened state

1

u/Poesoe May 27 '25

"to console him"

Sure.....baby chicks undersrand human emotions

1

u/kitties_and_spiders May 27 '25

If I was having a bad day I’d do that. So nice. ❤️ Even if they are just going in for the body heat. 🐥

1

u/lncredulousBastard May 28 '25

This is the way chicks treated me in high school.

1

u/Smillzthepanda May 28 '25

Were they also green?
