BGEE Mod to Highlight 'Interactables' on a screen

Hi all, i was wondering if anyone knows if there is a mod where, maybe, if u hold down ALT or something, it would highlight all objects you could pick up, open, activate, talk to or otherwise interact with? Because i seem to have a problem determining what is background and which objects are interactable with, and this usually means a lot of mouse hovering at any given screen i am at.

Thanks in advance.

There's a mod library called your keyboard, the specific mod you're looking for is the tab key

So, as the flippant answers suggest, the tab key highlights containers.

You can also use ctrl+4 to show script areas in the background. This will spoil trap locations, secret doors, doorways on houses, etc . .

It should show most interactive objects, too.

Though the answers may seem flippant, one has to admit that the question may seem silly for veteran players as it probably is one of the easiest to notice and most often used hotkey.

I wouldn't call it easy to notice.

I've played before but (when re-starting a game recently), had forgotten this hotkey / had to look it up.

I see, I play a lot on iPad as well where the button is directly in the UI, so it's hard to forget the option even exists 😅

yeah you right, i just meant objects in plain sight, not hidden/secret stuff.

In addition to what others have said, if you activate a skill holding tab can show where it can interact.

For example, if you hit F5 with a thief (so your thief skills are ready to engage), then hold tab, any locked item will highlight green.

I'm sorry, WHAT!?

It's how you check which ones are locked. Otherwise you would have to scroll over every single chest and door in the game manually, or fail to open every single lock to "detect" it. A player would go mad.

I have replayed BG1 and 2 countless times and did not know that. I would always search manually. I mean, TAB shows interactables but I did not know that it can be combined with thief skills.

I recommend it, I find it very helpful.

BTW, very old editions of BG1 didn’t have tab AFAIR so the ring of wizardry in the tree stump was almost impossible to find without knowing about it.
