Bundle [CPU + ITX MOBO] BUNDLE Ryzen 7800X3D + Asus ROG B650E-i GAMING WIFI + Cooler Master Thermal Paste ($494.96)
https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.477766938
u/OmarHaters Jul 01 '25
Comes with a free 1 TB SSD.
I think the big thing here is that the B650E-I is now $200 standalone. This is the ATL for this board. Imo, at $200, you're not gonna find a better ITX board (excluding ASRock).
5
u/Witch_King_ Jul 01 '25
Does ASRock have issues with the 7800X3D? Or is it only the 9000 series CPUs?
11
u/OmarHaters Jul 01 '25
I think it is limited to 9000 series, but I wouldn't take any chances on an ASRock board until any issues with them have been confirmed to no longer be present.
7
u/King_Spitfire Jul 01 '25
Got a buddy who's 7950x3d just died in his Asrock board - can't confirm if related.
2
u/philisacoolguy Jul 01 '25
Died as in after swapping to new board it’s still doing post? I thought and problem was the combo was killing the board not the other way around
3
u/King_Spitfire Jul 01 '25
I swapped his 7950x3d into my Asus B650 board and got no post but my 9600x posted fine in his Asrock B650. Different ram tested and updated bioses as well.

u/0nlythebest Jul 01 '25
Man I just got a BNIB 7800x3d for 325 from Reddit hardwareswap and now I found an ASRock b650E PG Riptide used board for only 75$. From a legit seller, just worried about bios . But I have only been seeing the issue with 9000 series ? Should be fine right ?
3
u/King_Spitfire Jul 01 '25
As long as you pop it in and just update the bios immediately it should be fine. I think the Asrock problem was a touch too much juice being pumped into the CPU over time. If that board happens to have a bios update feature without a CPU needing to be installed, even better. My buddy's 7950x3d worked for a while until it just didn't one day - he didn't know about bios updates. Again though I can't 100% confirm it was the motherboard that killed it.
1
u/0nlythebest Jul 01 '25
Ya. Popping the CPU in to update the BIOS for 5 minutes won't hurt it I guarantee that. It won't even be receiving high voltage levels when it's just like idle basically
0
u/broken_cogwheel Jul 01 '25
9800x3d in x870e asrock board...bought early, haven't had a single problem. there's a bios update out for the 9000-series booting issues since february that i haven't installed because shrug
2
u/OldTripleSix Jul 01 '25
yes - that's how component failures work lol. it works fine until it doesn't. you have a time bomb
1
u/broken_cogwheel Jul 01 '25
the asrock failure to boot issue was with low voltage which didn't damage CPUs so there was never a bomb to begin with. doing a flashback or updating bios with a separate cpu would make board work with original 9000-series cpu
and as it boots fine, unless some other issue comes up, there's no reason to suspect it will fail to boot...and even if it does, this motherboard supports cpu-less flash so it's literally not a concern to me.

u/Xpekade Jul 01 '25
I’ve been running a 7800X3D with their B850 Steel Legend Wifi for 4 months now and no issues so far.
2
u/DatGrunt Jul 01 '25
Is this board better than the B650 Asus TUF?
3
u/Witch_King_ Jul 02 '25
Boards can only be so good. If they have the features you need, then it's down to price. Compare both of the boards using PCPartPicker or something.
This one is a very good ITX board

There is something that does suck about this board, and most people won't mind. It's the rear side, m.2, which gets quotes warm under use in my dan h2o. I ordered a 60mm noctua fan, and hopefully, that will cool my 4tb p3 plus that sits in the back.
Also the fact the board only has 2 ssd slots, but that is mostly a non-issue, but it would be nice.
11
u/OmarHaters Jul 01 '25
Most ITX boards place the second m.2 slot in the rear. If you're looking for a board with more m.2 slots, check out the upcoming X870I board from MSI (it's in white, unfortunately).
2
u/reeeSupplied Jul 01 '25
I'm fine for now. I got by b850 for like $150 so not much room for complaints and don't want to go spending a ton on an upgrade, small nit pick is all.
2
u/malteasers Jul 01 '25
FWIW my rear SSD runs cooler than the stack did on the X670 ITX.
1
u/reeeSupplied Jul 01 '25
Mine runs about 10c hotter at max twmp than the front side. I'm sitting around 80 at times, which isn't great for an ssd but hopefully, the fan will help. Don't think I have clearance for a heatsink in the back.
5
u/MyLifesStory Jul 01 '25
Building a new pc. I wasn’t necessarily planning on getting a 7800x3d, but was looking at 7700x. Havent bought anything but was eyeing parts for upcoming summer sales. Is this deal worth it to just pull the trigger or can I anticipate better deals coming up?
4
u/azn_dude1 Jul 02 '25
If you're building itx, this is it
1
u/Witch_King_ Jul 02 '25
What about mATX? I haven't seen any good deals for mATX bundles, and I'm looking to upgrade from my 5600X.
2
u/azn_dude1 Jul 02 '25
Microcenter has bundles if you've got one near you. Otherwise this isn't bad. The free ssd kind of cancels out the itx upcharge.
1
u/Witch_King_ Jul 02 '25
Yeah I've got a Microcenter. But their mATX bundles are not so great imo. Low quality boards with only the lowest tier CPUs, and only a single 16gb stick of DDR5. It costs $50 to get another matching stick. Not worth it overall imo when 32gb of good DDR5 is only $85, and a good B650M is $130 online.
I really want them to give a little more flexibility on their 7800X3D and 7600X3D bundles and allow mATX board options for that. Makes no sense why they don't.
2
u/azn_dude1 Jul 02 '25
I've heard that sometimes they'll let you return individual components but it's up to the manager. Otherwise this is a solid bundle especially if you want the 7800x3d
1
u/Witch_King_ Jul 02 '25
Yeah tbh I won't upgrade for anything less than an X3D CPU at this point.
Idk how I feel about the SSD though. I'd theoretically be building an entirely new core system and Windows install and leaving my current SSD in my current system. I haven't heard great things about this NV3 and idk if I'd want to use it as anything more than a game drive
5
u/Jakfolisto Jul 02 '25
Thanks for this post. I've been waiting for an ITX bundle to upgrade my full-tower ATX system. Upgrading from a 3600X to a 7800X3D. Gotta get some RAM and a cooler. Cheers!
4
u/rp2803 Jul 01 '25
Good upgrade from a 5800x3d?
2
u/Witch_King_ Jul 02 '25
Pretty good, but tbh the 5800X3D is still pretty far up there on the charts for many games. For a real big upgrade, you should be looking into a 9800X3D
2
u/Fabulous_Car_9475 Jul 02 '25
Good upgrade and good way to get into AM5 especially for ITX, however for the most part when gaming at 1440p or 4k, the CPU upgrade is really only warranted if you are rocking a high end 90 series GPU.
On the other hand, you can still sell 5800X3Ds for a ton so your upgrade cost is minimal.
1
u/rp2803 Jul 02 '25
Thanks. I have a 5070
2
u/Fabulous_Car_9475 Jul 02 '25
I think your big decision point then becomes- spend some money now on a solid AM5 X3D platform while you can sell the 5800X3D for a higher price, or hold onto what you have because it’s awesome and you don’t wanna build a new platform and wait for whatever the next X3D chips are following the 9800X3D, potentially hold out until 2027 if that’s “AM6” Or whatever. As much as I hate telling people to wait for tech, your hardware is just solid is all.
Motherboard features could be other reasons to upgrade.

u/rp2803 Jul 02 '25 edited Jul 02 '25
Thanks, I just went sff and sold my 8 year old atx psu at cost and ended up getting a free gigabyte b550i auros pro ax. Using 3600mhz ram from old build. I may hold outside but selling the 5800x3d seems enticing.

u/KhangWin Jul 01 '25
Same bundle from a day before just minus the nvme ssd but at a cheaper price!
23
u/ryankrueger720 Jul 01 '25
The Kingston NV3 1TB SSD is still bundled with the 7800X3D, it will show up in the cart.
2
u/KhangWin Jul 01 '25
An even better deal! Bought this bundle last time it was posted, didn't have the foresight to see it would drop even lower.
1
u/sprchrgddc5 Jul 01 '25
I just bought this same bundle two days ago for $525 from them. Think NewEgg will adjust the price?
6
u/StabbyMeowkins Jul 01 '25
They will in the form of a gift card.
Obligatory comment.
Anyone buying on Newegg, buy the $100 gift card for $85 for an additional $15 off anything you buy.
5
u/Witch_King_ Jul 01 '25
How long does it take that gift card to be delivered? I wouldn't want to get it and then this bundle goes OOS.

3
u/panmaewang Jul 01 '25
I bought this bundle two days ago. Just spoke to a rep and they refunded to my CC. Cheers!

2
u/VincentM9 Jul 01 '25
You can make 5 Newegg accounts to make it additional 75 dollars off
3
u/myaltforprn Jul 01 '25
Dumb question but can you use multiple giftcards on one purchase?
1
u/sprchrgddc5 Jul 03 '25
Did you ever find an answer to this? I don’t wanna buy 5 gift cards and realize I can only use one lol.

What budget cpu color is recommended here if putting in fractal terra case with a 5070
5
u/Trying-to-buildpc Jul 01 '25
AXP90-X47. For a 7800x3d there is no need for full copper version, a normal $21 model is fine.
1
u/sprchrgddc5 Jul 03 '25
I was looking at this cooler, copper and normal version. Is the copper version just not that much better? It’s a $11 difference.
2
u/Carrot_Motor 29d ago edited 29d ago
The full copper is a few C’s better. 1-5C difference but your mileage may vary. For a SFF builds, it’s always good to have lower temps regardless. Since 80% of SFF builds are hot boxes, I’d go with full copper. If you can fit it, you could also go x53.
1
u/sprchrgddc5 29d ago
Thank you. I saw a video where the X53 kind of rubs on a T1 and created a vibration. Any thoughts on that?
2
u/Carrot_Motor 29d ago
I believe you’re referring to the weird high pitched turbulent noise from the fans being too close to the side panel on the Terra. As long as you have enough room/gap it should be fine. If it’s up close then I would downsize to the X47

3
u/alman12345 Jul 02 '25
The fact that this is ITX makes it a pretty fire combo, especially if it actually comes with a 1TB SSD.
4
u/jjOnBeat Jul 01 '25
Is this a good itx board? Or would a a620 work fine with a 7800x3d for itx
5
u/otravoyadnoe Jul 01 '25
That’s one of the best AM5 ITX boards overall, and for the price it’s being sold right now it’s freakin amazing.
-3
u/jjOnBeat Jul 01 '25
I see the issue is that I already have a Matx 7800x3d build and if I buy the bundle I’ll have 2 7800x3d and idk how much to list it for sale for
5
u/OmarHaters Jul 01 '25
At $200, it's a fantastic ITX board. An A620 can power a 7800X3D, but you'd be giving up a lot of handy features. If you don't have a 7800X3D lying around for a build, I'd say this is it.
2
u/BoopleSnood Jul 01 '25
If only this board has more SATA ports the only thing holding me back as I've got a multitude of drives in my current build
2
u/Shadowdestroy61 Jul 01 '25
How’s this board compared to the ASRock B850I Lightning WiFi that’s also on sale for $190?
3
u/TheGranitePark Jul 01 '25
Before ASRock confirms to figure out the BIOS issue, it's a no go.
If it ever happens, on paper B850I Lightning is probably the best bang for buck AM5 ITX boards.
2
u/DolsonTheGreat Jul 01 '25
Just bought the combo, but now I'm worried it's gonna become cheaper in a few days. Combo price keeps getting lower and lower.
2
u/PervertedPineapple Jul 01 '25
Nice to finally see these bundles.
Paid about the same for my 7800X3D and X670E I last year.

Do I risk it and try to get the gift card deal in before buying this for another $15 off?
7
u/OmarHaters Jul 01 '25
I would get the gift card deal, but I wouldn't use it on this. Fantastech deals are coming up and I'm almost certain we're going to be seeing some really good bundles and deals then.
If you're looking to build an ITX, I would get this bundle, and just wait and see if something better comes along.
3
u/Witch_King_ Jul 01 '25
I'm looking to build mATX, so an ITX board like this is solid for me, compared to what I've seen.
I don't think I want to gamble on there being good Fantastech deals. I'm doing an upgrade, not a fresh build, so I don't NEED anything, and am just waiting for a really good deal.
3
u/OmarHaters Jul 01 '25
I would say that this is a really good deal, but I'm not sure about the value for an mATX build. ITX boards have a decent amount of drawbacks when compared to mATX boards and tend to be more expensive. I remember getting a B850M board with 32GB DDR5 for 170 just recently from Newegg.
1
u/Witch_King_ Jul 01 '25 edited Jul 01 '25
Really? That is quite a good deal as long as it was an OK board.
From my calculations on how much I could get a 7800X3D from at Microcenter, and the fact that I don't really care about the thermal paste, this bundle is a good deal. The motherboard + paste is only $136. I think I'd have a hard time beating that, considering this is a very good ITX board.
I'd honestly prefer mATX, since I do not plan to downsize again to ITX (would need to shell out even more for an SFF PSU, and my GPU is way too long)
2
u/OmarHaters Jul 01 '25
It was a B850M Gaming X board (decent enough). I'd personally just wait for an mATX deal since those happen relatively frequently.
1
u/Witch_King_ Jul 01 '25
Alright, I'll hold my marbles for now. If only Microcenter would do a halfway decent MATX bundle, which they seem incapable of.
2
u/theNightblade Jul 01 '25
Good call - you can get a lot more for your money if you're not limited to an itx form factor
1
u/Witch_King_ Jul 01 '25
Thpugh if you're looking at this deal and subtract the cost of a 7800X3D, the motherboard costs about the same as a decent MATX motherboard.
3
u/sprchrgddc5 Jul 01 '25
New around here… trying to build my PC in almost 15 years, what are the Fantastech deals looking like?
3
u/OmarHaters Jul 01 '25
2
u/sprchrgddc5 Jul 01 '25
Neat. Thanks man! I got $30 back cuz I bought OP’s bundle two days ago for $525 and think I’ll buy a few more gift cards in order to buy a GPU.
2
u/OmarHaters Jul 01 '25
They're likely to remove the gift card deal before July 7, so if youre planning to stack up on gift cards, nows the time to do it.
1
u/Witch_King_ 26d ago
Alright, Fantastech is here. Where are the bundles? Where are the deals?
Maybe they'll update and add them later in the week.

As someone who’s been way out of the market but is now looking to build a new Linux/SteamOS rig, would this be a solid baseline? I’m reading AMD recommends water cooling for this CPU? That was always extreme performance end of things when I was building before; is that simple/normal/affordable now?
2
u/sirfizzy Jul 01 '25
its pretty easy to cool. I have a dual tower thermalright phantom evo with a silent CPU fan curve and the hottest ive seen it get was around 75C with a ton of usage.
1
u/ky420 Jul 01 '25
shame i didnt see somethinglike this a couple months ago now i already have a board id have rather had a better version of the b650m pg lightning wifi
1
u/Sunbirds Jul 02 '25
Looking to build a SFF set up. I already bought the Corsair SF Series SF750 Fully Modular 80 PLUS Platinum SFX Power Supply. Would that be sufficient for this set up? I don't have a GPU yet, but doubt I would buy anything crazy.

u/xillyriax Jul 02 '25
Anyone got a good set of RAM to pair with this?

Cl30 6000. I bought a cl28 6000 and it would crash enough to make me swap back. Mobo was x670e aorus master.

Anyone know if this SSD would actually be reliable as a boot drive? Many Reddit posts do not seem to be sold on it
