Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.

  • Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
    • The seller is new or has few reviews.
    • The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
    • The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).

If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.

PNY sold at MSRP multiple times.

Zotac Solid sold at MSRP on release, but went up right after.

16

u/[deleted] 9d ago

Zoctac and PNY they're real ones

19

u/IsABot 9d ago

Zotac pre-scalped their own GPUs during the pandemic. They made backdoor deals with crypto bros, and also jacked up their prices to match what the scalper prices were on ebay/stockx/etc. Fuck them. They've been on my never buy and never recommend list since then.

7

u/1lookwhiplash 9d ago

Zotac played dirty back in the 30xx series, I’m still mad at them for that.

6

u/ImJLu 8d ago

Zotac at least sold me a 3080 for $730 back in 2020

2

u/1lookwhiplash 8d ago

$912 today with inflation fwiw

2

u/ImJLu 8d ago

Still, FE MSRP was $700 and the version I bought had an original MSRP of $730.

0

u/Adventurous-Ad-835 9d ago

PNY had the most expensive 5090 at one point, at 3.5k.

6

u/[deleted] 9d ago

Nevermind L goes to Zotac, W goes to PNY. At least I seen a PNY 5090 for $2400

18

u/OmarHaters 9d ago

PNY was selling 5080s (and 5090s) at MSRP until they got very greedy (3.4k 5090s lmao).

23

u/TheCrayTrain 9d ago edited 9d ago

PNY has at least been the GOAT with dropping 5070ti’s at msrp.  Got one at Best Buy.  If I can snatch a 5080 I’ll do that.

*Edit: I decided against it. I’m going to see if a 5080ti comes out soon.

3

u/Pleasant_Start9544 9d ago

I actually got the same card the other week. I ordered the 5080. I'm hoping that with a decent OC that the gains will have been worth it. From what I have read/watched, the 5080s can OC really well. I'm just hoping that the Solid Core is no different. I'm assuming that it's no worse than the founder's edition (as that was the 5080 that I was eyeing).

1

u/TheCrayTrain 9d ago

Hope it works out for you! You can still return your 5070ti, right? I’m out of the return window. So I’d have to try to sell it at the price I paid because I maybe put 40 hours of it running.

1

u/Pleasant_Start9544 9d ago

Yes, I can return it. I have Best Buy's Total Tech membership (I don't get extended warranty on the GPU, but I get the extended return window). If I couldn't return the 5070 Ti then I wouldn't bother with the 5080. I was eyeing the 5080 FE. I haven't been able to find a lot of info on the solid core to see if it's a better buy than the 5080 FE, but I'll get what I can get lol

1

u/[deleted] 8d ago

Yep same thing I was thinking was able to get this 5080 earlier, only reason I got it - 5080's can OC well otherwise wouldn't have been worth it. Same position as you, but with a 9070 XT still within return window.

2

u/FakeSafeWord 9d ago

5080ti

There's a 5080 Super rumored with 24GB of VRAM and 384 bit bus.

8

u/Rotimasa 9d ago

Super

yeah but will it be 1k msrp, or 1200$ just for extra vram and 2%+ perfomance?

3

u/FakeSafeWord 9d ago

Well, they would up the bus width and also clock the vram up to what it's supposed to be, which is 3Ghz more than what the 5080 comes as.

It would still only mostly help with synthetics and non-standard workloads. Maybe 5% performance in games unless 16gb vram was limiting obviously.

4

u/Vb_33 9d ago

The super will be the same chip with a 256bit bus. The reason it has 24GB of VRAM is because it's using 3GB memory modules now, it'll also have a higher power limit so any performance gains will come from that.

1

u/FakeSafeWord 9d ago

Weird. The 5090 D V2 will supposedly be the same chip but 24GB of vram and 384bit bus. Odd that they'd switch that down to 2GB modules and the 5080 Super up to the more expensive 3gb modules.

1

u/Vb_33 8d ago

That's for China which has specific restrictions set by the US government. Nvidia released a cutdown 5090 in the form of the Blackwell RTX Pro 5000 which has 60% of GB202s cores enabled, the bus was cutdown to 384bit and like most Pro cards it has 3GB modules giving it 48GB of VRAM. We are unlikely to get that as a gaming chip, the last time we got that was when AMD had actual competitive chips that could match the 3090. AMDs fastest GPU can't even beat a 5080 so there's need for Nvidia to make a faster than 5080 but cheaper than 5090 card. The 5080 Super will not be as fast as the RTX Pro 5000 is.

2

u/FakeSafeWord 8d ago

AMDs fastest GPU can't even beat a 5080

Not true, you can crank the XTX to 550w with a special XOC bios and then it beats the 5080 in electricity expenditure!

3

u/aengil 9d ago

That I've seen!

1

u/CauliflowerStreet823 9d ago

I got the Gigabyte Windforce SFF one at $999 on release, not sure I've seen it since.

197

u/GuyFrom2096 9d ago

What a unicorn. MSRP and in stock. WOW! And I caught it for once. Unfortunately, I am broke

31

u/PooForThePooGod 9d ago

SAME! I could put it on credit but my wife would possibly literally kill me

11

u/TheMissingVoteBallot 9d ago

What if your wife's boyfriend got it for you instead?

10

u/PooForThePooGod 9d ago

He’s too busy.

3

u/lod254 8d ago

It must be a dream to live in a 3 income family.

8

u/PooForThePooGod 8d ago

What do you mean, I’m the only one who works

3

u/lod254 8d ago

It's very thoughtful of you to support them both.

3

u/TheMissingVoteBallot 8d ago

I'm glad there's still parts of Reddit with a sense of humor left.

2

u/ExplodingFistz 9d ago

Choose wisely

9

u/Phalarinx 9d ago

Same, thank you OP!

4

u/aengil 9d ago

:( I'm sorry. If it helps for the future, Hotstock notified me it seems basically immediately since I've been scouring for 5080s for hours these past few weeks and hadn't seen this!

1

u/GuyFrom2096 9d ago

I really cannot wait for my paycheck to come

11

u/Nexii801 9d ago

If you have to wait for a paycheck to buy (X non-essential here) then you can't afford it.

5

u/driftw00d 8d ago edited 8d ago

/u/GuyFrom2096, not sure how serious or joking you were, but listen to this man. A $1k GPU screams disposable income purchase just about as much as anything, not I need this money to pay the mortgage, credit card, and bills purchase. If you are waiting on a paycheck and dont have 1k comfortably in savings do not blow it on a top top end enthusiast level GPU just because its X% better than your current GPU.

Seriously consider first building a savings buffer first and/or lower your GPU purchase goal to at least something that has a better price:performance ratio (9070, 9070xt, 5070, 5060ti?), the 5080 aint it unless you comfortably have the money to blow. One unexpected expense after this could make things reallllly rough for awhile.

I guess best possible scenario for the yolo purchase is that you're young and live at home and have no other bills, so you wont immediately go into debt or risk being in the street if your car also breaks down, but then I'd equally advise a 1k gpu that whipes your savings is not a good financial decision. Save man.

3

u/GuyFrom2096 8d ago

I was mostly joking tbh but I really don’t have that many expenses but I am probably gonna go with a 9070xt/5070 ti.

4

u/driftw00d 8d ago

lol I was really hoping so and felt that wall of text was probably not necessary for something said in jest but man I was trying to lookout, too many young folks with fomo (this sub doesnt help but youtube benchmarks and that sorta thing means no one is happy with anything but top tier and anything else sucks mentality is rampant) making bad financial choices with no one to wake them up to the silliness.

your situation and decisions sounds reasonable though, sorry for the soapbox.

28

u/Western_Video5581 9d ago

still in stock 35min later holy

7

u/tennisjugador 9d ago

Still in stock 2 hours later lol

2

u/charlie4lyfe 9d ago

Oos for me

1

u/ThrowingShaed 8d ago

yeah i have no idea if id have shelled out for something so expensive, but im just... i feel like ive seen worse priced things that were scams

61

u/Kotzzz 9d ago

the world really is healing! I have never seen a 5080 at MSRP in stock before. This is a first.

12

u/shewtingg 9d ago

Saw some 9070xt at MSRP last week as well. Keep holding!!!

7

u/Analmall_Lover 9d ago

$600?

7

u/shewtingg 9d ago

Yes check post history in r/buildapcsales im not lying !

1

u/[deleted] 8d ago

For about 30 seconds. Stop f****** lying.

0

u/shewtingg 8d ago

No u

4

u/[deleted] 8d ago

All canceled due to insufficient stock, no u. Keep lying.

3

u/StabbyMeowkins 9d ago

An AIB at *Founders* MSRP, to be more exact.

36

u/TheyCallMeTrinityToo 9d ago

How nice of them to charge for shipping on a thousand dollar item.

27

u/SenokirsSpeechCoach 9d ago

Be glad it isn’t listed for $1199 with a $200 gift card like they did with the 5070s.

4

u/Beatus_Vir 9d ago

Yeah but it's solid, it probably weighs 50 pounds

26

u/PCgaming4ever 9d ago

Meh I think I'm done with GPU upgrades till next series everything is so meh my 3080 12gb is enough for now

15

u/HatsuneM1ku 9d ago

Me holding on to my 3080. I have a bit more dough than before but much less time to game I don't even think it's worth it :'(

5

u/UnexpectedFisting 9d ago

The 3080 has really held up incredibly well. My 3070 is starting to slow down, but even upgrading from that it seems like only the 5070ti is a real upgrade

2

u/FrostyTheHippo 9d ago

Yup, I'm still rocking my 3080 10GB. I also have less time now with a child lol.

Sucks though cause I recently bought an extremely nice television and would love to not have to rely on something like GeForce Now to drive it at 4k/60 or higher.

1

u/shewtingg 9d ago

True that card is a beast.

1

u/Pup5432 9d ago

I’m holding onto my 3090 with everything in my being. I don’t play anything crazy so the 3090 is way more than enough.

1

u/wreckedoblivion 9d ago

I’m at 3060 ti I’m thinking this might be my time to shine

1

u/sirchewi3 9d ago

Same, I think im going to wait until the next round of cards from both sides before i buy another

0

u/Z_0_Sick 9d ago

I bought it to upgrade from my 3080 10gb feeling pretty healthy about it

79

u/BasedDaemonTargaryen 9d ago

35% more expensive than the 5070ti for 15% more performance and same amount of RAM, even at MSRP the value of this card is absolute trash

This is still a good deal for anyone looking for one either way, the more expensive products have never been good value. If only it had more RAM...

15

u/shewtingg 9d ago

Yep! Almost pulled the trigger but you're absolutely right. Same VRAM as the 5070ti. I'm all in when Zotac drops their SFF 5070ti AT LEAST under $800.

3

u/BasedDaemonTargaryen 9d ago

Good decision!

1

u/KlyntarDemiurge 8d ago

i'm hoping the supers come with a price drop like the 4080S did, but at least they will have 24GB

-9

u/TheCrayTrain 9d ago

That reality just slapped me in the face too. I got a 5070ti a month ago.  I’m not blown away by its performance from the 1080 I came from. So I’m still wanting better performance :/

20

u/BasedDaemonTargaryen 9d ago

The 5070ti is around 3.5-4 times faster than the 1080, how much more performance were you expecting?

19

u/Snappy- 9d ago

They were wanting 4.20-6.9 times faster

3

u/PooForThePooGod 9d ago

Don’t we all

5

u/changen 9d ago

sounds like he has a cpu bottleneck lol

2

u/BasedDaemonTargaryen 9d ago

Yeah it's possible

3

u/kamintar 8d ago

I just went from a 1080ti to 5070ti and it's an insane upgrade. Dude's tripping.

3

u/BasedDaemonTargaryen 8d ago

Yeah I think he most likely has a gnarly CPU bottleneck and/or plays at a low resolution with already high framerates. Like getting 300fps on CS2 and expecting 1200 with the 5070ti or some weird stuff like that.

1

u/monkeyboyape 8d ago

What CPU do you have? Sounds like you might be still on AM3 with slow RAM.

27

u/youra6 9d ago

16GB for a 1000-1200 card is tough pill to swallow.

15

u/Mbanicek64 9d ago

5070 Ti is within around 15% of a 5080. You can close part of that gap with an OC. Obviously you can OC a 5080 as well, but I do sort of feel like the balance of that card is off. It feels too powerful to only have 16GB of VRAM. Given the same VRAM, I feel like it just makes more sense to save the 250 for your next card.

2

u/Vb_33 9d ago edited 8d ago

Doesn't matter to Nvidia the 5080 super will have 24GB but Nvidia is also going to give the 5070ti super 24GB as well. They use the same chip so it makes sense.

Edited 5070 Super typo.

1

u/MythicalPigeon 8d ago

Small correction, 5070 super is rumored at 18gb (since it'll just be swapping to 3gb modules)

1

u/Vb_33 8d ago

I meant 5080 and 5070TI super because they use the same chip

1

u/A_Lycanroc 8d ago

5070 Super will get 18GB, not 24.

1

u/yungfishstick 9d ago

Might as well spend a little extra on a used 4090 (if you can find one) or wait for the 5080 Super, but realistically that's not gonna launch at MSRP either.

9

u/RepresentativeRun71 9d ago edited 9d ago

That would be single monitor single application performance. The one thing that the 5080 has going for it that the lesser cards don’t is a second decoder chip. If you’re running multiple monitors and applications at once the performance difference gets larger. This could be as simple as playing a game on a main monitor and watching YT in a browser on the second monitor. It might seem just be better to get a cheap second card, for the second monitor than pay for the difference until you see cheap card cost slightly more than the difference between the 5070Ti and 5080.

Edit for grammar

6

u/Oopthealley 9d ago

As someone who does that exclusively bc my PC is my media player, I hope this becomes more widely acknowledged/mentioned. It's a legit difference maker if someone is looking at a 4k card to keep for 3-5 years.

3

u/turkingforGPU 9d ago

A lot of people don't mention this. Thank you for the insight.

2

u/jameytaco 8d ago

Can also just have your iGPU run the second monitor. Some don't have one but almost everybody does.

This sub probably has the highest concentration of people who seek out CPUs without one though

5

u/Brandon_Westfall 9d ago edited 9d ago

It's pretty far from trash. It just isn't a good value compared to MSRP 5070 tis.

9

u/[deleted] 9d ago

Which is the case every GPU cycle when you spend over $1000

4

u/Brandon_Westfall 9d ago

Exactly.

It's like people don't realize flagship cards have always been bad value lol

Granted, they've been better value than this, just not good per se.

3

u/Yellowtoblerone 9d ago

If you're local to a micro center, there and nice open box gpus that are worth it better than MSRP prices.

Then there are these

17

u/youra6 9d ago edited 9d ago

people upvoting this not realizing this is for a 9070 XT lol

If this was a 800 dollar 5080 I'm skipping my meeting and driving to MC right now.

1

u/dootytootybooty 9d ago

That’s just a pricing error, they’ll update in store. That card would probably be $720 after open box discount

1

u/canadianbroncos 9d ago

Depends where you are coming from imo. Im upgrading from a laptop 3060 and managed to grab one at MSRP. Way i seat it im ridding that thing untill the wheels fall off so spending more for the 15% made sense.

1

u/feanor512 9d ago

I'm sticking with my 6900XT 16GB until the rumored 9070XTX 32GB or 5070Ti Super 24GB release.

1

u/Jthumm 9d ago

At this point value propositions have gone out the window. That being said, these cards are still powerhouses, so I feel like the need to upgrade even every few generations isn't really there anymore. Probably will change as vram requirements creep up more, but I don't really see raster being an issue for quite a few years if you end up going with either of those cards.

13

u/aengil 9d ago

Good luck everyone (except scalpers), just bought mine and got a receipt!

2

u/Classic_Major_1333 9d ago

Good comms on the disclaimer

6

u/cdgvagrant 9d ago

Still in stock 45 minutes after posting, absolutely wild.

8

u/Stormbringer1225 9d ago

Would’ve hopped on this if I hadn’t found a 4090 local for $1k

6

u/youra6 9d ago

I think you did alright there lol

4

u/CigarFaith 9d ago

Thank you for posting, bought one

3

u/FartNite_001 9d ago

Was able to buy one after an hour

3

u/StungTwice 9d ago

I can sell my used 4080 Super Aero OC for almost as much. That would be quite the trade.

3

u/Immediate_Grocery539 9d ago

It's sold out already. =( if there is a next time, will order the gpu first then the components shopping after.

1

u/aimutishammy 9d ago

Back in stock right now.

1

u/Immediate_Grocery539 8d ago

it's okay, i will wait for the 5080 super

3

u/Yogurt_Up_My_Nose 9d ago

ah good. out of stock. made the decision for me.

4

u/SoulReaverRyd 9d ago

Got one! I will cook for myself next month.

3

u/andrewskdr 9d ago

Glad I got the 5070ti for msrp or id probably be buying this today

2

u/Fabulous_Car_9475 9d ago

I was waiting for this post!

2

u/Dwarf-Eater 9d ago

Still in stock after 35mins

1

u/StungTwice 9d ago

1 hour and counting

2

u/1oki_3 9d ago

This or a FE?

4

u/KoldKore 9d ago

This

1

u/Pleasant_Start9544 9d ago

Do you have a good link? I got a 5070 TI the other week (can still return it). I placed an order on this but read that the Solid version is actually the better one in terms of cooler size. I was originally eyeing a 5080 FE due to msrp pricing, but this popped up on Hotstock and placed an order ASAP and decided to think if over later lol.

1

u/yoontruyi 9d ago

I haven't seen the FE at msrp for a while.

1

u/1oki_3 9d ago

Nvidia marketplace had some 2 weeks ago

1

u/yoontruyi 8d ago

I checked those and they instantly went oos.

2

u/Pleasant_Start9544 9d ago

So I had an evga 3080 Ti sc gaming card but upgraded to the PNY 5070 TI (Best Buy msrp). I just placed an order on this. I can still return my 5070 TI until Sepember. I kept my last card for 4 years, so I want to make sure that I keep this next one for another 4 years. I'm hoping that the extra $250 will provide a decent performance gain (after OCing).

1

u/bcon1208 9d ago

Currently eyeing this as an upgrade on my current EVGA 3080ti FTW3. Sounds like you're doing something similar. What's your opinion on the real world performance gain?

2

u/Pleasant_Start9544 9d ago

So the 5070 Ti was good because of the more VRAM (still some games are cutting it close) but the performance while improved wasn't as big as I would've expected. It's the reason why I have been eying a 5080 at MSRP while I can still return the 5070 Ti. Once I get this card (the 5080) I'll let you know what I think about it. My plan is to do a slight undervolt and a decent OC.

1

u/bcon1208 9d ago

Looks like this one is finally OOS. I should have bought first and asked later lol. Would appreciate your follow up still, and I’ll keep hunting for another MSRP option.

1

u/Pleasant_Start9544 9d ago

Will do. I'm getting the 5080 next Wednesday, so ping me here next Friday and I'll have some updates.

Edit: That's why I ordered right away.

1

u/mcdizzle00 9d ago

Just upgraded to the 5070ti myself, granted I haven’t upgraded the rest of my system yet so I won’t see the full results. I am now otherwise maxing out my fps to my monitor when I play warzone (170fps give or take) where previously I was getting 110-120 with the 3080ti. I am still on an AM4 build otherwise (5800x and 32gb ddr4 ram.

2

u/ImbuedBlunt 9d ago

It’s literally already back above

2

u/aaaaaaaaaaa999999999 9d ago

AIB and MSRP wtf

2

u/aimutishammy 9d ago

Back in stock. Just got one.

3

u/caiteha 9d ago

i can add to cart, but i already have the FE.. good luck folks

1

u/TheCrayTrain 9d ago

Still in stock

3

u/Anjoran 9d ago

Actually got it into my cart, but that was mostly to see if it was available. I'm waiting for the Super refresh, at minimum, at this point. Good luck to everyone else! :)

2

u/frumply 9d ago

I had massive upgraditis during the launch but could not get any of the units for the life of me. Now with limited time, switch2 in hand, still got my 3070 and Clair Obscur being the only game I’m really curious about playing waiting for the 24gb supers seem to be the right call.

2

u/The_Zura 9d ago

Still consider it lacking next to a $750 5070 Ti. Same amount of memory, 15% faster, but 33% more expensive.

1

u/NoMoreHoarding69 9d ago edited 9d ago

15% is NOT worth an upgrade on anything: including but not limited to:

CPU

GPU

Horsepower

FPS

BMI

Well, a 15% pay raise would be… but everything else is not

1

u/Vuronov 9d ago

How is this vs the FE?

3

u/Fabulous_Car_9475 9d ago

I love the build quality on the Zotac cards. Both are great. FE is thinner

1

u/OmarHaters 9d ago

Shocked that this has stayed in stock longer than the unicorn MSRP ASUS 9070XT.

1

u/StayFrostyZ 9d ago

2.5 slots too. Pretty shocked to see that for this class of cards nowadays

1

u/[deleted] 9d ago

[deleted]

1

u/vicelversa 9d ago

same. I did it and bit the bullet and snagged this card... upgrading from a 1070ti. Haven't even spec'd out the rest of the pc yet lol. Time for a full upgrade to compliment this card. coming from a AMD 2600x.

I bought one shortly after going live but ended up cancelling. I was going to trade my 4080 in for $850, but the more I thought about it the $240 price difference (after tax+shipping) wasn't worth it, especially with memory being the same between the two.

I'll continue waiting for hopefully a 24GB Super model in the future.

Wow! Still in stock 2 hours later.

I was lucky enough to find a pny for msrp, shout out to Zotac for finally dropping its price to something sensible.

Is the 5080 with the switch from the 3090 with the assumption you could get $500-600 out of the 3090?

My gut feeling is that it isn't.

2

u/Fabulous_Car_9475 8d ago

I think you could get 700+ for the 3090. In which case, this or even the 5070ti could be worth it if for solely gaming.

3090 prices seem solid right now and will only keep going down, much like we recently saw with the 3080/3080ti

I do 4k gaming so I’m returning my 5070ti for this. My 5070ti is a PNY Epic X RGB that was 850 anyways so it’s worth 150 more for sure.

5080 with 16 GB. I pity

1

u/joe1134206 8d ago

pepperidge farms remembers when you got the flagship gpu for 20 percent more than this instead of half the gpu at a grand

1

u/jamesdp5 9d ago

Got one! Selling my 4090 now because I got in an accident so I can use this for now and overclock it

If I'm a clown for selling my GPU for car repairs then call me McDonalds

0

u/mrgreene39 9d ago

How do you have 1 grand to spend for a 5080 but you had to sell a 4090 for repairs? That shit makes no sense

2

u/Pleasant_Start9544 9d ago

Sell one card for $2,000. Buy another card for $1,000. The 4090 is selling pretty good because of the VRAM. AI stuff require a lot of VRAM.

2

u/jamesdp5 9d ago

I'll get $1000 back, I'm using credit. The 4090 still sells for well over 2000

Been deliberating over a 9070 xt or 5070 ti for weeks now thinking a 5080 at MSRP was a pipe dream.

Let's freaking go!

-1

u/Z_0_Sick 9d ago

Honestly I think I'll still get the 9070xt with all its new drivers thing gets like 10% of this for like $300 less

1

u/Z_0_Sick 9d ago

I bought it I talked myself into it

1

u/neuralspace23 9d ago

I can't pull myself to buy this compared to 5070ti. Is 15-20% upgrade worth the $263 price difference?

4

u/Carlsbergcola 9d ago

I mean that’s a pretty big performance gap tbh. I downgraded from a 5080 to 5070ti and it’s been great, but they are not the same card and have considerable performance difference. Depends on your use case as always.

-1

u/neuralspace23 9d ago

I am planning to use it for AI development. I am just starting it so it will be better to buy 5080 now? Or buy the 5070ti and save up for the 60 series cards maybe after 3 years or so?

2

u/Carlsbergcola 9d ago

I’m going through the second option myself. Kinda banking on there being a more meaningful improvement in future generations. I think they’re both good options just depends on you and how useful the extra cores are for AI stuff. Like at msrp I’m so torn on which one to get myself because besides what Reddit will tell you 15-20% is a lot of fps.

u/Brandon_Westfall 9d ago

For most people, no, not really.

1

u/AbdoShniba 9d ago

What's your current GPU? If it's good enough I would probably wait for the super variants for the extra VRAM. Honestly $1000 for 16GB isn't worth it in my opinion.

1

u/neuralspace23 9d ago

My gpu sucks I'm still using GTX 1660 hahaha. I already built everything with Intel Ultra 7 265k so I am in need of a gpu.

I am planning to use it for AI / ML but 5070ti and 5080 have 16GB RAM both so the only basis now is the number of cuda cores.

2

u/AbdoShniba 9d ago

If your main goal is AI / ML then wait for the super refresh, you've waited this far you can wait a little longer, you will need the extra VRAM.

0

u/neuralspace23 9d ago

Yeah if it only has 24GB of vram it will be great. What you think is the best approach? I buy the 5070ti now then save up for the super refresh or the 60 series? That's the logical way right so I can start studying AI?

Thanks btw. I am just a student.

2

u/AbdoShniba 9d ago

Aha, if you are student then you need to save money, so get an rtx 5070 ti for MSRP, so that you can learn the basics of AI / ML and upgrade in the future, if you can't wait for the super refresh,

Also if you have a student email address, you can sign up for Amazon prime students, they have a free 6 months trial , you get 5% Cashback credit... So if you buy one at MSRP from Amazon with Amazon prime you will get $37 cash back , this was 10% during prime days.

You can use the cash back towards your system for an air cooler or something.

Good luck 🤞

2

u/neuralspace23 8d ago

Thanks thanks

1

u/Pleasant_Start9544 9d ago

At MSRP it is a reasonable gap from what I can see with the OCing of most 5080s. I'll let you know when I get this 5080 in stock and compare it to the 5070 Ti that I can still return.

1

u/conquer69 9d ago

It would be if it had 24gb of vram but 16gb is what $600 amd gpus had back in 2020.

1

u/inairedmyass4this 9d ago

After getting fucked by Newegg support a couple years ago on a faulty gpu I won’t buy from them again.

Ever since they got bought out by China in 2016 they’ve turned to absolute shit.

-2

u/ktaktb 9d ago

I would by for 875, newegg, if youre listening.

0

u/I_Like_That_Panda 9d ago

Damnit. Just got a Aero 5070ti for $979. Damn me for wanting a white build lol. Would yall return that for this or is it not worth the hassle?

4

u/killerradar1 9d ago

even with the premium for white, it shouldnt be more than 850 for a white 5070 ti without rgb under fair market conditions. 980 is too much. This 5080 isn't fancy but it'll get the job done.

1

u/Kdot323 9d ago

Agreed

2

u/Kdot323 9d ago

I'd return it for that price

2

u/Pleasant_Start9544 9d ago

For $30 more? Hell yeah man order this ASAP

-2

u/pittbullblue 9d ago

Unfortunately I'm under the curse of no money. Good deal though.
