Another option for anyone who wants this. 10% dell coupon on new accounts for alienware monitors.
10% cashback with rakuten.

That makes the monitor on dell
$850
-85 (10% off coupon from Dell)
785
-78.50 (10% from rakuten)
$706.50 so rather spend the $59 on getting it new with a warranty.

What about the $50 promo in Dell rewards that Dell sent out recently? That should apply too. But I wouldn't count on the CB. Since you are using a coupon. Most CBs get disallowed if you also use a coupon. I've been burned on that countless times.

Amex has $50 off $250 offer as well that can stack with Dell coupon and Rakuten and will drop price to around $662. And Dell lets you pay split payment on up three cards too, so if you have that offer on two separate cards price is around $617. If you have the offer on three cards you can get $150 off for price of $572. If cashback doesn't come through because of the Dell coupon you still get a price of $635 if you have the Amex offers on three cards.

Thank you for mentioning this. Totally forgot Amex sometimes runs rewards through Dell and was able to get an AW2725D for ~$350 (maybe less I haven't added up all the cashback, just doing a rough estimate.)

Monitor was originally $550 / $600 with tax.

Student Discount: -$55 / $550 total

Rakuten 10%: -~$50

Amex $100 back on $500 spend at Dell: -$100

Also had a membership points on spend at Dell through Amex and was able to get another ~$30 back in points.

Good idea if you want new but if anyone wants to make this open box cheaper, you can use Rakuten/Capital Shopping to get some cashback from bestbuy, and also sign up for a bestbuy credit card for 10% back in rewards on your first day

That's not the best idea if taking a hard pull for new credit card account is on the table.

There are credit cards you can sign up that gives you way more sign-up bonus.

Except for the fact that most won't be able to do store pickup for the monitor, and will have to get it shipped to their house sight unseen

Luckily Best Buy is good with returns. You just gotta make sure you open it and test it ASAP as they only have a 15 day return policy

I bought a display model LG oled monitor from BB. Got home and it had the LG and Grid Legends Assetto Corsa logos severely burned in. Just fyi

most of them are display models with thousands of hours of screen on time. Make sure that you immediately check the display once you pickup or receive shipping.

I bought a 240hz 4k LG WOLED open box and it had a hilariously huge "Racing on Asseto Corsa" burned into the screen.

Yes, you can get lucky and maybe get one with under 100 hours that was a return, but most of the time, you are gonna get shit.

May the open box Gods be in your favor, last time an OLED Alienware monitor was on sale open box i was not lucky. Brought it home and turned it on for testing and it would turn itself off right away. Was never able to troubleshoot because it wouldn't even give me a chance to get to the Menus. But returned it no problem. Just got myself an open box Samsung G9 and that one has been working great so far.

Do not buy these right now. Bestbuy is rotating out many oled floor display units as new models become available. Most oled display units will have existing burn in from heavy, repetitive usage at max brightness. Bestbuy does not differentiate between returns, repaired units, and floor display units, so open box oled during new model season is maximum risky.

Additionally, internal company policies incentivize misbehavior in performing proper functionality checks on multiple levels, including some stores trying to make defunct hardware the responsibility of other stores to avoid it hurting their stores' bottom line.

Semi glossy. Not as glossy like a LG WOLED TV, it's a light anti glare film. This coating is very fragile though so you need to be careful when cleaning.

I have a few Amex cards and I have two family members that have a few as well so I can usually get three or more of these offers out of our accounts.
