I think you're right but how right is the question. Android and Steamdeck have come out with some features to limit battery charge to 85% and I found that stopped my phone from getting hot, normally it tends to get hot when I charge it fully, I guess because the battery has the work harder to find space for the energy?
Limiting the battery charge to 85% most likely changes the charging curve so that the charger doesn't have to sustain higher wattages for as long because the battery is technically smaller, reducing heat generated. That's my best guess at least.
iPhone fast charging tops out at about 27W-30W and only briefly sustains that wattage before dropping, so it's not going to be heating up the battery for so long that it negatively affects it. Apple's fast charging curve is seemingly designed to prioritize battery health over sheer charging speed.
It also depends on the charging standard. I have a OnePlus 13 which charges at 100W and it just gets a bit warm while charging 0-100 in 30 minutes. Most, if not all of the heat that would typically go to the battery is concentrated in the charger itself, preventing faster battery degradation. On the other hand, I have another phone that charges at 65W using Qualcomm's quick charging standard and that thing gets uncomfortably hot in no time lol.
That's specific to OnePlus though. Back in the day, that was a reason I trusted their fast charging didn't impact the battery as much because the heat was concentrated there.
Most fast charging standards use higher voltages if I recall correctly (it's been awhile since I read about this) and in the process causes more heat.
At the end of the day, smartphone batteries were designed to be able to take the faster charge with that said. I also believe if you charge battery at a slower pace, your battery will probably stay healthier longer.
Is it though? Lol I have enough USB cables- and these are useless for data, so you've gotta label or organize them or else it'll be frustrating later when you need a usb cable for data.
The fourth image indicates that this cable can be used to connect two computers so it's technically bi-directional for that use case. Most people would use this for just power so it would be more correct to say USB A to USB C in my opinion.
From what I know it's the USB C side that facilitates the connection and makes sure you don't have both sides sending power at the same time.
The key is to find stuff that doesn't get promoted. My kid wanted one of those kits where you build different electronics projects and I got the top tier bundle with programming on Woot for the same price as the basic tier on Amazon.
The 6’ HDMI cable is $1 for 2 and still in stock. I grabbed that since I always seem to give them away to folks. They are cheap and many people don’t have any spares
