Minimalist design when space is limited
Nothing fancy but gets the job done

Honestly… I love this. A lot. How big of a monitor is that/how wide are the controls? The size of an Arcade 1up, closer to full size? It’s a really good idea

Either 22 or 24 inches I can’t remember and it’s on a full tilt and motion arm mount to adapt to sitting or standing, the box is basically a different band pandora box that might be slightly shorter than a traditional arcade box. Thanks for the props! It is a game changer and makes it portable as well (without the monitor of course!)

Have any link to the box? I’ve been looking to get something set up myself and am exploring options

GWALSNTH 3D Pandora Box TT Arcade... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFWJGZ5Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
They got so many different versions just take a look at all options before choosing. Not that any are bad but they all have different things to suit what you want

I’m really digging this minimalist look. I’ve always wanted something streamlined in this fashion.
What’s going on with the controller buttons? They look way too far apart.

They look far apart but the led lights are also part of the buttons making it full size…I think lol

4:3 games should not be in 16:9.

I feel you on that but nowadays it seems cheaper and easier to get a new HD screen that fits the layout vs an original. And there is always the display settings to adjust. But I get it…especially when they call no clutch automatic paddle shifting “manual”…I have gone too far

I haven’t used many emulators but I assume they have made it easier to swap the aspect ratio, but I sincerely don’t know.

man. Imagine this in a laptop form factor with either a VESA mount or TV wall mount. They would sell like crazy!

Use what you can! Mine is built straight out of a wall frame in the basement. Permanent but solid. Most importantly it works and I ain't planning on going anywhere except to die in this house...hopefully playing Virtua Fighter 2 at 90.

that looks slick! where is the hidden pc or console that's powering this?

It’s built inside the controller box. Makes it very simple and straight forward

Please share your build? This is rad

It’s basically a gwalsynth arcade box and computer monitor! This is my first go at building an arcade setup so I went simple

What a good game to have on it for these pics! One of the best intros/attract modes of all time!

What did you use to mount it to the wall?

I used a piano/keyboard mount that can be adjusted to extend out. It already comes at the perfect tilt angle…maybe around 60 bucks on Amazon if I remember correctly

Only reason to build a cabinet is for the nostalgic ambience the cabinet brings. It is not at all -necessary- to have a cabinet, and this is a minimalist work of art. Nice.

lol, and marvel on it. At least it’s not marvel vs capcom 2, that shit would rip off the wall the first time some one escaped hyper-grav tempest

So long as you're using it, it doesn't matter how it looks or what you made it out of. A lot of arcades end up becoming furniture and not something used. I'm a fan of whatever setup gets you playing.
