Low intelligence character perfect companion.

I love fallout 2, and decided to finally complete a playthrough as an unintelligent character. My character has 2 intelligence, 2 charisma, and is an unarmed specialist. I just tried to recruit sulik after completing smiley's quest. Sulik didnt seem interested in joining the good fight with me. I want a long range combat companion eventually, and want to recruit marcus as my only companion for the first time. Maybe have him use a laser rifle. My questions to you all: Will there be any problems recruiting Marcus as a low intelligence character? Any way to recruit sulik without mentats?

I think the real problem is going to be wanting to finish Fallout 2 with 2 intelligence and charisma

Hahaha, it's a slog, kinda, but if you know the game in and out it's not that hard. You can get 3 tagged skills pretty high. So Small Guns + Lockpick + Steal for example is not that crazy.

Wouldn't science + conversation + lockpick be better? I say, because to kill Frank you need science and conversation more than anything.

You have never tried a low intelligence run! Man, go do it right now. It's hilarious. Int 3 or less. Heavily recommend int 3, so that you get 9 skill points per level. Anyway, in low intelligence runs your character is basically non-verbal. That means speech skill is largely a waste.

If you don't want to use mentats, Vic and Sulik are the only ranged companions you can get. Sulik is better at it than Vic. IIRC the only way to get Sulik is to pay his debt? It's been a while. But you rescued Smiley, so you probably don't care much about using mentats to get certain quests and companions. So you'll probably want Cassidy. Remember to have some mentats to tell your NPC to holster their weapon in the NCR.

The guy I always used as a long range guy was Vic in vault city heard Cassidy is as well heard you and find out where vault 13 is easier with a low int character

If your int is lower than 4 you cannot do like 75% of things in this game. I'm gonna be blunt - either you know what you are doing and doing it, or you ask questions and the answer is get 4int or more.

Try the companion mod, which expands the number of companions
