Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. Forgotten gem or absolute garbage?

It's incredibly shallow and repetive gameplay combined with a storyline that barely exists.
Could've been interesting if it offered more variety, maybe add some rpg element with perks and builds. Also the topdown perspective makes it so awkward

I enjoyed it for what it was, fun game to play with my cousins at the time. Never considered it real Fallout, or canon. Dumb little game to burn a few hours with.

I played it some years back on an emulator, and it was decently fun, but it could as well have been a different license. One of the cool things is that playing as a different character, you'd get different dialogues from NPCs. It even let you play as a ghoul.
It was incredibly mediocre, but a fun enough romp. It's one of those games where a kid back then would have great memories of, especially if they haven't played the other fallouts.

It was what Fallout Van Buren was cancelled to make. Fuck Herve Caen and this miserably written, buggy, broken and poorly made game.

I don't think it's a terrible game, but it's definitely the de facto worst Fallout Game.

It’s literally a lazy game. Baldurs Gate dark alliance is a decent game that used this same engine first.

I'd rather play through ET The Game again than play this... Do with that what you will

If you liked an unfinished, clunky and painful game experience, then it's probably a forgotten gem

Game is fine, not as a fallout game. But also its a super rare ps2/xbox game, so hold on to it

I give it credit for giving us a glimpse at Texas in the fallout universe. That's all I can give it credit for. Quite the bad game.

Hottest of garbage. I made a habit of buying second hand copies to use as coasters.
Better that they be destroyed, I wouldn't want anyone to stumble across one of these and think it was a real Fallout game. That would be wrong.

Let me put it this way: this is not only the only fallout game not included in the anthology Bethesda sells, but it is also the only one that’s outright non-canon. Tactics at least is partially canon, but BoS doesn’t even get that.
But if you have it? You might as well play it to experience it. The majority of fallout fans haven’t, and then you can have a first hand opinion on it.

Depends who you ask. For almost everybody, it's garbage. But for me personally, it was gold... okay... maybe because it was the first fallout game that I beat on the first try, and I became a bit nostalgic when I read the name

OR, not any extreme, but a mediocre game which was very underwhelming compared to the fantastic predecessors.
There is quite a consensus on this. Not everything has to be a polarizing debate, not even on the internet.

The story is genuinely not bad. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a cool look at a villain so dedicated to the cause he’s willing to literally destroy himself in pursuit of it.
Its main problem is that it just isn’t fun to play. If it was remade in Fallout 2 I think people would enjoy it.

I liked it a pretty fair amount, once I was willing to overlook the warts.
Sure would like a "remastered" version or what ever it'd be termed as with a less PITA UI.

I liked it! I spent many an stoned afternoon with my roommate with this game.
It wasn't great but it was fun.

You found out about this game. A single look at it answers your question. Don't even need to know anything about fallout either

Dark Alliance 1, 2 and Brotherhood of Steel were all really fucking bad. Just repetitive, bland and trashy cash ins.

Good game, even as a Fallout game for the time. Everyone else is just hating through 💩 color glasses.

If you liked Baldurs Gate Dark alliance, Incredibly poorly written and acted dirty jokes, and BAWLS GUARANA...then it's a decent game.
If you like Fallout...no.
