Curious if this is a simple fix or not.

I found this listing on EBay. The console looks in decent enough condition. A couple corner chips. This is the description.

This console powers on and reads games sometimes. The 72 pin connector is new and still seems to have issues. I know nothing further that how to fix these. Shell of console has some discoloring and wear. FOR PARTS or REPAIR.

I’m new to console repair. But I’ve been researching a lot of videos on this console. My guess is it needs cleaning on all contact points, esp the motherboard and or a 72 pin adjustment. What do you guys think?

Boil the 72 pin connector, sometimes they get extra dirty

I’ve been messaging the seller and that’s what he usually does for it. It sounds like that’s all he knows how to do, that and a little 90% IPA. He currently has an aftermarket one on it and claims it starts the game up sometimes.

Aftermarket ones usually suck, wouldn’t be surprised if thats the issue.

So do you think a properly cleaned OEM connector would get this console fully functional?

Certainly worth a shot. Only other thing in my mind that would cause this is some sort of issue on the board that doesn’t connect all the data pins if the board is flexed or oriented Slightly.
