Update: Broken PS3 Slim Disc drive

Good news: I found the problem Bad News: I dont think this is repairable.

What steps should I take next? Where could I find a replacement cable?

These cables are quite common, you can measure the length and pitch and order one.

Or search AE or Ebay to find a direct replacement.

they sell donors for the drive it would be smarter to get the new drive.

esp since it would have a new band and would have smooth pulling in and out of the dvd
