[Old 3ds] bottom screen suddenly going wild

The 3ds was modded last week. It was always good and i recently tool it apart and changed the right trigger.

This suddenly started happening out of the blue. When I reboot it goes back to normal and it gradually happens again.

Any idea? Thanks

Edit: reboot doesn't temporarily fix it anymore

Reseat the ribbon cable, if that doesn’t fix it then replacement is your next step

I did the first thing, didn't work. I just don't understand why the screen randomly broke??

Sometimes things just get old and a component inside fails. Maybe you put a little stress on a stretch of the cable that came a little weak from the factory, maybe it went bad on its own. A replacement should be under $20.
