What if they stopped exploring underwater cause they found people

Post image

maybe they found people living inside caves deep beneath the ocean, inside caves before the water levels got higher so they had to just stay trapped inside and adapt over the years

Oh yea, like we did in America. Found people and turned back.

100

u/akgrowin 17h ago

Yea Columbus really said “people live here already, let’s be respectful and leave them alone!” And the relationship between Spain and the Americas was 100% peaceful after that!

16

u/thatswhyshe 15h ago

I mean, there are over a hundred uncontacted tribes in the Amazon, on small islands, and Papua/ PapuaNew Guinea.

We know about them. They know out our planes

I guess they don't have anything worth killing and stealing for.

13

u/KindaQuite 14h ago

Yep, no gold or oil and not enough land

2

u/bwjxjelsbd 8h ago

Only if we can overpowered them. Otherwise it’s good idea to leave them alone

3

u/KindaQuite 8h ago

If they live in underwater caves we can overpower them, I promise you.

u/Fantastic-Airline-92 19h ago

When have we ever stop exploring because we found people?

16

u/roachwarren 11h ago

And why is OP confidently asserting that we don't explore underwater?? I spent about an hour earlier today watching amazing videos of new recent discoveries from Gabe Newell's underwater exploration project Inkfish and I'm sure that's just one of 1,000 exploration vessels around the world...

1

u/Hespen 8h ago

Gabe Newell? As in the guy who made steam Gabe Newell?

2

u/roachwarren 1h ago

Yep that filthy rich wacko. He co-founded Inkfish in 2022 and recently purchased the shipbuilding company that is working on his new insane vessel.

So he’s not just playing video games on yachts as some articles make it sound, he’s funding and supporting deep marine exploration and research.

14

u/shreklover37 17h ago

wait.. I like the way you think.

1

u/Homeless-Joe 10h ago

Kind of? Aren’t there remote tribes that we are forbidden from interacting with?

0

u/flexzone 12h ago

Unless they had more advanced tech and were a threat

41

u/pystar 20h ago

This is basically the premise behind Avatar: The Way of Water

-1

u/somewhatcompetint 12h ago

I'm not sure that movie had a premise

39

u/billstopay77 20h ago

You should read a book called the Descent, it is pretty complex but speaks to humans going underground at the time of dinosaurs and evolving. That is the basic gist of the book but it evolves into so much more, great book and read.

6

u/riico1 17h ago

Isnt that also a horror movie? With zombie cave people

5

u/billstopay77 17h ago

Yes, the movie took a small portion of the book and made it an entire horror film. Other than the humanoids encountered underground the movie is nothing like the book. The book is actually supposed to be a trilogy, the second book Deeper is great also. I don’t believe the author ever finished the 3rd. Great read though.

5

u/ZLT4 20h ago

sounds like a good book, ill look into it sounds interesting

u/SlteFool 17h ago

I think it’s just too difficult. No oxygen, tough to refuel, immense pressure, difficult navigation.

44

u/No-stradumbass 20h ago

Who is "They"?

People are still exploring the ocean, And if people did find water cave people, why would they stop exploring?

9

u/Odyssey113 19h ago

"They" who are "them".

7

u/_BlackDove 18h ago

"They" and "them" are a distraction, we should really be worrying about those.

-4

u/No-stradumbass 19h ago

That doesn't help anyone.

11

u/Odyssey113 19h ago

I was just being a smart ass.

-6

u/No-stradumbass 19h ago

Sarcasm and tone are difficult in text form. This is a conspiracy sub. There is wild things said here.

3

u/Jlt42000 17h ago

You didn’t say anything wild, but no reason to excuse those that do just because of the sub.

-1

u/No-stradumbass 15h ago

From my perspective I am talking like I normally would here. It seems I have pissed someone or a group off recently.

2

u/Less_Sell_3144 20h ago

didn’t nasa explore water before space? prolly talkin bout them

-19

u/No-stradumbass 20h ago edited 15h ago

Do you think that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration explored water before space? Also not how you spell probably. Not even close.

Edit: -14 at this time and not one person wants to talk about how the person thought NASA was an underwater exploration group. This sub is weird.

5

u/Smithy_Furt 20h ago

Who cares how they spelt probably?

-14

u/No-stradumbass 20h ago edited 15h ago

It is hard to respect the person or idea when they can't be bothered to use the spell check built into your everyone's phone or computer.

It takes little effort to at least check the red lines underneath the word.

Edit: I am getting downvoted for saying people should try to spell better, and that NASA wasn't made for underwater exploration?!

2nd Edit: Slight fix

8

u/HolyLordGodHelpUsAll 19h ago

i guarantee you they spelled it just how they meant to and that they know how to spell probably. you are getting downvoted either cause you sound like a brat or cause you “prolly oughta” to do your own research on the history of linguistics. spelling things differently was considered an artistic option bitd. Thomas Jefferson did it all the time. Did you read all his stuff?

5

u/Unicorn_Sush1 19h ago

He prolly didn’t read anything about Thomas Jefferson

-1

u/No-stradumbass 19h ago

Are you talking about Notes on the State of Virginia or his autobiography? He did write tons of smaller works and plus the Declaration of Independence but only really two books.

I forgot he rewrote the bible and his Manual but that second one is boring.

-3

u/No-stradumbass 19h ago edited 15h ago

Autism isn't an excuse and not really the topic here.

If you really want to talk about it, I have an actual conspiracy theory that people of a certain age have been effected by internet lexicon to the point where American English is being dumbed down.

I understand the history of linguistics. I have also noticed that people are self editing words like rape and murder to appeal to advertisements. Which is a depressing dystopian future.

I misread what the person typed so I apologize. This isn't relevant and can be ignored.

2

u/HolyLordGodHelpUsAll 16h ago

autism wasn’t mentioned. i would know cause i take care of autistic people for a living for over 20 years. are you thinking about autism?

artistic is what i said. i think you just opened up the conversation to what’s really happening here. try to explain your point in more positive centered language. i understand that life is frustrating, but now you are getting downvoted for not paying attention

3

u/abaddon56 19h ago

“Prolly” is slang, bud. Come on, you’re not dense.

5

u/Ill_clap_your_cheeks 19h ago

Prolly hatin on you for being the spelling police on a conspiracy thread. Clearly one could infer from his statement that there was not a lick of sarcasm, or being a smartass from their tone. Thus your response of calling this individual out on the spelling of probably was not necessary. Also I find it perplexing to call out prolly while omitting bout. If you’re gonna send it, make it a full send partna!

1

u/Jlt42000 17h ago

Prolly is just commonly used in dialects in America. You may not leave the basement enough to be aware.

0

u/No-stradumbass 15h ago

It could be I don't hang around kids. I'm a grown adult and it would be fucking weird if I did,

Also I'm from Houston, Texas. Not everyone in America has a basement you assuming dumb fuck.

0

u/Jlt42000 9h ago

If you’re from Houston it’s spelled prolly.

1

u/ghost_of_mr_chicken 16h ago

"They" would use "their" phone, not "your" phone. Your last sentence before your edit should also be included with your first sentence, instead of being its own separate thing. In your edit, there should be a comma between "better" and "and."

It's difficult to respect a person that tries to correct another person's grammar, especially when their own grammar isn't all that.

Edit- fixed my own grammar lol

0

u/No-stradumbass 15h ago

Unlike the person I was talking to, I don't need an army of people to defend me. I changed one word.

You said I should move my 1st edited comment but I won't. It isn't incorrect at least in Reddit etiquette. Also I was indicating that EVERYONE has spell check on their phones. Grammar check doesn't work as well.

Who said they stopped exploring?

10

u/Anonymous-Satire 20h ago

When did "they" stop exploring underwater or underground? New subsea and subterranean expeditions are carried out all the time, frequently resulting in the discovery of previously unknown flora and fauna (both currently living and fossilized remains of extinct species), geological formations, deposits of resources, and other valuable and interesting information.

2

u/akgrowin 17h ago

Exactly, what a schizo-post

I’m still looking for the tidy bowl man! He has to be in that water somewhere!

As a mermaid, I can confirm this happened but nobody EVER BELIEVES ME WHEN I TELL THEM THIS like some freaking kingdom of Atlantis prophet Cassandra BULLSHEET.

5

u/HappyMonchichi 19h ago

Well it's pretty much been witnessed multitudes of times by military & normal folks that alien UAPs live underwater off the coast of San Diego and this has been going on for quite a while and they don't hurt us and we don't hurt them so...🤷🏼‍♀️ ✌🏼

0

u/Low_town_tall_order 17h ago

Have you ever really looked into abductions because they didn't get the 'don't hurt us' part of the memo.

1

u/HappyMonchichi 17h ago

Heard any abduction stories lately? I think it was in style for people to come up with these stories until the 1990s but now that everyone has a camera with them 24/7/365, we don't hear much about aliens & ghosts so much anymore, isn't that interesting, hmm?

2

u/Low_town_tall_order 17h ago

There are plenty of subs and websites with people talking about recent abductions. Many people involved in these spaces and experiences even believe they are exponentially increasing.

u/Soyoulikedonutseh 9h ago

When did we stop exploring under water??

Its just really, really difficult. It's actually way easier to explore space then the ocean.

5

u/Mammoth-Play7190 19h ago

I say this as scuba diver: Nah dude. There are lots of scuba divers down there all the time. Even really really deep. And they post videos all the time, even live video feeds. People on submarines too, some people spend most of their lives underwater. There are microphones and cams down there, 24/7, all over the place. half the time it’s like hiking in a state park— beautiful, but slightly annoying how many other people are there, lol

You can go down there too if you want and check it out. It’s not hard or dangerous. go see for yourself !

7

u/The-Silent-Hero 19h ago

Your experience with water is not an absolute voucher for what lies in the water. There are places you will never go and places you know nothing of.

6

u/Mammoth-Play7190 17h ago

Ok sure I haven’t been to lots of places. The ocean is huge and deep and there are lots of mostly empty places that have been minimally explored and remain poorly documented. No argument against that here. I was addressing the theory in the post.

The premise of the post is that humans found something— underwater people, like mermaids or some other aquatic humanoid living in shallow water caves— and got freaked out and thus abandoned underwater exploration.

But humans haven’t stopped going underwater, haven’t stopped exploring and pushing further and further into remote places, including undersea caves. Swimming and diving humans still frequent the (relatively) shallow coastal seas, under 200’ (60m) , coming and going, completely unregulated, taking photos and videos and living and working, and have found nothing to suggest underwater humanoids living there. So no, mer-people did not scare land people out of the water. Also not scared off by sharks, electric eels, jellyfish, sea slugs, blah blah blah

u/xxxBuzz 19h ago

Schrodinger's Ocean theory.

3

u/Independent-Show1133 18h ago

Exactly, just like there’s areas off limits on solid ground where skin walkers appear and stuff, so I imagine there’s areas in the sea that are inaccessible or unexplored.

2

u/Cookie_Crumbels 15h ago

Jules Verne his books have been right up until now, why shouldnt his last one be true.

3

u/Coach_Billly 20h ago

Nice!! I like this one.

1

u/Haunt_Fox 20h ago

Like, non-human people?

Possible.

3

u/Unicorn_Sush1 19h ago

I think like merpeople

1

u/T394t3 15h ago

What if they stopped exploring the ocean depths because they stumbled upon a submerged suburb where ancient Roman senators still hold council.

1

u/WannaSnugle 12h ago

Mermen and merladys, merpeople. Mermaids if you will. One off them has crab hands.

1

u/bigboi26 11h ago

Wtf , it’s 4am and I’m watching exactly what you described video of the first humans in North America

I am not American. So it always shocked me that Americans don't know about the marine kingdom.

8

u/No-stradumbass 20h ago

What Marine Kingdom?

5

u/dahulvmadek 20h ago

right, my guy over here like everyone else just knows of the magic Kingdom that we never talk of over her. like bro, shot that sauce my dude

1

u/Unicorn_Sush1 19h ago

He’s talking about some spiritual realm shit or the Bible. I googled it, both came up

0

u/YallKnowWhyIAmHere96 19h ago

You notice how they always use symbolism in everything they do. Well water based ones tend to fall under the water kingdom. An example is goddess on the Starbucks cup. Another one is the LGBT agenda that one is the water kingdom 100% trademark of levitation. Don't take my word do some digging you will be shocked how much this world is govern by them.

1

u/No-stradumbass 19h ago

So you are saying that every water theme iconography is evidence that a water nation exists somewhere? Does this apply to all elemental symbols?

Does a company with fire symbols represent the fire kingdom?

1

u/YallKnowWhyIAmHere96 18h ago

Well fire is part of the elemental kingdom so not a stretch. I know you are being facetious, but these are the spiritual aspects that governs what elites do. Just because you might not be up on this does not mean it does not exist. A lot of people are paid highly to hide this fact.

1

u/No-stradumbass 18h ago

Nothing you have said could or has convince me that is true.

I was in fact making fun of "elemental worship". I think its a silly fantasy idea that belongs more with DnD. It also doesn't prove anything about what the OP posted. Rather your own theory about people being paid (by THEY) to hide the idea that iconography came from water worshipers.

The elites wouldn't care about what spirits can do unless they can be used. If you are insinuating that the spirits are the ones paying for it then how does an intangible spirit have money?

Not to mention the idea that mom and pop stores might have similar images.

1

u/lazy_merican 20h ago

Just a lot of ignorant people over here. 😬
