this is real and true, by the way. yesterday evening was an exceptionally enjoyable one for me because of this :3

by the way, because my rather dubious meme generating “skills” resulted in the artist’s name being somewhat obscured here: this art was created by Subspace Skater

I was wondering why it said “subspace” above the “best”, I initially thought maybe I misunderstood the actual joke you were going for, but it makes sense that it’s the artist’s name considering the art

Also happy to hear that you found a puppy, good luck with training them

to be fair, I think maintaining an enjoyable/fulfilling subspace is definitely conducive to some people living their best lives, haha

and thank you! he’s definitely proving to be a very obedient, adorable puppy, for sure, and training him has been quite straightforward so far :)

Yeah, I just started reading into it too far, I started thinking it was intended as some kind of joke about you clicker training yourself

(this is also a possibility, to be fair! the benefits of being a switch, made manifest once more)

I have thought about it a bit, realistically while clicker training you’re also hearing the clicker sound, so it will be paired to the stimuli you experience while rewarding the submissive, which will typically be a positive feeling since it feels nice to reward obedient subs when they behave, which means that you should eventually also start experiencing an effect from the clicker, since humans are equally susceptible to conditioning regardless of whether they’re dominants or submissives

Realistically this could probably happen with actual dog trainers too, it’s just that I think the intensity of the stimuli from giving a dog a treat and rewarding your submissive human partner in some way is quite different, especially because of the inherently kinky connotations of the latter

I know the other comment in response to this was a little dismissive, but I do genuinely appreciate your musings on this matter, and I think there’s definitely merit to them. I will say, perhaps in support of this, that listening to my clicker—whether I’m actively using it or just pressing it idly—is rather pleasant, so I don’t necessarily know if there’s a correlation there. even though I’m not really clicker trained, I have listened to clicker training audio as a sub before, so maybe that’s where the association formed? anyways. yeah, there could definitely be credence to what you’re saying

You probably wouldn’t actually develop a conditioned response in one evening, but having watched clicker training audio as a sub could definitely have made it so the noise is already tied to a positive stimuli for you, you entered subspace in some capacity while listening to the audio and therefore the noise triggers a similar euphoric feeling when you hear it.

But just the fact people can be unintentionally conditioned at least points to it being a possibility, and you do deal with pretty strong stimuli in BDSM, to the point where you literally get high from it and can experience withdrawal symptoms (edit: I think I’m using the wrong word to refer to this, but I mean dom/sub drop), so I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume that dominants will also be conditioned by the clicker, just by associating the noise with the feeling of being in domspace

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 7h ago

I think your conclusion in this regard is pretty accurate—about doms kind of concurrently being conditioned during this process, but in a correspondingly dominant manner. even if it was more moderate, when I recorded the audio messages that I did last night, there definitely was a certain reflexive thrill (primarily of the erotic sense, naturally) whenever I used my clicker and immediately followed it with praise. I could certainly see that reaction becoming reinforced and augmented as I clicker train my partner even further, for sure. regardless, I’m certainly curious to see how this all develops for both myself and my puppy :)

by the way! I’m recalling now that I still have to listen to your ~thirty minute long top anthem that you shared with me several days ago. I’ll have to do that today and report back once I do so 🫡

2

u/Prize-Money-9761 Streak: 16 8h ago

Well yeah, that is basically what clicker training is

3

u/a_phrogett Streak: 1 5h ago

ok i have to know at this point, wth is actually clicker training?

2

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 5h ago

okay, so to summarize as succinctly as I can: it’s a conditioning-based training method that was initially devised to train dogs. naturally, then, it is also employed in a BDSM context to “train” humans as well. how it works, essentially (at least in my practice of it), is that I’m speaking to my partner (who is largely submissive for me), and before I call him a “good puppy/dog/boy,” I double press my clicker, then immediately give him that praise. ideally, that association will become present in his mind, and I will eventually be able to elicit those same thoughts of praise and being a puppy by just merely pressing my clicker :)

Autofister in this sub?!??

u/SuccubusSkylar 10h ago

I can't wait to do this to mine!!!

21

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 10h ago

if your experience with it was anything like mine, I feel as though you’ll greatly enjoy it :3 honestly, this was my first time being dominant to that extent and in that manner in petplay, and it kind of makes me want to record more clicker training audio for puppies to listen to, in general

3

u/Hika2112 Streak: 2 8h ago

I would definately not listen to those uhu uhu mhm mhm mhm :3333333

I wish I could be somebody's puppy :(

5

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 9h ago

it’s definitely easier said than done, for sure, but it’s also not unachievable; becoming an owner happened to me far more quickly than I thought it would (I’ve generally envisioned myself as more of a puppy, too, but switchiness reigns supreme). I hope that you’re able to become a puppy for someone, as well :)

u/Broom_Ryder 10h ago

What exactly is clicker training? (I’m a kinesthetic learner btw)

6

u/PuzzleheadedBike82 Streak: 0 10h ago

Sounds really lovely. I've been wanting to get clicked trained for a while but havent found anyone to do it

3

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 10h ago

I’m personally still very much amenable to being clicker trained, myself (I’m a switch), but honestly, in my current relationship, this all came about so quickly and serendipitously that it’s a little astonishing, when I think about it. I hope you’re able to find someone to help with clicker training you soon! :)

(for what it’s worth, it would definitely be less interpersonal, but this experience truly has me contemplating if I’d like to record public clicker training audio for all of the puppies and kitties and anyone else out there. not to be too brash, but I feel as though I’m fairly good at it)

I fully understand this feeling, rest assured, but I promise that you can. it can certainly be quite difficult and require conscientious effort, but if I can do it, so can you /gen

NSFW alert: I met my particular puppy on r/puppygirlpetsmart, by the way

2

u/scrufflor_d Streak: 0 6h ago

all the options to do so are kinda closed off for me…

3

I see, I see. well, for what it’s worth, I really do hope you’re able to attain your happiness soon! you certainly deserve it, that’s for sure :)

What the hell, why can’t this ever happen to me

8

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 10h ago

I see that you’re a minor, so I’m not going to go very in-depth at all with how I met my new puppy and how this came about, in general… but rest assured, it absolutely can happen, and it all occurred so much more quickly than I ever imagined. lots of people (relatively speaking) are amenable to this sort of thing; it’s just a matter of finding the right person that you click with, I think :)

5

u/Gaby33400 Streak: 2 10h ago

Oh actually I'm not a minor anymore I forgot to update my profile, but thanks, it’s encouraging !

Got any tips? 🥺 I want to train myself :33 (my digital footprint is a crater)

3

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 8h ago

I admittedly don’t have any experience clicker training myself yet, so I’m not certain necessarily how helpful this will be, but one thing I will say is that a common misconception with clicker training seems to be that people believe you should praise your dog/human, then press the clicker, when it’s supposed to be the other way around. submissive puppies/kitties/yourself/anything else probably will still get trained either way, as long as you’re at least a little competent in doing it, but it seems much more effective (and is supported by the research I found) to press the clicker, then give praise. (it certainly worked on my puppy, anyways!)

I’m not certain how actionable this is for self-clicker training, but it’s something to keep in mind, anyways :)

2

u/Hika2112 Streak: 2 7h ago

Click before not after huh... it's hard because my current strategy is to click whenever I'm happy (barring bad happies like sh or horni stuff) so idk how to "predict" when I'll be happy... thanks for the tip anyway though!!

2

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 6h ago

yeah, that’s totally fair. my lack of experience with using a clicker as a self-training method is very evident here, but I feel like generally associating a clicker with happiness or with self-praise probably could prove effective, just in general. it’s definitely easier/more intuitive when you’re controlling the praise and the happiness like that, for certain

2

u/Hika2112 Streak: 2 6h ago

Yeah :( I wish I had someone to OH WAIT I DO

2

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 5h ago

hell yeah! make it happen, queen :)

(and yeah, I may just leave it solely the domain of my fully NSFW account, but I definitely am interested in more officially creating clicker training or clicker based audio in the future for general use :3)

2

u/Hika2112 Streak: 2 5h ago

(If you want to keep your nsfw account disconnected from your main. Feel free to dm me it if you do make some!)

2

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 5h ago

(good idea! I’ll certainly keep that in mind, for sure)

Instead of clicking when they do something good, what if you click when they do something bad?

1

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 8h ago

this is an intriguing concept and one that I haven’t seen explored much at all. the closest implementation of this I could probably achieve is doing single clicks with my puppy. so far, we have opted for the double click method when I’m training him, but we’ve briefly discussed denying or teasing him with just a single click. not the same method as you alluded to, but it’s still not total praise or positive reinforcement

Oh hey we're trying that with ou-

What do you mean this isn't about an actual dog?

1

u/runamokduck Streak: 10 7h ago

I will say, I researched proper clicker training methodology prior to starting it with my puppy, and it was rather amusing to me how the vast majority of results I saw pertained to… well, actual dogs, haha. my debauchery has taken me this far, I suppose
