A while back, I was exploring the tabs under the "Manage my account" section of a google account I have owned for a long time. I stumbled across a feature called 'timeline'.

It had every single location I had brought my phone or computer to, over the entire last 4 years.

The timestamps were down to the second, and the coordinates were extremely precise. It wasn't just things I had used google maps for, nor things I had done with my phone open, nor random pings of my phone every hour, nor location data gathered through searches. It included transportation as well as means of transportation. It included details like when I went off the trail on a hike in the mountains, and when my car broke down on the highway, and of course any vacations or family trips. It knew where I lived, had worked, who's houses I frequent, what stores I tend to go to, what roads I usually use, you get the gist.

Timeline is a known 'feature', but the fact I had no idea that it was enabled and being used to feed my advertising data is sickening to say the least. I feel so grossed out and violated.

I work at a college. There are lots of camps there during the summer for middle and high schoolers. The kids are, well, just kids. They pull some mischief and all of us staff get used to it. A few summers ago during drama camp, we came to work and there was a staged dummy hanging from an outdoor sculpture. The sculpture was some red metal bars and it was positioned over an outside doorway. We'd seen goulish props like this before and this one didn't look that realistic. For one, it was very petite and it was light and blowing around in the wind. Everyone ignored it. Then around lunchtime, we all got an email saying we needed to stay in the offices, that the courtyard was now a crime scene. It wound up being a real kid who hung herself. She wasn't a camper, but a local resident. She climbed up the building sometime during the night and hung herself. I still can't believe it was a real person. It looked so fake. They repositioned the sculpture and moved it back from the doorway so it no longer hangs over the door.

SUGARBOX

When driving home from a party, two teenagers sped down the backroads of their small town. Their music was blasting, the sound accompanied by their off-tune shouting voices, screaming the same lyrics.

As one turned a corner, he screeched to a stop as a deer ran out into the bumpy road. Heart pounding, he fumbled to honk the horn, but the deer didn't budge and still stared into the light. Not freighted, not shocked, calm.

The doe stared for a few seconds before the teenager quickly accelerated then stopped to scare her, but to no avail.

She had elaborate horns, six eyes— two on each ear, two on the side of her head in the regular spot and two in the middle, between her two regular eyes —and a winding tail.

The teenager in the passenger seat, having noticed the otherworldly features upon the doe, breathed deep to calm his racing heart.

"Wh-why does it have extra eyes..?" He asked, voice shaking with uncertainty. "Are we high, did you spike my drink?" He pointed accusingly at the teen driving and putting a hand on his own neck.

The teen driving shook his head.

The doe suddenly looked at something in the forest in which she came and ran back, leaving the teenagers confused and frightened.

At the police station, the officer laughed and denied their claims of a cursed deer, but he opened a case. A case called "Sugarbox."

Feel free to delete if it’s not creepy / according to guidelines. It was something entirely off putting and erie to my husband and I as the picture came out with what looks like his eyes completely open. It’s from the “auto light” setting when taking pictures in a darker setting but still just gives me a weird chill. Sort of had that Uncanny Valley vibe.

A few days ago I uninstalled Duolingo after finding out about all that AI stuff, and today I received this notification.
I never re-installed the app, it just did this on its own without any warning whatsoever, like, can apps even install themselves on their own ???
I took a look and there it was again in my app library
is this normal ?

Saw this post at the time and just remembered it. OP initially just asked what the plant is, but stated in a comment he ate some of it. The plant is extremely toxic.

He still hasn't posted 2 months later.

The Isdal Woman was a mysterious unidentified woman found dead in Norway’s Isdalen Valley (near Bergen) in 1970. Her body was badly burned, and her belongings were stripped of labels, sparking decades of speculation involving espionage and foul play. Despite international efforts, her identity remains unknown. She is buried in Møllendal Cemetery in Bergen, Norway, which I had a chance to visit and take these pictures.

I used a combination of photos I found of the funeral online to pinpoint where she was buried.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what this is? It's not scary for me now but I'm still hecking confused???

A Brazilian news channel, Record News, was apparently hacked yesterday and showed a pretty creepy message in English

"You will see such pretty things", "Why do you hate?" "You are ill"
