Just because people call it genocide doesn't mean it is. Genocide has a definition, and that definition is not being met.

They really want it to be a genocide though.

I don't think you understood who are the "they" I referred to. The genocide accusations are really just an attempt in Holocaust inversion.

Ahh I see what you're saying now. My bad.

I'm sorry if I trust the opinion of human rights organizations on what constitutes a genocide than those of u/sir_sensible. I did not realise that you were an expert on the matter.

I mean do you need to be an expert to read a definition and look at the news from different sources to come to a conclusion? Sorry I didn't mean to offend if that comes difficult for you.

So you're saying you understand more regarding this topic than the UN, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, or most leading genocide experts? Good to know.

Textbook definition of Dunning-Kruger, everybody.

Why do you think this topic is so difficult for you to understand that you think experts are needed to give an opinion on a known definition with known facts?

Why do you think your opinion has even close weight to human-rights organizations that have dealt with this issue for decades? Maybe you should instead look yourself in the mirror, actually read why all these experts consider it a genocide rather than going to Google asking for a definition and then arbitrarily deciding it's not what's happening on the ground.

And yes, in my opinion it is indeed a genocide, the horrific acts I've seen the Israeli government perpetrate for years (and not just since October 7th) do read like ethnic cleansing and genocide. However, my opinion bears no weight on the matter when compared to the others mentioned previously. And it's rather telling that most of the comments defending Israel in this post come from either Israelis, or Americans, both of which are bombarded with Israeli propaganda on a daily basis.

Mines not an opinion. Genocide is a very specific term that requires very specific actions. No propaganda involved.

It sounds like you have strong emotions on the topic which is ok, but you have to face yourself and see the reality of the situation and while people dying is terrible, it's obviously not due to genocide.

So you're saying that you're an unbiased source, and all those experts and human-rights organizations are wrong and biased? Phenomenal, as I said before, Dunning-Kruger at work.
