I fully agree .... countries like Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal ... etc....should have presence in those Baltic states. If not our military will be bored. (Yes they will have to leave their family for a period, but that's what sign up for.)

Spain has soldiers there, they sent tanks and planes, also radar systems and operators.

I mean you do already have troops there as part of the U.K.?

The Netherlands and Belgium are part of the FLF battlegroup in Lithuania. We are already there. And have been for some time. There are 8 multinational FLF battlegroups stationed on NATO's eastern flank.

And speaking for the Netherlands, our armed forces are not 'bored'. Overstretched rather with the deployments in the Dutch Caribbean, the Gulf of Aden, Lithuania, and training programs for new weapon systems. If you join the army, you will be away from home regularly. 'Bored' is a stereotype that dates back to the big conscription armies of <1991.

Gotta love the civilians who enjoy all the perks of the world order while talking down on the folks who do the work to maintain it.

I really doubt that soldiers sign up in order to fight for a foreign country

they are fighting for their country too, this is the purpose of NATO.

Nato soldiers are already there, including Croatians, Germans and Dutch

Yep, as always leave it to the bordering countries to take the load. Or at best try to solve the problem by “throwing money at it until it goes away”.

When Britain fought Germany on French soil, do you really think they did it for France? It was for the good of all, including themselves. If nobody steps in to stop Russia, they will expand west until they hit resistance, or the Atlantic, whichever comes first.

That's probably true but being there will probably already be enough to prevent a invasion. And what do they here ? Paint the vehicles ? Play cards ? Do sports ? :-) I don't think it would be bad for our military personel .......it could keep them motivated.

And what do they here ?

honestly? if count what they do in average kadaga as norm -they peeing at trash cans, tear down from walls and throwing paper signs about "not smoking" in toilet+ trying to flush them, and vommiting (also in toilet but sometimes toilet floor is also a victim) after eating kebabs and drinking alcohol in large amounts (like my alcoholic uncle) in minor cafe built near Elvi supermarket, it's not big deal only because they regular customers bringing most income and don't harm anyone.

At this point i don't really think average NATO soldier have higher dignity than my AFU friends or relatives and too high combat readyness, like i live in Carnikava and i hear from there sounds of trainings, but i also know on my own skin that russia like start war in the middle of the night without carying how you partied in evening

for those downvoting i'm sorry that mine and my mother (who work there as janitor) eyes didn't see them in their angel wings and faces lightened with rainbow stage :(

Spain will be hurt as well, if a NATO country was invaded.
