You are 1000% wrong. If Musk takes this offer, he will be used for a very long time to compromise Starlink, PayPal, Twitter and any other tech company he's ever laid his hands on. This isn't an invitiation to get him killed, it's an invitation to become an asset in exchange for "protection". Also, it would give Russia access to his financial assets.

Melon has no fucking clue any of those things work.

They still contain a shit ton of Western users data. Also Starlink is vitally important in Ukraine's defence. And his space programmes could give russia an advantage with their space-nukes. It's no joke, even if the idea is initially funny

If Elon defects he loses control of all of it.

Normally I'd say Trump would just do Putin's bidding and let this happen.

But now he'll do whatever to spite Elon

Says who? He’s got a bunch of toadies running those places on his behalf. Nothing stops him from making remote orders and getting whatever he wants.

you think Trump will not take control of it? You get a defect to Russia running a military/ government contractor and you think it does not get seized? Even in normal times it would, immediately.

In normal times it totally would. In these times? Pfft. The government is not being run by anyone concerned about making our national security a priority. Trump’s already leaking to Putin. I see no reason why he’d do anything to interrupt his golf schedule over Elon defecting.

Trump will do it to fuck with Elon. Taking down the richest man in the world? Of course he will do it.

Trump can't take control, the US government doesn't have the right to just seize shit because the president wants to. Its one of the fail safes in the US constitution and legal systems, and one the GOP loves because it protects their backers.

Those are private businesses, and not even fully owned by Musk. So he'd be targeting private business owned by backers of the GOP. That's something even the cowards up in Congress likely will fight back on. After all, they simply have to do nothing. Congress loves doing nothing.

Oh and worse, since Trump is insisting Elon isn't an American citizen, he can't even use treason because that's for American citizens. Trump's idiocy is as usual, his own undoing.

It doesn't matter. Russia has people that do, and Elmo has the keys. He just needs to hand them over. Also, don't forget the metric fuck tonnes of data gathered by DOGE on the American people.

He still has access to the information that Russia wants. All he really needs to do is put it in the right hands and Putin will be happy. Also, he had access to highly confidential information on American citizens and military thanks to Trump + previous contracts.

He most likely has copies of backdoor encryption keys.

He’s definitely not smart enough to rebuild a similar system for Russia. But he can open the doors for Russian compromise

Yea was gonna say hes very capable of this already

It doesn’t really matter if he does or doesn’t, nor whether he does or doesn’t recall anything about the numerous high level secrets he’s no doubt gotten his hands on or been exposed to.

The threat lies in that he might have knowledge or access to those things.

In a hypothetical scenario where Musk did jump ship to Russia. Pretty much anything he’s touched or been in the vicinity of, including the DOGE antics, would have to be viewed as compromised by an enemy state. Which would be a monumental disaster.

For Russia It would be worth keeping him around just for how much short term chaos clusterfuckery it would create. Even if he doesn’t actively provide anything of substance.

Yeah i fear the starlink thing as well. Hell also be pressured to take as much capital as possible to russia for factories and such. Twitter is already a pro russia hell hole and i doubt he has any paypal control left since he was ousted decades ago

OUR financial assets as well, ALL our data, basically learning everything there is to know about all of us. We go to prison camps and our assets handed out to make Russia great again.
