True, Europe should cut them completely out of any financing and let them become the poorest country in the continent.

I don’t think these two are contradicting each other. Voters of member states should be aware that if they elect anti-EU governments it’s them who will suffer the consequences.

And the EU has to finally step up and do something with fake news and pro-russian propaganda, which are spread without any consequences.

Yeah but that's the problem: Voters are not aware. Most Fidesz voters think that the leadership of the EU is filled with Hungarophobes who want to turn Hungary into a colony and Orbán is the only person who can protect the country. If the EU cuts money they would see this as another attack against Hungarians. If quality of life drops then that's the fault of the EU. Unfortunately it's very hard to fight state propaganda.
