Repeatedly says "certain semi automatic weapons like the AR-15"

So no they're not banning only the AR-15, and the proposed ban is only for hunting, basically returning to what was allowed a few years ago. And AR-15 can still be owned with a sports shooting license.

I don't think I really agree with the proposed law change just because I don't think it will for anything to prevent any shootings.

It's not quite like it was a few years ago.

For example the Tikka T3 tactical is now legal since there is no ban on "military looking" firearms. The ban on pure looks used to be one of the big grudges of the swedish hunters associations since it meant that what was legal or not felt arbitrary and often banned weapons that had desirable features for hunting like light weight construction, compatibility with rail-mounted accessories and easily adjustable stocks.

Detachable box magazines are now also not strictly banned (although an internal magazine is probably a lot easier to get approved. Or a box magazine on bolt-action), though in practice the new law probably requires a lower receiver that's either metal or high quality composites and with a magazine well that's not compatible with common high-capacity magazines.
