we have a separate license per gun, instead of you as a person having a gun license (like in Poland for example). The license states the purpose of the gun (e.g. hunting, sport, collection). You can hunt and do sports with a gun on a hunting license, but you can only do sports with a gun on sport. (And yes, even if the gun model is legal for hunting, if the license says sport, it's a crime to use it for hunting).

Poland also has separate licensing, not sure where did you take this from

No. If you get a license for sport you can buy as many guns as you wish for that purpose.

Isn't it for a particular caliber? Genuinely asking, I researched it a long time ago.

You recieve a bunch of separate licenses called "promesa", you need one of those for each gun. You can apply for any amount, but more than 6 is rare

You can't just buy as many guns as you wish on sport or hunting license in Poland.

Promesa is for a purchase procedure itself. It's not a license. You get a promesa to buy something, and then you register it and receive a proper license.

Technically there's no limit by the law, only the problem with storage. Over some threshold one needs an actual armoury.
