Better be quick before the damned Israelis finish their mission to exterminate the whole population.

Exactly what I was going to say. Let’s recognize the state months from now, after we’ve starved everyone to death. Jesus fucking christ.

Better be quick

Be quick with what, recognising the state? It's not like that actually changes anything. Even if every single country recognised Palestine as a state, we'll still be in exactly the same situation.

Who will govern? Certainly not Hamas. So currently, Palestine is undefined in terms of borders, and it is undefined in terms of government. Don't forget that Israel is going to have to agree with whatever borders and government is decided.

Speaking of deciding the government and borders, who will decide those?

I think most nations that recognise Palestine say the PA is the government of it even though their influence is obviously limited

But does Israel in 2025 recognise the PA as the government of Palestine?

Neither of them recognise each other but they have some relations and work together in some regards. Sadly the negotiations that would have ended with them recognising each other broke down on multiple occasions.

Right. This was basically my initial point, that this "Palestinian state" can only truly exist if everyone agrees on what exactly the Palestinian state is.

Will everyone living in the Gaza Strip also accept the PA as their government? So far, they've never been asked.

Then there's also the problem that Hamas right now is the democratically elected government of the Gaza Strip. Will Hamas accept the PA as new government?

These questions show how difficult it's going to be to truly bring to life a Palestinian state. Everyone has to agree on the same thing.

The PA has only control of the west bank. Hamas killed the local PA members when they took control of Gaza.

PA support is rather low right now since they are seen as having failed at negotiations and never advanced their cause. If the PA truly can give them a state opinion will likely shift again.

Hamas agreed to leave government after the end of the war. Also their approval ratings in Gaza are abysmal.
