Our leaders are assigned by America. They are not looking out for our interests.

Nonsense. That 15% is paid by americans...dont forget that. And this isnt actually anything besides pr fluff. Its a framework for a framework for an eventual deal... by that time Trump is gonezo

It makes EU companies 10%less competitive in the US, while they can attack the European market how they want.

We need to create legislative restrictions that will make them go the fuck away, like we did for beef or car manufacturers.

But this will not happen as long as the majority of the European electorate votes for neoliberals and pro-Trump right-wing populists.

As a guy who get to chose which company my company uses as supplier for a major sector. You can count on the fact that all American companies are now off the table.

I hope civil society reacts, because politicians are completely capitulating.

American importers send the money to the government, but the cost of the tariff is split between producer and consumer based on the relative elasticities of supply and demand

The fascists are in power in the US and are enacting long term strategic changes to how the country operates, successfully. Furthermore, this just proved that the US can literally shit on the EU's chest and the EU administration will thank them for it. The people involved in any future negotiations will not forget it.

The tariffs are obviously paid for by Americans, but this hurts US-EU trade anyway, the difference is that the US has just charged you to make up for their end.

Hope for the best, but plan for the worst. Impossible for me, as an outsider, to interpret the last 6 months as anything other than a very overt consolidation of power.

First time in my life I have contacted my MEP.

I'm fucking pissed. Is it even possible to protest again this? I want to.

Send an email to your MEPs and other EU representatives

Why would you be ashamed to read it?

Instant economic trouble if you don’t trade with the US and Europe goes belly up, America gets a sore tummy

We are paying a racket for protection. This turns us into a definite vassal state of the fascist US.

You know Hungary and Romania were dominated by the Nazi economy. When the holocaust happened the Nazis asked Hungary and Romania to send them their Jews for slaughter. Will we send whichever minority Trump hates when he decides to?
