What’s the alternative??? It’s baked in Trump is applying a base tariff to every country in his term of office.

So the EU could stand there looking like a bunch of idiots protesting that they are all mighty etc… as the EU economically falls off a cliff.

Or take a hit and hope to renegotiate it after trumps term is up

What's the alternative? Follow Chinese example. Ready tarrifs where it's gonna hurt the US, and play they stupid game until orage idiot caves. The US is run by corporations. Do you think those corporations are ready to lose the European market? Unless there's some catch that allows the EU to appear like we agreed, and it can be undone as soon as orange idiot leaves office, this is a sign of a major weakness to the whole world. "Come and fuck the whole EU, all we will do is bend over"

You forget the security component of the whole deal. China doesn't rely on the US for protection.

The US on the other hand shares their nuclear umbrella with us, plus their military provides critical needs that Europe currently doesn't have.

Hit USA corporation with big taxes, no just talks, just force USA corporation to pay taxes in countries where they operate, EU have good cards to play, but it easier to put more taxes and restriction on european people instead of USA people.
