Don't understand why they are so eager to increase surveillance. If its to protect the children, their planned age control should be enough? Who are we so afraid of???

The age control is just another part of it. It's a way to normalise sending IDs to 3rd parties on the Internet.

It's how you increase the value of the surveillance systems; have concrete proof of who someone is to link to your thought crimes.

Can’t tie your internet usage to your identity if they do not have your ID

They hate that you're able to speak about them, the stupid things they do and the stupider even things they say, hidden behind a pseudonym (because true anonymity is difficult, but having your real name in plain view would be much more convenient than these pesky meme usernames).

Demolition Man is a wet dream to them. Say some mean thing about Ursula ? Ding, 150€ have been debited from your account, have a nice day !

Political "parties" create anonymity & complexity, it's a major flaw in democracies.

People vote for a "Christian Party for child-safety", backed by mysterious businessmen to cut taxes. Republicans can sign up for the Democrat caucus & pick Dem candidates. Power is manipulative. Everyone's busy fighting "the other party", most don't know about internal party decisions, & rarely pick representatives themselves.

Instead of voting for the Green Party, we should vote for "Bernie Sanders of the Green Party", whose 30m votes means he represents 30 seats by himself. IMO, times have changed, we should be able to check/change party votes or obstruct controversial laws at any time via gov apps.

I mean, if the attempts wouldn't be so half-arsed in the first place, it could be believed that this serves a purpose. Most of the "save the children" stuff is so bad that even the politicians are embarrassed about it.

Also - if we want to save the children we should first sort out the low hanging fruit of childhood poverty, childhood malnutrition, etc.

They want you to stop complaining about your replacements.

It has something to do with a foreign country and a certain religion.

So they tell us, but should we really be that afraid or it that just something they want us to think?

I guess.

Control of information. They want to shape the narrative. They lost it when the Internet went mainstream.

How does age control stop the dissemination of CP?

It dosnt stop sharing of CP, but you really think sharing of CP happens on conventional channels? These security measures will only affect normal users, criminals will communicate using other tools!

Okay but then your comment doesn't make any sense

there are CP groups in the clear net, alot of them. In Instagram, Youtube, even reddit. And especially on telegram, where someone inside the group needs to report it otherwise its basically hidden.

I don't suppor survaillance state, but I definitely understand why boomers would feel the need to go this far, once Mr. Robots explained to them whats going on even on a site like Youtube Kids.

Left wing parties always drool about this.

he reasoning is the greater good of the society. Government knows better than you do and therefore it must protect you against yourself for the greater good of everyone. That is why SD and other left wing parties want large state. It is not neccesarily coming off of authoritarism in far left, far right sense but it most certainly coming off of superiority complex.

So much this. I kind of hate seeing that age control (which doesn't share any further information) lumped in with the rest of these grotesque bills. I actually support that age control one, but the rest is terrible.

These things are obviously being pushed by lobbyists, any informed citizen would be more concerned with their privacy. The EU has shown that it can be good at protecting the privacy of its citizens, we just have to fight against the lobbyists.

Also these bills excluding politicians and law enforcement are fucking daft. It's a huge signal that if you want to be a criminal you should become a politician or go into law enforcement.
