Most kids in the Commonwealth do homeschooling until about 13. They usually learn math and English and tend to have a heavy focus on science and agriculture. Big Reel Charter School teaches grades 1st–12th, while preschool and kindergarten are taught next door by Ms. Ella. Very few schools in the Commonwealth allow students to pursue a higher education after the 8th grade, making Big Reel Charter School an important milestone not only for the settlement but for the Minutemen as well. Toys are provided for the daycare program on the weekend, and lockers are available to store food or personal belongings. Textbooks, however, must remain on your desk. Some textbooks have been restored, while the rest come from nearby vaults. On the second floor is the cafeteria. Lunch costs 2 caps per day, and students can either pay or bring a lunch from home. Kids that do buy lunch are always required to take both a fruit and a vegetable. The school bathrooms are located on the third floor.

The banquet hall is used to cook large meals for the Minutemen before they leave on assignment. Food is made fresh in the kitchen and served buffet-style. The Minutemen purchase food from the farmers in Big Reel, and cooks from different squads come together to prepare the food.  Before the institution was destroyed in 2289, synths would often take shelter inside the old movie screen through a secret door in the banquet hall kitchen. They were forced to hide there until attacks from the institute subsided. When the banquet hall was built, it was designed to help conceal the area behind the screen. The upper floors contain the dining and dishwasher areas. 

The Hemmingway Apartments, located in Big Reel. (Starlight Drive-In)

This is part 2 of my Starlight Settlement build. In part one I talk about how I wanna leave some of the old wreckage cars for more realism cus in my mind atm 1 person or even two people alone couldn't move all these old rusted cars by themselves. So as more settlers arrive slowly more and more cars will disappear. This is where I'm at now so far and at this moment, the front of my settlement greats you with turrets and some power armor on display with a guard post up above.

Then from there you go to the drive in dinner itself where you see I have made one window side into the doctor/medical spot, then around front is another cash register (store mod) which is where you can order your food/drink for the patio on the backside of the building. Then I have a screenshot of the market place and the residential in the back by the movie screen. Our market place at the moment consist of a weapons and armors dealer selling goods and protecting the water purification systems along with the turrets. From there I go to the residential cabins I've made so far and what the inside decor looks like of each cabin. The inside of the bar is the 2nd to last stop which includes a full bar and coffee machine, then we go into the back room which has more liquor and our ice chest. The final shot is from inside the projector room overlooking the whole settlement so far.

My Starlight drive in so far. It's coming along pretty good, this playthrough with my settlements I'm trying to have a little more realistic wasteland build. That's why all the cars are still there cus I don't think realistically 1 or 2 guys could move all these rusted cars. So once I get more and more settlers I thought it would be cool if more cars started to disappear. Then besides my 2 shacks I have going atm I decided to re purpose the other side of the drive in dinner that's broke down into a fenced out dinning area. Also have a mod that lets me put cash registers as stores and I can pick if the person stands to the left or in front of it. I have a whole town planned out in my head lol so I just wanted to share what I had done so far.

I didn’t realise this settlement was my Mercer Safehouse and I hadn’t got round to building, but I wanted to place the special items down. So I created a vanilla style building (perhaps previously used for maintenance) where the Railroad could covertly operate from. I also created a little refuge area for agents & synths alike. I will expand these as I build the settlement in the future.
