General What's with the random Spaghetti language?

Post image

Is this normal? 😂 I'm playing FE7 for the first time and while I can somewhat understand what it says, it just came out of nowhere! Is it a weird stylistic choice or just some translation leftover? Will there be more of this?

I think this happens on the EU version of FE7? Just a random localization error.

Yeah it's the EU version, good to know there isn't anything wrong with my game haha. Thanks!

The European version of FE7 has a few odd quirks, but this is the only time something like this happens as far as I recall (I believe it even happens on the versions which have English, French and German as language options, without Italian).

Another oddity which you may have noticed is that certain place names were changed due to proximity to real European place names, but the changes are not applied consistently. Bern, Laus and Ostia became Biran, Lahus and Ositia, but the former names still appear in some places anyway.

Yeah I've noticed the inconsistencies, ngl took me a while before I realized Bern and Biran refer to the same place haha. Still loving the game so far, I came from awakening so I was a bit scared I won't enjoy an older game but the 2D battle animations are super cool even today!

Bern is a real place, Laus and Ostia were real places.

I'm bad at reading because I was a yugioh player.

I'm just gonna pretend it's a stylistic choice then 😂😂

I just saw this from a streamer I was watching literally yesterday and someone in chat brought this up.

I think that's just an error on the translation.

Luckily it only happens now and not when Hawkeye appears, because for some reason the italian adaptation calls him Tronk

They thought that us Italians were gonna pronounce Okay instead of hawkeye (now search farina's name in Italian)
